Thermal and medical tourism in Hungary are characterised by a continuous development. The management, efficiency, operational effectiveness and offer of enterprises in the field of tourism influence the competitiveness of Hungary’s tourism. In the present day economic life the thorough analysis of the enterprises’ economy is indispensable. The result of the analytical methods applied by the report provide information for different stakeholders (owners, transporters, customers, employees, habilitators). The aim is to have data which inform us about the functioning, financial situation and profitability of the economic entities parallel with the factors and conditions determining these elements. In our paper we present the financial situation of the Demjén Thermal Spa Ltd., being one of the newest thermal spas of Hungary.

The main goal of this article is to determine the optimal time period of boiler for biomass renewal, because its usage affects the financial situation of the firm in the form of costs. In this contribution is applied the method of operational research - the method of optimal time of machine renovation. The results of the analyses point to the optimal period of biomass boiler renovation before its service life in the 11th year. Operating costs are increasing about 9% after this time. By using this model there is ability to plan financial sources for buying new biomass boiler at 5500-15600€ on the market. The scientific benefit lies in the fact that the model is applicable to all types of equipment and machinery, in various industrial areas and in services and it is preventive instrument for financial planning for machine renovation.

Measuring the performance and efficiency of the tourism enterprises is essential regarding the current pandemic situation. In such a context, improving their financial situation and competitive position also depend on the use of innovative multi-criteria evaluation models. The paper's main objective is to propose the newly designed Performance & Efficiency model (P&E model) for Slovak spa enterprises. Its structure consists of three dimensions – P&E_I, P&E_II, P&E_III. The application of Confirmatory Factor Analysis validates 34 key performance ratios reflecting the financial situation of enterprises within the P&E_I. In case of P&E_II, the development of value-added dynamics is measured by using the Economic Value Added Momentum. Using the Data Envelopment Analysis, the level of enterprise efficiency is quantified (P&E_III). The partial results of the dimensions are transformed using min-max normalization to the overall score ranging from 0 to 3. Based on the results, a rating scale of all enterprises is carried out, and both their partial and overall positions are assessed through benchmarking. During the research (2013 – 2018), the best results are achieved for SE03 (Spa Bojnice, Inc.), SE21 (Specialised Spa Institute Marína, s.e.), and SE18 (Spa Horný Smokovec, Ltd.). The worst-rated spa enterprises include SE14 (Natural Iodine Spa Číž, Inc.), SE09 (Spa Sliač, Inc.), and SE19 (Pieniny Resort, Ltd.). The proposed P&E model is easily applicable to other tourism enterprises. The research as carried out enables deepening of knowledge concerning the multi-criteria evaluation and management concepts and helps enterprises overcome current unfavorable situations.

Islam regulates economic life for the benefit of all. Waqf can be a solution in creating mutual benefit in society. This study aims to analyze the comparison between the practice of waqf for both Muslims and non-Muslims. This study uses qualitative methods. Samples in this study are the Islamic Hospital of endowments and the Gates Foundation. Data were analyzed using descriptive-analytical methods. The results show that the Gates Foundation and UNISMA use funds from their business management to distribute to the public. If UNISMA distributes waqf funds for business development and to achieve goodness, the gates foundation is entirely donated to the public. The difference in the company's financial scale is this division.

The article is focused on elaborating essential methodological approaches to constructing an effective system for comprehensive statistical analysis of bank performance. The article’s objective is to provide scientific justification of methodological principles for constructing this system. Special importance and significance of such analysis for the effective bank management is emphasized. Besides that, the significance of the analysis is caused by the diversity of banks’ links with clients, shareholders, partners, competitions, National Bank and power bodies, population and mass media. The sound assessment of bank performance and management decision making process is based on an advanced statistical analysis. The statistical toolkit designed for analytical justifications of management decisions needs to be built on the principles underlying statistical support for management: comprehensiveness and consistency. A major part of bank performance indicators are indicators of their financial situation in view of the sufficiency of capital, solvency, liquidity, reliability, profitability. An important background for assessing the financial situation of banks and analysis of management efficiency is a study of the bank system in its relationship with the external environment of its operation, i. e. the national economy.     At the level of an organization, the bank statistics consists of two statistical information modules: external and internal one. A system of indicators can be structured in form of four interlinked modules of financial and economic indicators, with each contributing to problem solutions involved in a study of bank performance. An important condition for applications of the proposed set of indicators is that their computation must be supplemented by an analysis of dynamics intensity. This allows for finding internal patterns of development and tendencies specific for the operation process in bank sector. The proposed scheme for statistical analysis of management efficiency in the bank system allows one to combine the existing methodical approaches, synthesize their essential advantages and detect the drawbacks.

EM specimens often contain 3-dimensional information that is lost during micrography on a single photographic film. Two images of one specimen at appropriate orientations give a stereo view, but complex structures composed of multiple objects of graded density that superimpose in each projection are often difficult to decipher in stereo. Several analytical methods for 3-D reconstruction from multiple images of a serially tilted specimen are available, but they are all time-consuming and computationally intense.
