The article discusses the issues of increasing the reliability, safety, and survivability of power supply for railway automation and remote control devices. The authors have analyzed failures in the automation and remote control facilities in recent years, estimated the proportion of device failures due to lightning overvoltages, and highlighted an upward trend in the railway automation and remote control failures due to switching and lightning overvoltages. The design of modern uninterruptible power supply devices is provided with a description of the main structural units. Methods are proposed for the implementation of active protection for power supply of railway automation and remote control by introducing the thunderstorm locating functionality into the technical diagnostics and monitoring system. This solution will enable registration of hazardous thunderstorm activity and maintaining the devices’ serviceability and effi ciency, and will ensure the continuity and safety of the transportation process, which will help reduce damage incurred due to hazardous electromagnetic eff ects, including lightning overvoltages. The article suggests synchronizing the thunderstorm location system with the existing lightning detection networks through the Internet, a global computer network, as well as the option of installing a single-point lightning detector at an electrical interlocking post.

AbstractDiesel generator sets (DGU) are very widely used in autonomous power supply systems. An example is marine power plants, diesel locomotives with electric power transmission, uninterruptible power supply units, etc. The power of ship DGUs reaches 2–6 or more MW in one unit. The number of units on ships can be different, but, as a rule, at least two. In this paper, we propose a method of monitoring the dynamic electromechanical system “diesel synchronous generator”. The method aims at using a synchronous generator machine as a multifunctional accurate and sensitive sensor for diagnostic parameters of the electromechanical system. The proposed method of technical diagnostics is based on continuous monitoring of non-uniformity of diesel torque, fluctuations in the instantaneous angular velocity and instantaneous angular acceleration of the diesel crankshaft. These data are the results of a spectral analysis of stator currents and voltages of a synchronous generator.

Abstract –In building a computer network it takes precision in choosing a network scheme so that it can be used effectively and efficiently. Such as the selection of network topology, the type of network and network devices to be used. The security system is also an important part of a computer network that has inernet access to existing local networks to stay safe from outside threats. Here the authors do research in IT Telkom Purwokerto with the result that is, the topology used is the star and the type of client-server network. The server used is linux debian. The security system in IT Telkom purwokerto when analyzed is using authentication server system and using Virtual Private Network (VPN).Authentication server problems when there is no power, here the authors propose the procurement of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) for more stable electricity. As for the security system itself is more effective if added a firewall that is demiliterized zone (DMZ) so that there is a wall separation between public network and local network so that the security system will be more effective. Keywords: Network security system, Virtual Private Network (VPN), Authentication, Demilitarized Zone(DMZ) Abstrak-Dalam membangun sebuah jaringan komputer dibutuhkan ketepatan dalam memilih skema jaringan sehingga dapat digunakan secara efektif dan efisien. Seperti pemilihan topologi jaringan, jenis jaringan dan perangkat jaringan yang akan dipakai. Sistem keamanan juga bagian penting dari sebuah jaringan komputer yang memiliki akses inernet agar jaringan lokal yang ada tetap aman dari ancaman bahaya dari luar. Disini penulis melakukan riset di IT Telkom Purwokerto dengan hasil yaitu, topologi yang digunakan adalah star dan tipe jaringan client-server.Server yang digunakan adalah linux debian. Sistem keamanan yang ada di IT Telkom purwokerto saat dianalisis adalah menggunakan sistem server autentifikasi dan menggunakan Virtual Private Network (VPN). Permasalahan server autentifikasi ketika tidak ada daya listrik, disini penulis mengusulkan pengadaan Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) agar listrik lebih stabil. Sedangkan untuk sistem keamanan sendiri lebih efektif jika ditambahkan suatu firewall yaitu demiliterized zone (DMZ) agar ada tembok pemisah antara jaringan publik dan jaringan lokal sehingga sistem keamanan akan lebih effektif. Abstract Technical challenges associated with telomere length (TL) measurements have prompted concerns regarding their utility as a biomarker of aging. Several factors influence TL assessment via qPCR, the most common measurement method in epidemiological studies, including storage conditions and DNA extraction method. Here, we tested the impact of power supply during the qPCR assay. Momentary fluctuations in power can affect the functioning of high-performance electronics, including real-time thermocyclers. We investigated if mitigating these fluctuations by using an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) influenced TL assessment via qPCR. Samples run with a UPS had significantly lower standard deviation (p < 0.001) and coefficient of variation (p < 0.001) across technical replicates than those run without a UPS. UPS usage also improved exponential amplification efficiency at the replicate, sample, and plate levels. Together these improvements translated to increased performance across metrics of external validity including correlation with age, within-person correlation across tissues, and correlation between parents and offspring.
