<em>Teachers are one of the most important components in education system. Apart from teaching learning, teachers are directly involved towards mental, physical, moral, spiritual, and psycho-social development of the students. This study conducted in Jalpaiguri, a Sarva Shiksha Mission (SSM) district of West Bengal to evaluate and assess the level of achievement earned by the Elementary Teachers from the SSM. While the level of attitude of school teachers towards elementary education (Y) had been the dependent/predictor character (Y), the contributory factors had been Age (X<sub>1</sub>), Education of teachers (X<sub>2</sub>), Training Experience (X<sub>3</sub>), Year of Experience (X<sub>4</sub>), Engagement in other activity (X<sub>5</sub>), Family Income (X<sub>6</sub>), Social Participation (X<sub>7</sub>), Interaction with Head Teacher (X<sub>8</sub>), Interaction with School Inspectors (X<sub>9</sub>), Interaction with SSM Personnel (X<sub>10</sub>), Organizational Interfacing (X<sub>11</sub>), Involvement in SSM activities (X<sub>12</sub>), Value Judgement (X<sub>13</sub>), Response about SSM activities (X<sub>14</sub>), Use of TL Materials (X<sub>15</sub>), Exposures to Media (X<sub>16</sub>), and Opinion about present education system (X<sub>17</sub>). The statistical analysis illustrated that while the variables: like (1) Education of teachers (X<sub>2</sub>), Engagement in other activity (X<sub>5</sub>), Family Income (X<sub>6</sub>), Social Participation (X<sub>7</sub>), Interaction with Head Teacher (X<sub>8</sub>), Use of TL Materials (X<sub>15</sub>) had wielded a substantive effect on the determining level of attitude of school teachers towards elementary education (Y) and (2) variables: like Year of Experience (X4),</em><em> Interaction with Head Teacher (X<sub>8</sub>) have been found to exercise significant regressional effect on the level of attitude of school teachers towards elementary education (Y).</em>

Teachers are most significant factor in education system. Teachers are playing very important role for the success of education system. That system of education may be for primary level or for secondary level, or it may be for level of higher education. Teachers are dynamic and conscious factor of education, they are very cognizant about every phenomena of education due to their professional competence. They are well acquainted with national literacy mission, post literacy mission, district primary education programmer and Sarva Shiksha Mission. Recently launched new programmer of secondary education as Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan, this study had concentrated to identify the differences of the level of perception about Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) among the school teachers, in term of 17 variables viz. Age of respondent (X1), Educational qualification of respondent (X2), Number of family members (X3), Number of children going to school (X4), Number of Children studying in class IX and X (X5), Need of private tuition (X6), Reasons behind the private tuition (X7),  Additional boost up given by RMSA (X8), Shortfall of present secondary education system (X9), Remediable steps of secondary education (X10), Awareness of social facts (X11) Involvement in social activities (X12), Influence of SSA (X13), Achievement of SSA (X14), Functions of Mid-day Meal(X15), Initiation of Mid-day Meal for Secondary level (X16), and Better options of  implementation of Mid-day Meal(X17) were found to bear mentionable impact on the high and low level of perception (Y) of the school teachers of West Bengal.

The present study seeks to examine the Perception of school teachers towards Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation at school level. The study was conducted on the teachers of school level. From the analysis of the result, it was found that majority of school teachers aware of CCE. Almost all the school teachers thought that CCE is appropriate for teaching-learning process and CCE is very effective for slow children. CCE is helpful for improving our education system and all round development of students’ is possible with CCE.

In early 2020, the Covid-19 virus hit many places, including New York City, with such a force that nobody could have foreseen the events following its spread. The education system was pushed to transition itself to meet with 21st century technology. This study explores this disruption in the education system and how middle school teachers in several New York counties responded. What are middle school teachers’ perspectives and practices during the rapid switch to remote teaching? Professor and graduate students in a Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment class on middle level schooling designed the interview protocol focused on five related areas of the remote learning endeavor: 1) Preparation, 2) Teaching, Learning, and Participation, 3) Social and Emotional effects on Students, 4) Monitoring and Assessment, 5) Looking forward. The findings demonstrate a primarily reactive response and limited preparation. Teachers express a mixed review of successes and struggles with online teaching and the challenges of engagement, participation, and meeting the social emotional needs of restless students who sometimes do not have the parent support or the technological devices that could further assist their success with online learning. Each teacher had their own unique experiences and challenges teaching students through a computer screen.

Abstract India is facing a big challenge to continue uninterrupted higher education process after COVID-19 situation. Students come from heterogeneous socio-economic strata. Many are susceptible to the contagious disease because of their mal-nutritious condition, co-morbid situation like juvenile diabetes etc. We have elderly (60–65 years age) teachers also who are in vulnerable situation. So, we need specific and extremely cautious future planning to protect the lives of our future generations from this pandemic morbidity along with their progress in education so that they can keep pace with the tide of education process as in some other countries of the world. This study aims to explore the lived experience of the teachers of the higher education institutes of the state of West-Bengal, India to gain a deeper understanding of their individual experiences and future planning regarding higher education system in mind. Phenomenological approach of Moustake with pragmatic world view along with interpretive lens is used here. Through Purposive sampling method 12 study participants are identified. Participants are theteachers of different urban, suburban and rural colleges in West Bengal who had experienced a sudden turmoil in teaching-learning interaction due to prolonged emergency lockdown from March’2020 to combat COVID-19.In-depth interviews with consented call-recorded over telephone were conducted to collect primary dataduring April 2020. Participant observation also used for data collection. Fear of infection, even death and uncertainty haunted both teachers and students lead to the half-hearted motivation to study. Majority of the faculties felt awkward to teach through online method as they are new to it. During teaching there were many problems faced like insufficient data consumption power by many students, lack of required smart phone, frequent network failure. Majority of students are generally spoon fed by their private tutors. Participants supported the physical classes could not give the feasible suggestion to maintain social distance and personal protection in campus and public transport system. Some told about the herd immunity also. Some firmly supported online mode of teaching as the only safe way to teach now. Teaching-learning from home is cost efficient (direct and indirect cost), time efficient, space efficient, surveillance efficient. It has time flexibility. It also has productivity efficiency as less physical movement perhaps increases intellectual productivity. More quality time spending with the family increases happiness index. Even after the pandemic situation this online mode of education will be best suited for the holistic development of society. Single online platform should be used countrywide and teachers and students should adopt slowly to the new system for the sake of safety of majority of people. Government should subsidize data for academic websites, provide cheap smart phones to the students, focus on infrastructure of internet network. Students can be motivated through one to one telephonic conversation also. Only laboratory-based classes can be taken physically fragmenting the entire class into suitable sections. If the online teaching, learning, examination infrastructure cannot be developed in time extension of semester duration can be considered. But no physical classes should be allowed till we feel fully protected from the virus.

The system of relationships and emotions that develop in the teaching-learning process define the complexity of teachers' education and pose the challenge of bringing out the emotional and affective culture that guides school life. Several studies on teaching practices highlight the tendency to refer to technical aspectsas a key dimension of professionalism, rather than on relational and emotional dimensions that can promote the relationship with student. The creative and unprecedented reconfiguration of professional practice is configured as the outcome of a reflexive process of subjective construction and de-construction of the profession and its development.The paper proposes a reflective training experience, which involved 76 teachers, focused on emotional and relational dimensions on teaching and based on the use of the narrative-autobiographical instruments (diary, narrative, metaphor). The results achieved in the monitoring phase show that the training offered an opportunity to reflect on oneself and one's personal and professional experience, starting from the use of alternative perspectives and interpretations than those that are already in use

Education today needs to be responsive to the diverse needs of our learners in order to make them globally competent. Innovative initiatives need to be brought into the present education system in order to meet the growing demands of our society. Our education system does not function in isolation with our society and so, along with academic aspects, the social aspects of learning too, have to be focussed on. This is possible with quality teaching strategies being introduced in our teaching learning process and one such strategy promoting the same is Cooperative Learning. Cooperative learning involves students working together in small groups to accomplish shared goals. It is widely recognized as a teaching strategy that promotes socialization and learning among students from kindergarten through college and across different subjects and science is no exception. Science enables pupils to be involved in group work where they have the opportunity to share ideas and cooperate with each other in collaborative practical activity. What is needed today is a new wave of educated students ready for modern scientific research, teaching and technological development. With students of diverse abilities and differing rates of learning in our classrooms, it is, therefore, essential for the teacher to have the knowledge of how students learn science and how best to teach. The present study was taken up in this context to find out the effectiveness of cooperative learning strategy in science teaching.

Corporal Punishment yields negative impact on the behaviors of students and thus their learning achievements remain lower. Sometime, in a particular situation, students’ exhibit relatively better results but they actually get fed up with the learning enrolment and intrinsically intend to go away from teaching learning process. This study was under taken to get the opinion of primary school teachers and their practical behaviors towards corporal punishment at primary level in the Govt. Schools of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. In order to collect data, a questionnaire containing 35 questions was developed in Urdu for seeking opinion of primary school teachers. The questionnaire had two parts; the first part pertained to information about different aspects related to the classroom situation while the second part contained an open-ended question asking for suggestions.  Stratified random sample technique was used but only those school were selected which were willing to respond and easy to approach.  Data collected through questionnaire were tabulated and analyzed.  Although difference of opinion was found among the teachers on all issues yet an overall majority opined that corporal punishment must not be there as it was the greatest negative variable for creating a conducive environment for teaching learning process.
