<div id="articleAbstract"><div>Research aim are (1) to map using of farm present land use in Mojolaban district, (2) to know fast displace agriculture farm function year period 2000 up to 2007, and (3) to know factors causing the happening of displacing agriculture farm function by identifying using of farm after displace function. Displace agriculture farm function in Mojolaban district Sukoharjo regency known by determining wide of the each type land use farm in the year and then comparing them in next year. Mapping of land use farm agriculture as reference first time is Aspect Earth Map Bakosurtanal 2000 year. Mapping of land use type on 2003 got from IKONOS satellite that passes Google Earth media. Mapping of land use type on 2007 got with direct field survey, by using previous image and map as activity map. Result of the research indicate that (1) farming in Mojoloban district during range ot time 2000, 2003 and 2007 had displace farm function; land use field farm type from 2.615 ha (2000) decreased to become 2.562 ha (2003) and then decrease again become 2.549 ha (2007), non irrigated dry field type from 62 ha (2000) decreased to become 39 ha (2003)and then decrease again become 35 ha (2007), garden type from 22 ha (2000) decreased to become 18 ha (2003) and remain 18 ha (2007), and settlement type from 1.117 ha (2000) increased to become 1.198 ha (2003) and then increased become 1.215 ha (2007), and (2) factor causing displace agriculture farm function to non agriculture are increasing of resident population, agriculture sector failed to compete, desreasing of agriculture and basic facilities, higher rice selling price field by developer and strategic rice field farm situation.</div></div>

<span>The research has aims to know ; (1) the velocity of function displace of the rice field to the non rice field during year period 2000, 2004 and 2008, (2) change grain product during year period 2000, 2004 and 2008, and (3) the relationship between the velocity of function displace of the rice field to the non rice field and the grain production during year period 2000, 2004 and 2008. Function displace of the rice field in the Kebabakkramat District known by determining the wide of each land use type in the appointed year, and then comparing it with data in the next year. The first mapping was based on the Map of Rupa Bumi Bakosurtanal which made in 2000. The second mapping was based on the image QUICK BIRD 2004 which published in the internet media Google Earth. And the third mapping determined by field survey in the 2008. Result of the research shows that ; (1) rice field in the Kebakkramat District along period 2000 until 2008 had function displace, 2.571,89 ha (2000) decreased to become 2.153,33 ha (2004), and decreased again to become 2.128,11 ha (2008), (2) grain production in the Kebakkramat District along period 2000 until 2007 shows increasing trend, 39.880 ton (2000) increased to become 40.631 ton (2003), but decreased to become 35.354 ton (2004), and increased again to become 43.062 ton (2007), (3) although wide of the rice field decreased, but the grain production increased, because increasing its land productivity caused by continuity of the rice field intensification program.</span>

Tendency of land use conversion is followed by maximum discharge of Kreo River, but unknown land use type what which can race improvement of runoff. Purpose of the research is study the relation of rainfall runoff at forest, rice field, and mixed garden. Research about rainfall runoff study is including research type of experiment for purpose of descriptive, through observation of rain data and water level at small watershed with one land use types that is forest, rice field, and mixed garden. Instrument of rain and water level attached at small watershed during the rains 2007.Data analysis comprises analysis of stream hydrograph, rain analysis, stream coefficient, and statistic analysis as well. Big the so small runoff value is more determined by rainfall amounts happened non land use type. Number of big rains at one land use will yield big runoff also, while the same rainfall amounts at some land use types will yield varying runoff follows land use type and condition of soil At small watershed (less than 200 ha), the relation of rainfall (P) with direct runoff (DRO) has very strong correlation (R2 bigger than 0.7). Relation between rain intensity (I) with DRO; I with peak discharge (Qp); duration of rain (DR) with DRO; DR with Qp indicated weak reaction (R2 less than 0.3). It indicated there were many factors (more than 70%) which influenced the above mentioned relations. Runoff coefficient value at forest was 0,3566, mix forest was 0,4227, rice field was 0,6661, and mixed garden was 0,4227. Land ability to permeate in the forest (65%) is bigger than mixed garden (57%) and rice field (33%).

AbstractThe present study, for the first time, examined land-use land cover (LULC), changes using GIS, between 2000 and 2018 for the IIT Bombay campus, India. Objective was to evaluate hydro-ecological balance inside campus by determining spatio-temporal disparity between hydrological parameters (rainfall-runoff processes), ecological components (forest, vegetation, lake, barren land), and anthropogenic stressors (urbanization and encroachments). High-resolution satellite imageries were generated for the campus using Google Earth Pro, by manual supervised classification method. Rainfall patterns were studied using secondary data sources, and surface runoff was estimated using SCS-CN method. Additionally, reconnaissance surveys, ground-truthing, and qualitative investigations were conducted to validate LULC changes and hydro-ecological stability. LULC of 2018 showed forest, having an area cover of 52%, as the most dominating land use followed by built-up (43%). Results indicated that the area under built-up increased by 40% and playground by 7%. Despite rapid construction activities, forest cover and Powai lake remained unaffected. This anomaly was attributed to the drastically declining barren land area (up to ~ 98%) encompassing additional construction activities. Sustainability of the campus was demonstrated with appropriate measures undertaken to mitigate negative consequences of unwarranted floods owing to the rise of 6% in the forest cover and a decline of 21% in water hyacinth cover over Powai lake. Due to this, surface runoff (~ 61% of the rainfall) was observed approximately consistent and being managed appropriately despite major alterations in the LULC. Study concluded that systematic campus design with effective implementation of green initiatives can maintain a hydro-ecological balance without distressing the environmental services.

AbstractChanges in land use type can lead to variations in soil water characteristics. The objective of this study was to identify the responses of soil water holding capacity (SWHC) and soil water availability (SWA) to land use type (grassland, shrubland and forestland). The soil water characteristic curve describes the relationship between gravimetric water content and soil suction. We measured the soil water characteristic parameters representing SWHC and SWA, which we derived from soil water characteristic curves, in the 0–50 cm soil layer at sites representing three land use types in the Ziwuling forest region, located in the central part of the Loess Plateau, China. Our results showed that the SWHC was higher at the woodland site than the grassland and shrubland, and there was no significant difference between the latter two sites, the trend of SWA was similar to the SWHC. From grassland to woodland, the soil physical properties in the 0–50 cm soil layer partially improved, BD was significantly higher at the grassland site than at the shrubland and woodland sites, the clay and silt contents decreased significantly from grassland to shrubland to woodland and sand content showed the opposite pattern, the soil porosity was higher in the shrubland and woodland than that in the grassland, the soil physical properties across the 0–50 cm soil layer improved. Soil texture, porosity and bulk density were the key factors affecting SWHC and SWA. The results of this study provide insight into the effects of vegetation restoration on local hydrological resources and can inform soil water management and land use planning on the Chinese Loess Plateau.

Denitrification potential was significantly influenced by land use type where it was lower in organic and forest than in semi-improved and improved grassland soils.
