By introducing environmental mediator, for avoiding randomness in selecting indicators and subjectivity in deciding interaction path coefficients to reveal interaction mechanism among forest industry, ecology and environmental capacity, structural Pressure–State–Impact–Response (PSIR) and quantitative Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) are utilized with data on thirty–one provinces of China. We can find that: (i) forest industry has a negative influence on ecology, whereas ecology has a positive influence on industry; (ii) the destructive influence that industry has on ecology is much greater than the positive effect ecology has on industry; and (iii) environmental capacity plays a partial mediating role between industry and ecology. According to these results we can conclude that: (i) forest industry and ecology are not in a symbiotic relationship and have not reached a level of ecological security; (ii) the interaction between industry and ecology is in a period of transition from antagonistic to beneficial; and (iii) industry dominates ecology. However, we prospect the following advice: (i) methods of forest industry should be changed; (ii) new modes of industrial integration and circular economy should be developed; and (iii) the ability of the environment to sustain itself should be enhanced. The level of forest ecological security to discuss the symbiotic mechanism of industry and ecology will propose to be measured in future.

This study contributes to the stream of research on job embeddedness and internal marketing. Greater attention needs to be paid to understand the mechanisms and processes through which internal marketing influences work-related attitudes such as turnover intention in order to develop complete understanding of the effect of internal marketing on job embeddedness. This study fills this research gap using a sample of respondents employed by telecommunication companies in Egypt. The author examines whether job embeddedness mediated the effects of internal marketing on turnover intention. Results from Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) showed that job embeddedness fully mediates the relationship between internal marketing and turnover intention. Results also support that internal marketing has obviously positive influence on job embeddedness and a clearly negative influence on turnover intention; finally, internal marketing has direct and indirect influences on turnover intention through job embeddedness. Implications for research and practice of the findings are discussed.

Objectives: This study aimed to examine the direct and indirect effects of maternal overprotection on the development of young children’s social competence through their anxiety. In this study, maternal overprotection was defined as anxiously shielding their young children from having negative experiences and maintaining developmentally inappropriate intrusive and permissive parenting for their children. Methods: Participants were 183 mothers and 18 teachers with young children aged from four to six years. Mothers rated themselves on the degree of their overprotecting behaviors measured by a maternal overprotection scale for young children (Y. S. Chung & Park, 2021). Teachers rated young children’s anxiety and social competence. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and a structural equation model. Bootstrapping method was applied to examine the significance of the mediating effects. Results: First, there were significant correlations between maternal overprotection, young children’s anxiety and social competence. Second, structural equation modeling supported the hypothesized relations among maternal overprotection, young children’s anxiety and social competence after controlling with young children’s gender, maternal academic background, and monthly household income. And the level of young children’s anxiety mediated the relationship between overprotective parenting and young children’s social competence. Conclusion: This study showed that mother’s overprotective parenting was associated with varying levels of young children’s anxiety and social competence. Additionally the maternal overprotection linked with children’s social competence indirectly through their anxiety. These findings offer basic knowledge applicable to parent education and the for the development of program for improving parenting behaviors. The limitations and other implications of this study are also discussed.

Abstract This study aimed to empirically test some variables related to Performance-Based Budgeting (PBB) and Performance Measurement System (PMS) implementation in the local government, namely Special Region of Yogyakarta, Indonesia. This study applied the mixed-methods approach with sequential explanatory strategy (QUANTITATIVE to Qualitative). Quantitative stage was conducted by testing the hypothesis using the Structural Equation Model (SEM) approach. On the qualitative stage, the interview was conducted to dig more information on the unsupported hypothesis. From the result of the hypothesis testing, it was discovered that the limitation of information system had a negative influence, while education had a positive influence towards the effectiveness of PBB. Furthermore, the effectiveness of PBB had a positive influence towards budget absorption, and the accountability also had a positive influence towards the use of performance information to practice the arrangement of PPB. Meanwhile, the qualitative analysis produced the finding that there were practices of PBB that could still be done manually and it was not supported by information technology. Besides, the implementation of PMS and PBB was more because of the coercive pressure rather than consciousness of normative apparatus.

This study examines the relationships between quality, innovation, competitiveness, and financial performance of firms. Data were obtained from a questionnaire survey involving 223 Saudi companies and were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results indicate that innovation positively influences quality and the latter has a significant positive influence on the competitiveness of the firms. As expected, both quality and innovation indicators have an indirect influence on the financial performance of the firms through competitiveness. Therefore, this study discovers the important mediating role played by competitiveness in the positive effects of quality and innovation on financial performance of the firms. Finally, we found significant positive effects of competitiveness on financial performance of the firms. Managerial implications are also discussed.
