<em>Evacuation system in Mount Merapi eruption area consist of evacuation component, such early warning system, meeting point, evacuation lane, evacuation route, barrack, communication and transportation. The role of the goverment is to give services for refugees who live in scenario evacuation area. But there are some constrains, for example damaged road, evacuation lane crossover the bridge, people don’t heard the early warning system and high density of barracks. Based on those phenomenons, this research objected is to measure the feasibility of Mount Merapi evacuation system in Sleman district by using qualitative and quantitative method. The results of this research, some of evacuation systems don’t have perfect score. Early warning system has score 49%,  meeting point score 96,2%, evacuation lane 88,7%, evacuation route 100%, barracks 60,7%, transportation and communication 51,8%. From that components, the average score is 75% which means the system of evacuation in Mount Merapi Eruption Area not feasible yet.</em>

Padang city has a variety of regions including coastal. The city of Padang is very vulnerable to coastal disaster (Coastal Hazard). In response to these statements, it is necessary to optimize the Multi-Hazard Early Warning System (MHEWS) for contingencies against coastal hazard referring to the four major components of MHEWS according to UNISDR. Hotels are kind of many public buildings that may be used as shelters. The purpose of this study is to assess the hotel contingencies in Padang city against coastal hazard. To achieve the goal, some near the beach hotels have been selected as the object of research. The selected hotels are five of four-star hotels, one of one-star hotel, and three for two-star hotels. The research results are processed by qualitative and quantitative analytic methods. The assessment then concludes that contingency afford is effected by the level hotel star. The important things that need to be planned for the hotel contingency against the coastal hazard are the evacuation route map and the signs of evacuation direction in the easy place to find.

All disasters experienced by Indonesia in the last years has developed anawareness of the fragility and vulnerability. At this time, the disastermanagement is currently insufficient anymore. The disaster management gain anew dimension with UU 24/ 2007 and followed some related regulations.Mitigation program implemented by BPBD Banjarnegara includes Structuraland Non Structural Mitigation has been completed well. For example, disasterdatabase, installation of Early Warning System (EWS), information andsocialization, training and disaster simulation. In the future, mitigation will be focused on public education. Thegovernment should implement the hazard maps, environmental improvement, evacuation route, installation of low-cost EWS at all location, and relocation. inadditon, whole villages must become village disaster response (desa tanggapbencana).Key words : landslides; structural mitigation; non structural mitigation.

This design fiction re-imagines an important informational element of the flood early warning system in order to unpack some of the questionable assumptions that society makes about disaster. In presenting an updated, ironic, vision of an alternative system, we highlight some of the ways that received ideas about the root causes of disaster, who is responsible for public safety, and the role of private sector innovation, are so embedded in the design of technologies used in crisis management that they have become taken for granted. This work demonstrates the potential for design fiction to serve as a tool in the evaluation and critique of safety-critical information systems and as a communication tool for conveying the complex findings of disaster research. It also points to new avenues of exploration for crisis informatics work on public warning systems.

This article reports on the Child Poverty Action Group Early Warning System (EWS), a database of case studies representing social security issues reported directly by frontline benefits advice workers and benefit claimants. It outlines what data from the EWS can tell us about how the social security system is functioning and how it has responded during the pandemic. It further details how insights from the EWS can be used by researchers and policymakers seeking to understand the role of social security in supporting families living on a low income and in advocating for short- and longer-term policy change.

<p><em>Improvement is needed in the early warning system and information services of Indonesia Agency for Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics (Badan Meteorologi, Klimatologi dan Geofisika-BMKG) in term of speed, and accessibility by rural communities. This paper analyzes the factors related to the motivation and competency of BMKG employees’ performance in giving information services related to early warning system. The aim is to determine the effect of motivation and competency partially and simultaneously toward BMKG’s employees performance. Using quantitative method with proportionate stratified random sampling technique, total 80 respondents were interviewed among 389 population of BMKG’s employees who work on Deputy of Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics. The result indicated that the motivation and competency have significant impact to the BMKG’s employees performance. R2 is 0.832 which means that the motivation and competency simultaneously have significant impact to employees performance about 83.2% while the remaining 16.8% influenced by others variable outside the variables studied. The data analyzed using double linear regression in SPSS version 24,  the equation regression obtained is: Y= 9,429 + 0,408X1 + 0,822X2, indicating that effect of motivation factor is lower than competency factor toward employees performance. Therefore BMKG Head Office needs to improve the competency of employees more than motivate them in order to improve its performance on information services and disaster early warning.</em></p>
