<p class="NoSpacing1">Recent research findings are accumulating evidence that Emotional Intelligence (EI) is associated positively with important work manners. However, the research on Emotional Intelligence is mainly conducted in business field and in western countries; therefore there is a shortage of research on Emotional Intelligence in the context of public sector in Jordan. The aim of this study is to explore the influence of Emotional Intelligence on job performance and job satisfaction as well as the mediating role of job satisfaction on job performance among the administrative employees of the University of Jordan. The present study is based on Mayer and Salovey’s (2000) ability model of Emotional Intelligence. A sample consisted of 354 employees from the University of Jordan who completed self-report questionnaire. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was used in order to test the proposed hypotheses. The research found that Emotional Intelligence is positively correlated with job performance and job satisfaction. The findings of this study also confirm the mediatory role of job satisfaction in relationship between Emotional Intelligence and job performance. It is suggested that Emotional Intelligence can be used to predict job performance and job satisfaction, therefore the understanding of Emotional Intelligence theory and its applications can be promoted for managerial and human resource practices throughout public sector organizations.</p>

This study investigated the influence of emotional intelligence, interpersonal communication and job satisfaction on the job performance of staff in Chevron Nigeria Limited, Warri. Four null hypotheses guided the study. The correlation research design was adopted in the study. A sample of 400 was selected by the researchers using simple random sampling technique. The instrument used for data collection was a validated and reliable questionnaire. Regression statistics was used to test the stated null hypotheses, at 0.05 level of significance. The findings in the study showed that the four null hypotheses were rejected which is an indication that there is a significant relationship between emotional intelligence, interpersonal communication, job satisfaction and job performance of staff in Chevron Nigeria Limited.

Female workers do not always get the same rights as their male colleagues. Many women are forced to dispel their desires to become structural career women because they are unable to compete with men. Therefore, it is necessary to have clear performance measurements to prove that female teachers also have good performance. The research was conducted using explanatory research with a quantitative approach. The test was conducted by SEM analysis techniques using AMOS. The study found a significant influence between Emotional Intelligence on Job Satisfaction as well as Job Satisfaction on Commitment. In the next test it was found that Job Performance was only influenced by family conflict in a negative direction, while Commitment and Job Satisfaction had no effect on Job Performance.

In modern era the increase in stress affects all domain of life. Job stress is a crucial problem and job performance is affected in a positive or negative manner. Job satisfaction and emotional intelligence are two important variables in organizational behavioral studies, and are key factors in promoting the efficiency of organizations. The present study was conducted to determine the correlation of job satisfaction and emotional intelligence of the employees. The study was conducted in 28 private and public primary schools to chalk out the association between job performance and job stress, moderated by using the emotional intelligence. This cross-sectional study was performed on 335 employees of Primary Schools, who were selected using convenient and random stratified method. Pre-tested questionnaires were administered to 335 school teachers to collect the information, which was then analyzed statistically by using the SPSS (23.0) measures. Bar-on emotional intelligence and job satisfaction questionnaires were used in this study. The result revealed that there was a direct positive association between job stress and job performance. This association helped to influence and improve the performance of the staff when moderated by emotional intelligence, which has a highly significant interactive role in this regard. The data were analyzed using statistical methods such as goodness of fit tests and regression and correlation analyses.
