Creative thinking is increasingly recognised as an essential ability that should be part of school curricula. Given the move towards online learning and assessment, we investigate whether mathematical creativity can be assessed at-scale in the Numbers game, an arithmetic game in Math Garden, a popular online math practice platform. In the Numbers game, a generalisation of the 24 Game, children are asked to figure out how to compute a target number using basic arithmetic operations and a given set of numbers. We argue that creative thinking is required when the search space is complex, and propose that the base-pattern, i.e., the sequence of the operations needed to solve a Numbers game item, indicates search space complexity. We then demonstrate that items with disordered base-patterns are more likely to require mathematical creativity to figure out. Specifically, our analysis shows that for items with only one solution sequence, those with disordered base-patterns are more difficult and take longer to solve compared to items with ordered base-patterns. For items where multiple solution sequences are possible, nine times out of ten children choose ordered over disordered base-patterns. We conclude that the Numbers game has potential for assessing mathematical creativity at-scale.

The National Association for Gifted Children and The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics both call for problem posing. This article illustrates the strategies used during a series of three Three-Act Tasks to foster second grade students’ abilities to problem pose. The students’ problem posing improved across the three Three-Act Tasks and revealed mathematically creative thinking. To support and encourage the students to problem pose, the teacher asked generative questions, modeled various problems, provided concrete manipulatives, and had the students create their own sequel to the Three-Act Tasks.

The purpose of this research is to measure the effectiveness of constructivist learning approach in structural study specifically for architecture students. Theoretically, improving student’s performance in mathematics is challenging for today education. In architectural education, structural study is part of the non- design courses in the syllabus under the area of technology and environment and it involve in mathematical calculations. In the context of typical classrooms that adopt conventional teaching method, students are usually taught using structured rules based on the given academic syllabus. However, teaching architecture students need a different approach. This is because architecture students learn by understanding the application into practice rather than by only solving the principleproblem. Purposive sampling which is the Torrance Test of Creative Thinking (TTCT) was selected as the method of the study and teaching experiment was conducted. In the experimental structural design, 26 groups of architecture students were tested based on two situations; pre-test (original) and post-test (change), and tests are conducted according to the stages and times set for each topic. The experiment was designed based on the Constructivist learning approach as foundation of the experiment to study the mathematical creativity of the students. The findings show that there are positive impacts on creativity in the subject of structural study which beneficially affects their understanding and application abilities. Further research needs to done to ensure this beneficial outcome can be greatly support students’ long-term retention of knowledge and skills. This study aims to: (1) analyze the level of creative thinking possessed by each class XI students of Building Drawing Technique (BDT); and (2) analyze the influence of the level of thinking on the learning outcomes of the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. This type of research is correlational research through a quantitative approach method. The population in this study were all students in building expertise competencies at SMK Negeri 1 Nganjuk which included Geomatics and BDT. The sample used in this study was XI BDT class students. The instrument used in analyzing the level of creative thinking (LCT) is a problem-solving test sheet of the type of multiple solution tasks. The data analysis technique uses a linear regression test. The results of the study concluded that: (1) there were as many as 4 students included in the category of LCT 4 (very creative), there were 12 students included in the category of LCT 3 (creative), there are 11 students included in the category 2 LCT (quite creative), there are no students included in the category of LCT 1 (less creative), and there are as many as 11 students who included in the category of LCT 0 (not creative); (2) there is a significant influence between the level of creative thinking on the cognitive and psychomotor learning outcomes; and (3) there is a very significant influence between the level of creative thinking on the affective learning outcomes of class XI BDT students.

[English]: This study examined the effect of Problem-based Learning (PBL) on students' creative mathematical thinking in Indonesia during the last eight years using meta-analysis. Data were obtained from primary studies published in national journals, conference proceedings, and master thesis from 2012 to 2020. This study analyzed 19 effect sizes from 19 primary studies that fulfill the inclusion criteria. The effect size index used the Hedges' g equation and statistical analysis was assisted by comprehensive meta-analysis (CMA) software. The effect size variation test was conducted by analyzing the study's five characteristics, namely the year of study, level of education, sample size, length of treatment, and publication sources. Based on the analysis results, the overall effect size was 0.821, with a standard error of 0.130 at the 95% confidence interval (CI) referring to the random-effects model. The effect size is classified as moderate, meaning that PBL has a moderately positive effect on students' creative mathematical  thinking. The results of the analysis of the characteristics of the study show that the application of PBL to improve students' mathematical creative thinking relates to the research year (Q = 55.683; p <0.05), the treatment duration (Q = 5.644; p <0.05), and publication sources (Q = 13.812; p <0.05). It was found that the PBL was more effective in conditions of treatment duration of fewer than four meetings. There is a tendency that PBL has a significant impact when it is first implemented. The findings' implications are discussed to provide important information as a basic idea for further PBL research and implementation. Data diperoleh dari studi primer yang telah dipublikasikan di jurnal nasional, prosiding konferensi, dan tesis master tahun 2012-2020. Penelitian ini menganalisis 19 ukuran efek dari 19 studi primer yang memenuhi kriteria penyertaan. Indeks ukuran efek menggunakan persamaan Hedges' g dan analisis statistik dibantu oleh perangkat lunak comprehensive meta-analysis (CMA). Pengujian variasi ukuran efek dilakukan dengan menganalisis lima karakteristik penelitian yaitu tahun studi, tingkat pendidikan, ukuran sampel, lama perawatan, dan sumber publikasi. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, ukuran efek keseluruhan adalah 0,821, dengan kesalahan standar 0,130 pada interval kepercayaan 95% (CI) menurut model efek acak. Ukuran efek tergolong sedang, artinya penggunaan PBL berpengaruh positif sedang terhadap berpikir kreatif matematis siswa. Hasil analisis karakteristik penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan PBL untuk meningkatkan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa berkaitan dengan tahun penelitian (Q = 55,683; p <0,05), durasi perlakuan (Q = 5,644; p <0,05) , dan sumber publikasi (Q = 13.812; p <0.05). Ditemukan bahwa PBL lebih efektif pada kondisi durasi perlakuan kurang dari 4 pertemuan. Terdapat kecenderungan bahwa PBL berdampak besar saat pertama kali diterapkan. Implikasi hasil penelitian dibahas untuk memberikan informasi penting sebagai ide dasar untuk penelitian dan implementasi PBL selanjutnya. A good country is a country that is able to deal with any changes quickly. Preparing good human resources is the best way to deal with it. The 2013 curriculum is designed to prepare qualified generations, one of which is having the ability to think creatively. A person's thinking ability is of course different, so is his personality. This study aims to describe the profile of students' creative mathematical thinking sensing and intuitive personality types in solving mathematical problems. This research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. There were 4 subjects in this study, 2 students with sensing personality types and 2 student subjects with intuitive personality types. The data obtained in the study were personality test results, interview tests and problem solving tests. Problem solving tests were analyzed using TTCT based on existing components. The results show that students with intuitive personality types have a higher level of creativity than students with sensing personality types. These differences can be seen from the way students respond to problems or problems given. Students with intuitive personalities more quickly adjust to the problems given. While students with sensing personality need considerable time in terms of adjusting to the problems given.

This research aims to analyze high school students’ creative thinking in solving mathematical problems based on learning motivation during online learning. This type of research is qualitative descriptive research. Five tenth grade students with different levels of learning motivation during online learning, each of which is a representative of the very good and good learning motivation group were chosen to be the subjects of this research. The instruments used in this research were an learning motivation questionnaire during online learning to measure the level of student learning motivation during online learning, mathematics problems to test students’ creative thinking, and interview guidelines. The data on the results of the learning motivation questionnaire during online learning were analyzed using the Likert scale, the data on the results of the creative thinking test were analyzed based on components of creative thinking fluency, flexibility, novelty and the interview data were analyzed using the Analysis Interactive method from Miles and Huberman. The results of this study indicate that not all students with very good levels of motivation during online learning meet the components of creative thinking fluency, flexibility, and novelty. Students with a good level of motivation during online learning meet the creative thinking component, namely fluency.

Technology and education are now required for the development of 21st century skills. The purpose of this study was to determine 1) the practicality of STEAM-based e-Modules in online learning, 2) the importance of STEAM-based e-Modules in online learning, and 3) the improvement of students' creative thinking skills in fifth grade on the content "My Blood Circulation is Healthy." A total of 16 students were employed in the study. Questionnaires and tests were utilized as data gathering instruments. Problem and need analysis, literature review, product design, validation, and practitioner testing were the stages of development. The findings revealed that pupils' low creative thinking abilities were attributed to teachers' failure to adequately embrace technology and their continued usage of traditional instructional materials. The STEAM-based e-Module development improved creative thinking skills of Grade 5 students.

This study aims to determine the ability of mathematical creative thinking students who learn using the Problem Based Learning approach. The population in this study were students of SMP 1 Jatisari class VIII A in Sukamaju Village which consisted of 18 students and 12 female students. This study was a quasi-experimental study using the results of a trial test pretest-posttest experimental control group. The instrument used in this study is a test to measure mathematical creative thinking skills in the form of 5 questions. Then the score data of students' mathematical creative thinking ability were analyzed statistically by using a difference test of two average values from the results of the pretest-posttest. The results showed that students' creative mathematical thinking ability using the Problem Based Learning approach was different from the results of the pretest-posttest. Besides that students also showed positive perceptions of problem-based learning and there were good results on mathematical creative thinking skills.

The Curriculum of 2013 mandates that learning carried out by teachers in the classroom can foster a high-level thinking process including the ability to think creatively. Modules that can help creative students have been developed but not as good as the help of the GeoGebra Software module that can promote student’s creative thinking. This research focuses on the effectiveness of the tangent equation curve module GeoGebra Software assisted which aimed to make the students have the ability to think creatively. The subjects of the research were students of class XI of SMA 3 Banda Aceh. The instruments carried out in this research were creative thinking questions and observation sheets. Data analysis was performed by using descriptive analysis techniques. This research showed that the students' mathematical creative thinking ability was 85.98% which included in very good and good category, and overall student activity reached 91.1%. it means that the activities of students have run well. In conclusion, the teachers and students can use this module to improve mathematical creative thinking skills and the interest of students in learning mathematics assisted by GeoGebra software.
