O artigo discute o uso que Roberto Schwarz e Maria Sylvia de Carvalho Franco fazem do conceito de reconhecimento. Desse modo, busca mostrar que reconhecimento é, ao mesmo tempo, um princípio normativo e revelador de uma subordinação a práticas arbitrárias nos textos de ambos sobre a sociedade brasileira. Assim, a ordem do favor e a rede de relações de dominação pessoal que Schwarz e Franco, respectivamente, descrevem podem ser vistas como formas derivadas da subordinação do reconhecimento às necessidades práticas das camadas dominantes. Com isso, ao identificar uma “dissonância vexatória” entre o que intenciona uma norma de reconhecimento recíproco e o que intencionam as práticas concretas de reconhecimento, Schwarz e Franco mostram ser possível denunciar criticamente a transformação de um princípio legítimo de organização da vida social em um mecanismo de reprodução de hierarquias.Palavras-chave: reconhecimento, favor, dominação pessoal.***This paper presents the concept of recognition, as used by Roberto Schwarz and Maria Sylvia de Carvalho Franco. It tries to show that recognition is, at once, both a normative principle and a concept that reveals how everyday practices were subordinated by arbitrariness in Brazil. Accordingly, the relations of favor and personal domination, which Schwarz and Franco respectively describe, could be taken as consequences of practical necessities of the dominant classes. So, in identifying a “shaming dissonance” between what the norm of recognition implies and what it becomes within Brazilian society, both authors are able to show that is possible to critically denounce the inversion of a legitimate principle of social life’s organization into a mechanism of reproduction of social hierarchies.Keywords: recognition, favor, personal domination.

Our research reflects on the passing of a justice model linked to moral law imputes, positive punishment for non-compliance, for a model that reconciles justice. Following this line of thought, we add the contributions of Axel Honneth, according to which the establishment of a normative principle of justice must provide guidance for political action. This was only made possible to the extent that such principles are allied to social practices. By analyzing the Spirit of Christianity and its Fate, an early work of Hegel, we intend to verify the relevance of the concept of justice, for the design of the hegelian attack on the positive law and subsequent defense of ethics as reconciliation and fullness of life. From the understanding of justice as reconciliation in Hegel we approach that which underlies the reconstruction of social practices as Honneth understands.

Pesantren and social value system is the result of constructing kiai's thoughts and social actions as an inseparable entity. This study aims to interpret the role and social action of kiai Moh Hasan, both as a fighter (al-haiah al-jihaadi li'izzi al-Islaami wal muslimin) in the community as well as guidance and guidance for the community (al-haiah al ta 'awuny wa al takafuly wal al ittijaahi) and teaching in educational institutions (al-haiah al ta'lim wa al-tarbiyah), significantly contributes greatly to the social realities of society in Indonesia. Portrait of central figure kiai Moh Hasan can not be separated from the depth of his field of Islamic science, simplicity, kezuhudan, struggle, sincerity and generosity. This view, not only recognized among the people around the boarding school, students and colleagues, but also spread in some areas in Indonesia. The fame of kiai Moh Hasan among scholars, habaib and society has many karamah and some other privileges, not even a few from the social recognition of kiai Moh Hasan Genggong, because the kiai are believed to have closeness with God, thus perceived as auliya'Allah. Thus the role and social actions of the kiai above, gave birth to the value system, so as to influence and move the social action of other individuals. The internalization of the aforementioned values becomes social capital in building a spiritual-based transformative leadership, as a strong leadership model and conducts various changes in the social field, by transforming the value of the ethical values.

This article explores the sources of legitimacy of private property in the means of production in Ukraine. The conceptualization of legitimacy of private property was made by analyzing theoretical approaches to the study of the foundations of private property relations in Western countries. The application of these approaches tests economic utilitarian, psychological, and sociocultural explanations of legitimacy of large and small private enterprises and private land in the process of activation of post-communist transition of Ukrainian society. The basic hypothesis was that the process of legitimation of private property in the means of production proceeds by uniting utilitarian and psychological adaptation with sociocultural agreement of ideological attitudes. This hypothesis was verified with the help of created legitimacy indices by comparison of linear regressions and data of the Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) of Ukraine for 2013 and 2017. The results indicate that the hypothesis has been held true only concerning legitimacy of small private enterprises. They have acquired a moderate extent of legitimacy owing to the fact that besides the factors of adaptation, social recognition has increased at the expense of people who support the multiparty system and the liberal and mixed methods of regulation of the economy. In contrast, the existence of large private enterprises and private land has not acquired the corresponding sociocultural foundation.

The article deals with the different effects of tolerant and prohibitionist policies associated with psychoactive substance use in Brazil. Whereas the licit use of ayahuasca has been successfully incorporated into mainstream Brazilian society, the ritual use of cannabis by one of the Santo Daime religious groups has never been fully accepted and remains a constant source of problems for the ayahuasca churches, their followers and society at large.

The agency of women in most African countries is often affected by the socio-economic and political policies that are almost always disadvantageous to women, especially women who have little to no knowledge of their rights. Using the shea industry in Ghana as a case study, I chronicle the challenges as recounted by rural women involved in this home-based work in the Northern Region of Ghana and critically analyse these challenges and their implications. Focusing mainly on the results of my recent field work, I present some of the accounts relating to the lack and exclusion of recognition of and respect for the experiences of rural women who are in fact the linchpin of the shea industry in Ghana. Initiatives and strategies of non-governmental organisations and some governmental policies have attempted to address these challenges that have implications for the livelihoods of rural women. Research and policies have only offered “band-aid solutions” to the economic disempowerment of rural women in the shea industry in Ghana as they have not dealt with the causes. This article seeks to refute the claim that equity exists by indicating the lack of equity and justice in the policies in the shea industry. In an attempt to provide an understanding of the economic disempowerment of women in this industry, I consider my field work as a good source as it exposes the experiences and everyday practices as narrated by rural women in the industry. This article seeks to analyse the existing discourses especially those pertaining to the contributions and experiences of rural women in the shea industry.
