Electricity is the main source of energy that humans need for everyday life, without electricity a human can not turn on the television, the fridge, and which is sure to be dark because it can not turn on the lights at night. Therefore electricity is very important and can be a major requirement in this life, recently there are frequent blackouts in turn by PLN. The problem is that during the night there is a blackout the house will be dark because the lights will also die, and that's when it takes a tool to turn on the house lights to be able to illuminate the house when there is a power outage. The tool is an inverter run by batteries with 12 volt DC voltage that replaces 220 volt voltage from PLN and also can control via SMS if at any time of power outage. The inverter circuit will be active when there is a power outage and the arduino as a microcontroller triggers the SIM 900 sms module to send a message to the homeowner to confirm the inverter is activated or not, if the inverter is active then the lamp will turn on and if the inverter is off then the lamp will stay off. So that will be generated appliance control of house electricity blackout by sms with emergency lamp run by DC to AC inverter.

A power inverter circuits is normally designed to meet its design specifications when the applied input DC voltage is within specified tolerance limits. Thus, single input inverters are usually specified to work from a DC source having a fixed nominal voltage. This limits the usefulness of the inverter circuit when a DC source having the specified nominal voltage is not available. In this work, a modified square wave inverter system that is specified to work properly from batteries with nominal voltages of 6, 12, 18 and 24 V was designed. A model of the microcontroller-based circuit was developed with Proteus® software and its firmware was written in C language using the MicroC® development tool. A prototype of the circuit was constructed and then tested. The constructed circuit was found to work properly by producing a 50 Hz modified square waveform when it was powered from batteries having nominal voltages of 6 V, 12 V, 18 V and 24 V.

In today's modern era, electronic devices have become a necessity that is often used in everyday life. With the development of increasingly advanced science and technology, many things can be used to meet the needs in terms of controlling electronic devices, one of which is controlling electronic devices using voice commands, where this system can be used for people with hand disabilities. In this research, a system will be made using Voice Recognition Module V3 as voice recognition to turn on and turn off electronic devices. The Voice Recognition Module will receive input in the form of voice commands via the microphone as a transducer and is connected to Arduino uno as the main microcontroller which will access the Control Panel which consists of Relay and Contactor components as controlled objects connected to Electronic Devices (Lamps, TV and AC). In the results of the system research, the percentage of successful speech recognition according to the voice sample is 96.6% from 10 times the pronunciation of the command given to each command. While the percentage of success when giving orders only with fragments of words is 21.25%. At the success rate of giving voice commands to different people, the percentage of success is 81%. The success rate for giving commands will be more responsive when in a room without noise or conducive, but the success rate for giving commands will decrease when pronunciation is at a distance of 1M.

When The Royal Society was founded in 1660, life for the average person in the UK was unimaginably different from today. For one thing, largely owing to lack of understanding of infectious diseases, life expectancy at birth was roughly half today's. The intervening centuries have seen huge changes, both in scientific understanding and in its effects on everyday life. People have, of course, been trying for thousands of years to make sense of how the natural world works. But with the advent of the fact-based experimental approach – affirmed in The Royal Society's motto Nullius in verba – the lights started to turn on, and science began its continuing journey out from the mists of superstition, dogma, and the apodictic utterances of authority.

Multi-level inverters are playing a major role in PV based systems because of numerous advantages like low dv/dt, better harmonic profile so on. But, conventional multi-level inverters consist of some drawbacks like capacitor balancing issues, greater requirement of capacitor banks and clamping diodes. To address these issues, a novel multi-level inverter has been presented in this paper, which can function as a seven-level, five-level and three-level inverter. The inverter circuit utilizes six switching devices and two isolated DC voltage sources. Moreover, when it is operated as a three-level inverter, a unipolar PWM technique is applied to the circuit which shifts all the lower order harmonics to twice of switching frequency whereas in conventional multi-level inverters, all the harmonics of lower order are present around switching frequency. In addition, proposed inverter can operate even if some switching devices of the circuit fails. Also, the behavior of the inverter during the failure of some switching devices and DC source is analyzed. The proposed inverter is simulated in MATLAB/Simulink and the results are also discussed.

Propaganda and its elements are an inseparable part of everyday life. In a digital age, when, in every second, a vast amount of information is exchanged, the possibilities and variations of propaganda techniques application are proportionally high. The majority of these propaganda messages that can be seen every time we turn on a device, or just go outside and look around are the messages of economic propaganda. Every time we hear a speech of a corporate or government official, we hear a carefully created and delivered message put together by public relations experts, which as well, by its genesis, belongs to propaganda. Still, the subject of this paper is propaganda, which is much more malicious in its origins and manifestations, and that is propaganda for ultranationalist purposes. In this paper, the authors first consider the etiological and historical aspects of propaganda focusing on those forms that had the most devastating effects. Propaganda predates mass media, but it is their conjunction that helped propaganda to reach a maximum capacity of its impact. Therefore, the authors analyze the correlation between propagandists, propaganda, and mass media.

A simplified circuit topology of the five-level pulse width modulation (PWM) inverter for DC-AC power conversion with no-isolated DC voltage sources and reduced switching device number is presented in this paper. The inverter circuit is based on the three-level H-bridge inverter configuration. The developed five-level inverter needs only five controlled power switches and four isolated gate drive circuits. Furthermore, the proposed topology does not require bidirectional power semiconductor controlled switches, hence a conventional discrete power MOSFETs or IGBTs can be used to build the inverter circuits. To obtain a better quality output voltage waveform, the level-phase-shifted carriers based sinusoidal pulse width modulation control was applied to produce a five-level PWM voltage waveform. The proposed inverter circuit was examined by using computer simulation with Power PSIM software. The basic principle operation of the inverter circuit was verified experimentally in laboratory using two non-isolated DC voltage sources as the inputs of the inverter’s prototype circuit. Some analysis of inverter’s output waveforms are provided and discussed.

In this paper, I will illustrate the changing nature and complexity of faculty employment in college and university settings. I will use existing higher education research to describe changes in faculty demographics, the escalating demands placed on faculty in the work setting, and challenges that confront professors seeking tenure or administrative advancement. Boyer’s (1990) framework for bringing traditionally marginalized and neglected functions of teaching, service, and community engagement into scholarship is examined as a model for balancing not only teaching, research, and service, but also work with everyday life.
