Technological advancements affect many areas, including education. Proven to bring positive impacts in education, ICT is greatly expected in teaching, learning and assessment. Hence, there is a greater necessity for teachers and lectures to integrate ICT into their teaching, learning, and assessment. This study focuses on the assessment instrument for Grammar course of higher education for English Language Education Study Program. The analysis showed that the ICT Competences integration in the assessment instrument did not reach the levels that are meant for higher education based on standard frameworks UNESCO ICT Competency, EPG and the CEFR. This study aims to design ICT competences-integrated grammar assessment instruments for undergraduate English Language Education Study Program by using standard frameworks UNESCO ICT CFT, EPG and the CEFR. This study adapted Design and Development Research by Peffers. Based on the international standard frameworks, the results of the analyses suggest that the ICT competences of the existing assessment instruments are in the basic phase of EPG and knowledge acquisition level of UNESCO ICT Competency Framework. And the grammatical features are spread from level A2 to C1. Thus, the study proposed a design of ICT Competences-integrated grammar assessment instruments for English Language Education Study Program. Keywords: ICT competence; assessment instruments; UNESCO ICT; EPG.

This study aims at designing ICT competences – integrated assessment instruments of English Language Assessment and Language Assessment Instrument Development courses for English Language Education Study Program by analyzing the existing assessment instruments from five universities in Indonesia. The analysis involved the ICT competences proposed by UNESCO and Digital Media and Assessment Descriptors of English Profiling Grid (EPG). The study applied Design and Development Research (DDR) as the research design and qualitative as the research method. The used stages of DDR in this study are Identify Problem; Describe the Objectives, Design and Develop the Prototypes and Validate the Prototypes. The result of the study found that ICT competences are mostly integrated in the use of word-processing of the existing assessment instruments as a tool which use hardware such as computer, laptop and printer as well as software such as Windows/Mac and Microsoft Word by using features on them such as page layout, margins, table, font type and size, numbering, space and grammar checker. Then the researcher tried to provide the procedure of ICT competences integration and the design of ICT competences integrated – Language Assessment Instrument Development course.

Taking further action to the ubiquitous previous researches about the importance and advantages of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) employment in education, the researchers were motivated to conduct a research about designing ICT competences-integrated syllabuses of Grammar courses for English Language Education Study Program (ELESP). This research employed Design and Development Research (DDR) adapting Cunningham’s concept (Gall, Gall, & Borg, 2003), and produced a set of ICT competences-integrated syllabuses of grammar courses for ELESP which consisted of basic, intermediate and advanced level. To design the syllabuses, the researchers initially analyzed 15 grammar syllabuses from eight different universities for their accommodation of ICT competences. The analysis revealed that the ICT employment in the existing syllabuses were scarce yet dominated with merely use for Technology Literacy that dominantly presented in the components of Assessments, Learning Media, and/or Learning methods. These findings showed that the existing syllabuses did not sufficiently employ ICT, neither purposely and systematically improve students’ ICT competences. To fill these gaps, the proposed syllabuses were systematically used ICT to enhance students’ ICT competences. Furthermore, the ICT integration in the designed syllabuses spread over most of the syllabus’ components which not only meant for Technology Literacy but also for Knowledge Deepening and Knowledge Creation. Abstract The purpose of this research was to design ICT competences-integrated Language Awareness (English Phonetics and Phonology, English Morphology and Syntax, and English Socio-pragmatic) assessment instruments for English Language Education Study Program (ELESP). The Design and Development Research (DDR) acommodatesthis research to produce the models and principles guided by the design, development, and evaluation processes. The data of this research are final test of assessment instruments from five Universities existing assessment instruments of English Language Education Study Program, UNESCO document, European Profiling Grid (EPG) document, and Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). The reseacher conducts three phases: need analysis, where the writeranalyses the existing assessment instruments of five universities and compare them to ICT competences of EPG, information gathering, and prototypical design. The findings shows the ICT competences of five universities on Technology Literacy of UNESCO. The research results are the procedures to design Table of Specification (ToS), the design ICT competences-integrated in Table of Specification, and design ICT competences-integrated in test and non-test of Language Awareness assessment instruments. Keywords: Assessment instruments, ICT competences, Table of Specification, andLanguage Awareness.

The aims of this research is to find out whether or not there is a significant relationship between students’ motivation and their listening achievement. Quantitative method was applied in this research with correlation design. The population of the study was the second semester students of English Language Education Study Program of Khairun University academic year 2016/2017. The sample of this research consisted of 30 students and they were selected by using convenience sampling technique. The data were collected through questionnaire and listening scores. The result of this research shows that r is -0.28. This relationship is small (low) because r value is between 0.10 and 0.29. The result could be classified that the relationship between the two variables is not significant because the r is small (low). It means that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) stating that there is a significant relationship between students’ motivation and their listening achievement is rejected and null hypothesis (Ho) stating that there is no significant relationship between students’ motivation and their listening achievement is accepted. This suggests that students with high motivation do not guarantee high achievement in learning listening comprehension.Keyword : Relationship, motivation, listening achievement
