In the current era of the development of the infrastructure industry, the building material industry in Indonesia has developed very rapidly along with the increasing national economic conditions and innovative technological advancements. Given the demands and encouragement from the industrial world, the Building Material Science Course is expected to be a means to shape these competencies by looking at the relevance of the development of innovative building materials, so that graduates are expected to produce students who have up-to-date knowledge and competencies related to materials building in the industrial world. The purpose of this article is to increase knowledge and information related to the development of building materials, especially buildings in the industrial world, through the study of Building Materials Science. The method used is the literature review. Literature study results show that learning from lectures is able to contribute to the increase in knowledge and competencies related to the development of building materials that are relevant to the industrial world, one of which is the Building Materials Science Course. The more competence of students regarding building materials, the building in any form can be easily realized when working in the industrial world.

Building material industry can absorb lots of scrap of chemical industry, metallurgical industry and coal industry. Through our further study on the application of cyclic economy in the building materials industry, we initially summarize the co-production models between building materials industry and other industries, such as coal, metallurgy and mining, based on the recycling economy. The models also represent the basic patterns which can recycle mineral resources and reuse energy efficially. We advice some possible countermeasures though analysis of the domestic application of these models in the current problems and challenges.

The purpose of article writing is to conduct a policy review of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries regarding the prohibition of trade in ornamental materials for the sustainability of community welfare. The research method used is a literature study to understand the relevant problems. On Mid-August 2016, the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries made a policy to prohibit the sale and purchase of ornamental coral in any form. This policy was made due to the higher level of coral damage. The policy provides a negative impact on the sustainability of life and income of fishermen and entrepreneurs engaged in ornamental coral. The results of LIPI's research through the COREMAP-CTI program assess coral damage caused by climate change, besides fishing activities with environmentally friendly fishing gear such as bombs and poisons that cause coral damage. The conclusion of this article states that coral trade is not the main cause of damage to coral reefs in Indonesia, so the policies issued by the MMAF will have a negative impact on the social and economic conditions of the people who depend on the trade in ornamental corals. Keywords: ornamental coral, policy, trading

Some of the most successful companies in Indonesia come from Family Companies that can reach 3 generations. The organizational culture in the family company is largely determined by the mindset of the family company actors. Besides, many family companies cannot articulate their core values (Family Values) into values that can be applied to business, which must be exemplified by company Leaders. This study aims to examine the concepts of Mindset, Family Value, and Leadership in Organizational Culture. The object of this study is a family company which is engaged in building materials business. The population in this study was all employees at building material companies in Surabaya, with a sample of 30 building material company owners as respondents. The analysis technique used in this study is Partial Least Square (PLS). Based on the study results, it shows that (1) mindset has a significant effect on the organizational culture of the building material family company. (2) Leadership has a significant effect on the organizational culture of the building material family company. (3) Family values have a significant effect on the organizational culture of the building material family company in Surabaya.

The one of important matter of the design of tunnel is that choosing of the building materials and to make away rock material from tunnel walls or surface. Another important point is that these factors are effective for the building of tunnel process. It is necessary to investigation detailed the matters such as choosing the route of tunnel, the method of excavation, design of tunnel, choosing of the building material, to preparing to application Project, revision of the Project, recycling of the rest materials etc. The one of important duty of engineer is that to realize the importance of security and economic conditions together. It isn't random the economic and timing work about this type of project, on the contrary it is definitely depending on good geotechnical and geological pre-research. The research which is along the route of tunnel supply economic and feasible work for the Project. The unit of in this book we will describe the methodology of tunnel building by using suit geotechnical and geological processes.

Globalization and urbanization growth are disbalancing the nature by creating technology and by increasing population respectively. Population growth is generating trash including the non-renewable ones. Use and throw objects came into existence and as a result, created wastes. After decades, the waste is generating beyond limits that it has created the mountain like piles in the landfills, which is creating hazards for the environment and human health. A better approach to reduce the waste is to recycle and reuse them as an alternative solution to building material industry. The question which arises here is that if wastes should be recycled or reused; what all are the waste materials which can be reused in building material industry without harming the environment. The recycling of waste materials produces lot of demerits to environment and human health. Polyethylene and rubber tires are being used in preparing the roads, plastic bottles are being used to build walls, fly ash is used in bricks etc. measures are being taken. The research paper will try to do a detailed SWOT analysis to find a suitable reusable waste material for building material industry, which will be environment friendly. The plastic waste, construction demolition waste and transport industry waste are the wastes that can be reused as building materials. The 3 wastes have the ability to withstand calamities and loads, are easy to build with, cheap, clean and has passed the structural tests. The paper intends to provide the information regarding the construction with the help of the 3 materials. This approach will help to manage the waste, build a sustainable environment, lower the greenhouse gases, maintain the natural resources etc.

In the process of development of architectural views on modern construction, there is a gradual change of urban planning policies and construction in general. One of the modern trends in design focusing on sustainable, energy efficient and environmentally friendly architecture creates a demand for new materials and products that reflect modern achievements in the field of building materials science. A variety of spatial planning options for buildings and structures emphasizes the diversification of building materials. At the same time, concrete as a basic building material has a huge potential in improving and adapting to solutions of environmental problems of the modern world.

Monitoring of warehouse inventory data processing is an important thing for companies. PT Talaga mulya indah is still manual using paper media, causing problems that have an effect on existing information, namely: problems with data processing of incoming and outgoing goods. And the difference between data on the amount of stock of goods available with physical data, often occurs inputting data more than once for the same item, searching for available data, and making reports so that it impedes companies in monitoring inventory of existing stock of goods. Which aims to create a system that can provide updated information to facilitate the warehouse admin in making inventory reports, and reduce errors in input by means of integrated control. In this study, the authors used the data collection method used in this analysis using the method of observation, interviews, and literature review (literature study). For analysis using the PIECES analysis method. Furthermore, the system design used is UML (Unified Modeling Language). The results of this study are expected to produce the right data in the process of monitoring inventory data processing, also can provide the right information and make it easier to control the overall availability of goods.

Payment in the Malaysian construction industry has generally been an issue of concern. Late and non-payment problem is endemic in construction and needs to be addressed. The aim of this study is to investigate the issues related to late and non-payment based on the building materials suppliers’ perspective. Questionnaires were distributed to suppliers of building materials in the Klang Valley. Findings from the study shows the main cause of late and non-payment is the paymaster’s poor financial management while the main effect of late and non-payment is problem with the cash flow.  The most recommended possible solution to cope with the issue is for the paymaster to conduct training on financial and cash flow management to the management team in the company.
