Aim: The aim of this paper is to analyze the strategic validity of Italian network contract in order to define a new business model for contemporary enterprises. Methodology: The research method is deductive-inductive with a multimethod approach. The sources are collected through semi-structured interviews and open sources, scientific books and papers, and sectorial database. Findings: The present research is the first step taken in conducting an extended study on a territorial, regional, and national level. Limitations: Research limitations are based on the restricted data used in the present phase of the work. Implications: The paper aim at integrating existing literature for academic community and decision makers. Originality: The research represents essential characteristics of Italian network contract, by emphasizing its framework and validity, in order to recognize an innovative business model in increasing the enterprises competition in the market.

Raden Intan Lampung State Islamic University (UIN RIL) as a State Islamic Religious College in Indonesia needs to gradually carry out various efforts to improve the quality of continuing education. The long-term quality of UIN RIL does not only cover national level competition, but also internationally. This study aims to examine the quality improvement process that has had a development and readiness plan for AUN-QA for the Academic Community of UIN RIL. Data collected is qualitative data. In accordance with the research design in order to find an overview of the planned development of UIN RIL and its readiness towards AUN-QA. The data sources in this study were taken from strategic planning documents and the opinions of the academics. Techniques for collecting data through documentation studies, deep interview, and participant observation. Non-structured interviews, so that data sources actively construct the cognitive world, and researchers try to capture the realm of that meaning. Analysis of data is collected simultaneously while collecting data with the principle of verstehen. The results of the study concluded that since the form changed from IAIN to UIN RIL development plans were discussed which were discussed in several stages and involved various stakeholders directed to the campus as an international reference. This can be seen in the vision, mission and objectives of UIN RIL. Likewise in priority programs and target targets there are points towards international scale achievements. The academics have welcomed with joy the change in form of IAIN to UIN RIL. All have stated that this is an opportunity to further develop the campus to reach international competition. Thoughts and energy were mobilized to develop UIN RIL towards becoming superior and competitive.

Purpose Multimarket competition is an area of competitive dynamics focused on studying situations where firms compete against each other simultaneously in more than one market. The intensity of competition depends on the aggressiveness and the market contingencies, influencing the competitive strategies. Particularly, the purpose of this paper is to explore the influence of multimarket competition and market contingencies on innovation. Design/methodology/approach An exploratory qualitative approach using the Grounded Theory is applied with conceptual purposes. The data were collected through in-depth semi-structured interviews and additional observations with senior strategies and decision-makers. The paper follows an extensive narrative to understand decision-taking processes on competitive strategy with the support of analytical software. The paper was performed in the automotive components industry making seats in two different countries to acknowledge the influence of market contingencies. Findings The results suggest that multimarket competition does not reduce the level of aggressiveness, but it offers a background that favors opportunities for companies and new business in circumstances of crisis associated to innovation. Depending on the market contingencies, strategies can foster a higher technological innovation, in those cases of high development in the industry, or diversification, when the development is lower. Originality/value This paper contributes to enrich multimarket competition theory with the study of innovation strategies in different market conditions, a topic not much explored in multimarket literature. Additionally, it suggests implications for managers attending to different market contingencies.

PT XYZ is one of agribusiness companies which offers horticultural products in Indonesia which are considered as eco-profit and low-pesticide-based-products. The purpose of this research is to describe and improve the business model of PT XYZ based on the Business Model Canvas (BMC) approach and SWOT analysis then the analysis is carried out the preparation of a new business model prototype for PT XYZ. This study utilizes structured interviews assisted with questionnaire instruments as data collection procedures and both Business Model Canvas (BMC) approach and identification of SWOT as research methodology. The results of the SWOT analysis on nine elements of Business Model Canvas (BMC) show that there are internal and external factors that become strengths and weaknesses for the company in carrying out its business model and also what opportunities and threats from external factors affect PT XYZ's business processes are. The SWOT identification results then used as background to formulate a new business improvement model. Improvement of PT XYZ's business model is aims to streamline production in satisfying the demand of Horeca (Hotel, Restaurant, Catering) customers. In supporting expansion of PT XYZ by having effective and efficient business model, the improvements that need to be done are escalating production management, doing production forecast, creating and socializing SOPs to farmers as the main partner, enhancing offline promotion by joining events held by Horeca (Hotel, Restaurant, Catering) events and dividing customer segment into three segments by sorting them based on priority which are Horeca (Hotel, Restaurant, Catering) as the first market segment, modern markets as the second market segment, and traditional market as the third market segment.

The Slovenian Forest Owners Association (FOAS), which connects local associations of private forest owners at the national level, is facing the problem of professionalizing its activities. Thus, its activities are limited. In order to improve the operation of the FOAS and possible business cooperation with its members within the framework of new business models, we conducted interviews with representatives of FOAS members (n = 24). FOAS members are satisfied with the work of the FOAS, mainly due to its involvement in the legislative process. FOAS members expect that the FOAS will become active in the area of joint timber sales in the future, which is why they showed great interest in business cooperation with the FOAS towards coordinated timber sales. In order to implement this new business model, it is first necessary to promote coordinated sales among forest owners, provide suitable personnel and establish links between timber suppliers and buyers.

Abstract Background Globally, and in India, research has highlighted the importance of community engagement in achieving national vaccination goals and in promoting health equity. However, community engagement is not well-defined and remains an underutilized approach. There is also paucity of literature on community engagement’s effectiveness in achieving vaccination outcomes. To address that gap, this study interviewed Indian vaccination decision makers to derive a shared understanding of the evolving conceptualization of community engagement, and how it has been fostered during India’s Decade of Vaccines (2010-2020). Methods Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 25 purposefully sampled national-level vaccine decision makers in India, including policymakers, immunization program heads, and vaccine technical committee leads. Participants were identified by their ‘elite’ status among decisionmakers in the Indian vaccination space. Schutz’ Social Phenomenological Theory guided development of an a priori framework derived from the Social Ecological Model. The framework helped organize participants’ conceptualizations of communities, community engagement, and related themes. Inter-rater reliability was computed for a subsample of coded interviews, and findings were validated in a one-day member check-in meeting with study participants and teams. Results The interviews successfully elucidated participants’ understanding of key terminology (“community”) and approaches to community engagement propagated by the vaccine decision makers. Participants conceptualized ‘communities’ as vaccine-eligible children, their parents, frontline healthcare workers, and vaccination influencers. Engagement with those communities was understood to mean vaccine outreach, capacity-building of healthcare workers, and information dissemination. However, participants indicated that there were neither explicit policy guidelines defining community engagement nor pertinent evaluation metrics, despite awareness that community engagement is complex and under-researched. Examples of different approaches to community engagement ranged from vaccine imposition to empowered community vaccination decision-making. Finally, participants proposed an operational definition of community engagement and discussed concerns related to implementing it. Conclusions Although decision makers had different perceptions about what constitutes a community, and how community engagement should optimally function, the combined group articulated its importance to ensure vaccination equity and reiterated the need for concerted political will to build trust with communities. At the same time, work remains to be done both in terms of research on community engagement as well as development of appropriate implementation and outcome metrics.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to examine the profile of entrepreneurs who failed in previous businesses, but despite their initial failure, decide to start or maintain another business. Based on the literature, re-entrepreneurs present some unique characteristics that allow them to overcome and learn from their previous ventures. Moreover, following the institutional dimensions literature, the paper shows that these dimensions should also affect the prevalence and type of re-entrepreneurial profiles. Design/methodology/approach Traditional ANOVA and logistic regression analysis were used as a way to test several hypotheses. Moreover, decision trees were implemented to provide further insights with respect to the characteristics of the relationships under study. Data from the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor Survey (Adult Population Survey 2016 for Chile) is the main source of information. Findings The results of this paper show that for Chilean entrepreneurs, there is a different profile between those who fail and abandon and those who decide to start a new business after failing. These differences show that post-failure entrepreneurs behave like angel investors, have better business skills and are more experienced. Additionally, they are more likely to share ownership of their new business. Originality/value The paper contributes to the literature with empirical results that validate that failure determines special characteristics in entrepreneurs through a methodology that is relatively new in the community. Also, the paper discusses how institutions (institutional theory) could play a role in this phenomenon. This can help decision makers and the academic community better understand the nature of this type of entrepreneur and thus provide insights for more focussed public policies and better-informed business decisions.

This research proposed a model to assist the design of the associated data architecture and data analytic to support talent forecast in the current accelerating changes in economy, industry and business change due to the accelerating pace of technological change. The emerging and re-emerging economy model were available, such as Industrial revolution 4.0, platform economy, sharing economy and token economy. Those were driven by new business model and technology innovation. An increase capability of technology to automate more jobs will cause a shift in talent pool and workforce. New business model emerge as the availabilityand the cost effective emerging technology, and as a result of emerging or re-emerging economic models. Both, new business model and technology innovation, create new jobs and works that have not been existed decades ago. The future workers will be faced by jobs that may not exist today. A dynamics model of inter-correlation of economy, industry, business model and talent forecast were proposed. A collection of literature review were conducted to initially validate the model.

The proposed article aims to summarize available quantitative and qualitative data on same-sex partnerships in Ukraine, including data on the presence of children in such partnerships, over the last twenty years (1999–2018). The increasing number of publications on various aspects of the existence of same-sex couples in English demonstrates the relevance of the topic. The information available in Ukraine is the richest in comparison with other post-Soviet countries of the Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia region. At the same time, LGBT families remain out of the academic community in Ukraine, and the data collected are mostly contained in the so-called "gray literature" (mainly research reports by public organizations), and are not introduced into scientific circulation. It is shown that, depending on the composition of the sample and the definition of same-sex partnership used by the researchers, this percentage most often falls within the range of 16–28% of surveyed homosexual and bisexual men residing in the capital and regional centers of Ukraine. Quantitative information on women partnerships is extremely limited (one survey of a small sample), and there is no quantitative data for the couples, where one or both partners are transgenders. Quantitative information on children in same-sex partnerships is also very limited, and the data in the literature (with all the methodological disadvantages indicated) ranges from 14% to 29% of LGB, which have children, but it is unknown whether these children were raised in same-sex couples. With regard to quality information, the situation is different — a little bit more is known about the status of women and partly transgender partnerships (including the issue of children in such families) than about male couples. Separate data demonstrates a significant similarity in the same-sex partnership structure to the typical heterosexual egalitarian family model (two partners and their children), taking into account more egalitarian marriage roles, lack of formal status, and associated socio-economic risks. Further research (including national level) should be based on a common understanding of what constitutes “same-sex partnership”, what are the characteristics of same-sex partnership (civil, family), what characteristics of civil partnership turn it into a“family”, etc.
