The social service program in Banyuresmi village was done through field observations regarding the issues of agroindustrial waste. The majority of the public there created waste from the post-harvest activities of coffee and tobacco. To this day the utilization of agroindustrial waste in Banyuresmi village is limited to coffee been skin and tobacco. On the other hand, the waste can become a product with high economical value. BOTALIKA is a new innovation that creates horta dolls in the shape of a tiger from coffee and tobacco waste. The product can support Banyuresmi village as a the Pasirmacan tourism village through the utilization of local potentials in order to increase the community’s economy. The project was developed after identifying the local potential from coffee and tobacco waste that is in Banyuresmi village. The natural beauty of Banyuresmi village bolsters its efforts to become a tourism village. With time, the BOTALIKA horta dolls can become a souvenir from Banyuresmi village as the Pasirmacan tourisme village.

Chapter 7 describes, evaluates, and reinterprets the social service program Generations of Hope as a ceremony of social values rather than as a successful response to a social problem. The program is intended to improve child foster care by providing a communal setting for usually poor youths without families. The evaluations of its outcomes is largely based on staff efforts that defy customary social science methods. Generations of Hope is an instance in the long, unfortunate romantic tradition of social service that rejects objective coherence in mistaking obedience to social values—cultural symbolism—as program effectiveness. The program expresses the heroic beliefs of the culture in the power of individual will, the triumph of self-discipline, and brilliant insight, which, against all odds, achieve monumental outcomes with few resources. The program provides no credible evidence of its success.

Immigration as the spearhead of state sovereignty has an official bond school, namely the Immigration Polytechnic as a place for forging future immigration cadres. Immigration cadets as future generations of immigration leaders are expected not only to have good technical immigration skills but also to have a heart to serve the community. Seeing this, the Immigration cadets for the Surabaya and Sidoarjo regions took the initiative to be able to contribute to social service activities which were held on May 13, 2021 at the Darul Ulum Hikmah Orphanage located in the governorate of Surabaya. It is hoped that this can be continued so that the role of immigration is not only felt in the immigration service but in the social field of immigration standing with the community.

In the current conditions of development of the international and national economy, an important task of statistical research is to conduct an objective and timely assessment and modeling of the relationship between indicators of economic and social development. Based on the results of these studies, reasonable management influences of the state on the adjustment and regulation of the country’s development are accepted. The article is devoted to the study of the relationship between the main components of economic and social development of the country and the construction of a set of models for forecasting the prospects of the country. The object of the study is the socio-economic condition of the country. The article proposes an algorithmic model for assessing the impact of economic development on society, which allows to identify key economic indicators that influence and shape the social development of the country. The practical value of the algorithmic model is to develop a system of evaluation and selection as a result of modeling the most significant factors that shape the social development of the country. The study confirmed the hypothesis of the dominant impact of economic development on society and determined that the main economic factors are the level of competencies that satisfy the modern labour market, technical development of businesses and their competitiveness in markets.

Chapter 5 describes, evaluates, and reinterprets the private sector social service program Year Up as a ceremony of social values rather than as a successful response to a social problem. The program is intended to provide poor minority urban youths access to the job market by offering short-term academic and skills training. Its claims to success are based on contracted evaluations that are not credible. In the end, Year Up embodies a mythic obligation to affirm heroic individualism as the essence of civic virtue and personal value. Year Up mandates that participants embark on the quest for authenticity through mentoring and training en route to employment. Yet the myth of Year Up defines one of its most enduring attractions. It is inexpensive and highly selective, in the end a very efficient way to certify the nation’s chosenness without disrupting customary social arrangements, without redefining the relationship among people, and notably without transferring great amounts of assets and income to those in need.
