Recent progress in ubiquitous computing technology is allowing development of new and so- phisticated applications that are now able to store very large data on the mobile device itself, besides access data stored remotely. Thus emerges the need to query and maintain data from portable equipments. However, traditional query languages such as SQL (Structure Query Lan- guage) and QbE (Query by Example) are inadequate for devices with small screens. Hence, this work presents QbZ (Query by Zoom), a query language based on Semantic Zoom for small-screen devices. The proposed mechanism is particularly suitable to locate and access data stored in portable equipments. In order to demonstrate the benefits of using QbZ, usability tests were conducted, as well as a comparative analysis with the existing solutions.

Query is instruction deeping to access data in data basis. SQL is lingual one be utilized to get communication or gets interaction among user with database. SQL merupakanBahasa that popular dalammemanajemen data basis.  This research intent to describe type and cause of IKIP'S college student fault Utomo's Kindness in apply SQL'S instruction (Query Language's structure) on Basis college eye Data. Observational method that is utilized in this research constitutes descriptive kualitatif. Data collecting instrument in observational it covers: (1) essay as case study those are utilized to know kesalahanmahasiswa's position in designs ERD. (2 ) interviews to college student those are utilized to get causal factor data glosses over. Base faults observational result in apply SQL'S instruction that done by IKIP'S college student Utomo's Kindness Baleful amongst those is conceptual fault for case study 1 as much 30% and case studies 2 as much 33%. Case study technical foul 1 no, meanwhile case study 2 as much 0,25%.

The application of wireless sensor network is emerging as a new trend in different sphere of modern society. However due to the advancement of SWE, designing & discovering sensor web registry services throughout heterogeneous environments is becoming a challenging task and raises several concerns like performance, reliability, and robustness. Many approaches and frameworks have been proposed to discover the sensor web registry services. Some of the approaches assume that the requests are placed in SOAP compatible formats while others focus on GUI based parametric query processing. We have formulated an approach that uses the Natural Language Query Processing which is a convenient and easy method of data access, especially for casual users who do not understand complicated database query languages such as SQL or XML based Query Language like XQuery and XPath. SOA is the proven technology for designing an efficient Sensor Web Registry by describing various parameters and sensor web services needed. We also propose an architecture based on x-SOA that organizes the method of sensor web registry service discovery in an efficient and structured manner using an intermediary, requester friendly layer called the Request Parser & Query Generator (RPQ) between the service provider and service requester via a service registry. We describe how RPQ facilitates the processing of plain text request query to a most appropriate sensor web service and also an algorithm with implementation for a complete cycle of sensor web registry service discovery.

Incorporating SQL questions from normal language is a long-standing open issue and has been drawing in extensive intrigue as of late. Natural Language Interface (NLI) is the confluence of Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Human-Computer Interaction, which allows interaction between humans and computers through the utilization of Natural Language. Here we are gonna deal with the problem of automatic generation of Structured Query Language (SQL) queries. SQL is a database language for querying and manipulating relational databases. Despite the spectacular rise in the acceptance of relational databases, there is a fundamental limitaion to the ability to fetch data from those databases. One of the major reasons for this is the fact that the users of these relational databases need to comprehend convoluted structured query languages. In this body of work, we present an interface that allows users to interact with the databases using Natural Lanaguage as opposted to the conventional structure query languages.

Relational Databases are typically created to fulfil the information requirements of a community of users generally belongs to a single organization. Data stored in these databases were typically accessed by using Structured Query Languages or through customized interfaces.  With the popularity of the World Wide Web and the availability of large number of Relational Databases for public access there is a need for users to retrieve data from these databases by using a text-based queries, possibly by using the terms that they are familiar with. However, the inherent limitations of Structured Query Languages used to create and access data in relational Data Bases does not allow uses to access data by using text-based queries. Also, the terms used in queries should be limited to those used during the construction of the databases. This paper proposes an architecture to generated ontologies over relation databases and show how they could be enhanced semantically by using available domain-specific or top-level ontologies so that the data managed by the DBs can be accessed by using text-based queries. The feasibility of the proposed architecture was demonstrated by building a prototype system over a sample MySQL database.

The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) proposed this international historical cohort study trying to solve the controversy about the increased risk of cancer in the workers of the Pulp and Paper Industry. One of the most important aspects presented by this study in Brazil was the strategies used to overcome the methodological challenges, such as: data access, data accuracy, data availability, multiple data sources, and the large follow-up period. Through multiple strategies it was possible to build a Brazilian cohort of 3,622 workers, to follow them with a 93 percent success rate and to identify in 99 percent of the cases the cause of death. This paper, has evaluated the data access, data accuracy and the effectiveness of the strategies used and the different sources of data.

This chapter introduces a complete storage and retrieval architecture for a database environment for XML documents. DocBase, a prototype system based on this architecture, uses a flexible storage and indexing technique to allow highly expressive queries without the necessity of mapping documents to other database formats. DocBase is an integration of several techniques that include (i) a formal model called Heterogeneous Nested Relations (HNR), (ii) a conceptual model XER (Extensible Entity Relationship), (ii) formal query languages (Document Algebra and Calculus), (iii) a practical query language (Document SQL or DSQL), (iv) a visual query formulation method with QBT (Query By Templates), and (v) the DocBase query processing architecture. This paper focuses on the overall architecture of DocBase including implementation details, describes the details of the query-processing framework, and presents results from various performance tests. The paper summarizes experimental and usability analyses to demonstrate its feasibility as a general architecture for native as well as embedded document manipulation methods.

This chapter explores the challenges that emerge from a narrow understanding of the principles underpinning Big data, framed in the context of the teaching and learning of Science and Mathematics. This study considers the materiality of computerised data and examines how notions of data access, data sampling, data sense-making and data collection are nowadays contested by datafied public and private bodies, hindering the capacity of citizens to effectively understand and make better use of the data they generate or engage with. The study offers insights from secondary and documentary research and its results suggest that understanding data in less constraining terms, namely: a) as capable of secondary agency, b) as the vital fluid of societal institutions, c) as gathered or accessed by new data brokers and through new technologies and techniques, and d) as mediated by the constant interplay between public and corporate spheres and philosophies, could greatly enhance the teaching and learning of Science and Mathematics in the framework of current efforts to advance data literacy.
