The one of important matter of the design of tunnel is that choosing of the building materials and to make away rock material from tunnel walls or surface. Another important point is that these factors are effective for the building of tunnel process. It is necessary to investigation detailed the matters such as choosing the route of tunnel, the method of excavation, design of tunnel, choosing of the building material, to preparing to application Project, revision of the Project, recycling of the rest materials etc. The one of important duty of engineer is that to realize the importance of security and economic conditions together. It isn't random the economic and timing work about this type of project, on the contrary it is definitely depending on good geotechnical and geological pre-research. The research which is along the route of tunnel supply economic and feasible work for the Project. The unit of in this book we will describe the methodology of tunnel building by using suit geotechnical and geological processes.

In the current era of the development of the infrastructure industry, the building material industry in Indonesia has developed very rapidly along with the increasing national economic conditions and innovative technological advancements. Given the demands and encouragement from the industrial world, the Building Material Science Course is expected to be a means to shape these competencies by looking at the relevance of the development of innovative building materials, so that graduates are expected to produce students who have up-to-date knowledge and competencies related to materials building in the industrial world. The purpose of this article is to increase knowledge and information related to the development of building materials, especially buildings in the industrial world, through the study of Building Materials Science. The method used is the literature review. Literature study results show that learning from lectures is able to contribute to the increase in knowledge and competencies related to the development of building materials that are relevant to the industrial world, one of which is the Building Materials Science Course. The more competence of students regarding building materials, the building in any form can be easily realized when working in the industrial world.

Payment in the Malaysian construction industry has generally been an issue of concern. Late and non-payment problem is endemic in construction and needs to be addressed. The aim of this study is to investigate the issues related to late and non-payment based on the building materials suppliers’ perspective. Questionnaires were distributed to suppliers of building materials in the Klang Valley. Findings from the study shows the main cause of late and non-payment is the paymaster’s poor financial management while the main effect of late and non-payment is problem with the cash flow.  The most recommended possible solution to cope with the issue is for the paymaster to conduct training on financial and cash flow management to the management team in the company.

Brick debris that makes up the majority of construction waste has not received proper waste disposal in Indonesia. On the other hand, brick debris could be potentially reused as non-structural building materials to reduce its negative impact on the environment. This study aims to test the effectiveness of soundproofing on recycled brick debris. The soundproof test was carried out on brick debris in the form of fine and coarse grains. The simulation box is then used as a support for the brickwork material and then the box is exposed to a sound source with a certain level of noise that is considered disturbing human comfort. Noise level measurements are made in the outside and inside the box. These measurements are tabulated and then analyzed to see the success of the two aggregates in reducing noise. Basically, the brickwork material has succeeded in becoming a recycled building material that can absorb noise, although further research must be carried out to be able to state that this material is truly ready to be used as an alternative building material with good acoustic capabilities.

Abstract Background Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a growing global problem to which the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic may further contribute. With resources deployed away from antimicrobial stewardship, evidence of substantial pre-emptive antibiotic use in COVID-19 patients and indirectly, with deteriorating economic conditions fuelling poverty potentially impacting on levels of resistance, AMR threat remains significant. Main body In this paper, main AMR countermeasures are revisited and priorities to tackle the issue are re-iterated. The need for collaboration is stressed, acknowledging the relationship between human health, animal health and environment (“One Health” approach). Among the stated priorities, the initiative by the European Medicines Regulatory Network to further strengthen the measures in combatting AMR is highlighted. Likewise, it is asserted that other emerging health threats require global collaboration with the One Health approach offering a valuable blueprint for action. Conclusion The authors stress the importance of an integrated preparedness strategy to tackle this public health peril.

Currently, energy saving and consumption reduction has been a crucial task the domestic people are facing with. It has been considered as essential question in the field of building materials to research and develop a new energy saving building material. In this paper, we classified new wall material and thermal insulation material, analyzed the performance, feature and application of such materials, selected typical foam concrete and slurry insulation material and analyzed their thermal properties and technology parameters and so on, to present the development trend and direction of energy saving building material, to provide valid scientific data to relevant building energy saving management units, design units and construction units, to play a positive guiding role in improving the application level of new energy saving building material and promoting new energy saving building material of high quality.

The climatic conditions in a man-made urban environment may differ appreciably from those in the surrounding natural or rural environs.... each urban man-made buildings, roads, parking area, factories......creates around and above it a modified climate with which it interacts [1].Outdoor thermal comfort has gained importance in thermal comfort studies especially in tropical countries. In country like India, culturally the activities are spread both indoors and outdoors. Therefore the need for ambient outdoor environment gains importance. As there are many factors that contribute to outdoor thermal comfort (climatic factors and physical factors), this study aims in analyzing the impact of building material contribution, in an institutional courtyard. In order to understand the thermal contribution of various building materials and to suggest material choice to designers, ENVIMET is used for simulation purpose. The outdoor thermal comfort index employed in this study is PET (Physiological Equivalent Temperature), calibrated using RAYMAN.

Building adaptation projects may involve hazardous and toxic substances hidden in the building materials. These substances pose dangers to health and safety, disturbing the environment and affecting the projects’ turnover. Literature reviews on building adaptation and building materials information management found that vital information are seldom available. This study determines the awareness and knowledge of stakeholders in Malaysian building adaptation projects on the required building materials information. Analysis of interviews with 16 experienced stakeholders revealed the lack of awareness and information on existing building materials that may contain hazardous and toxic substances. Thus, building material information is critically required for future sustainability. Keywords: Awareness and knowledge on building material; Building adaptation; Building material information; Hazardous and toxic building materialeISSN 2398-4295 © 2018.
