This study analyzes the effects of structural economic movement on the change of indonesia’s exports and examines the validity of the ignacy theory concerning structural economic movement in relation to the changes of of export composition. The study utilize an ordinary mechanism of WLS, namely the Wald model. The estimation resulted through the combination of ECM and WLS shows that the price of export goods/merchandises has a positive effect and is significant in the short-term. Yet, over the long-term period, the increase in export commodity price causes the decrease in export volumes. Meanwhile, the relationship between export volume and inflation is not significant, either in the short-term or long-term.  Foreign exchange interestingly has a positive and significant relationship with the export volume over a short-term period, but in the long-term it has a reverse effect, that is, it decreases export volume. Foreign investment has a positive and significant relationship with export volume in the long-term, the significance, however, weakens over the short-term period. The structural economic movement has a positive and significant relationship over a short-term period with export volume, but over long-term period the relationship is not statistically strong. Thus, the structural economic movement towards more on the growth of industry sector could stimulate the growth in export aggregately. This evidence provides further support on the Ignacy theory (1980) if it is applied on Indonesian international economy, especially for the period of 1983-1997.JEL Classification: C32, F14, O24Keyword: Weighted Least Square, Error Correction Model, Structural Economic Movement, Export Change

Indonesia has a significant and growing shortfall of housing. Existing supply is in poor condition and demand is rising for new units. Meanwhile, people's purchasing power to buy a house is still relatively low. Government overcomes added stock housing availability by collaborating with private developers to help meet the demand for housing needs. Islamic banks can provide funds to buy houses for the community. This study analyzes the effect of third-party fund (TPF), margin of homeownership financing (PPR), inflation, and household income on Islamic financing for homeownership. The analytical model used in this research is the ordinary least square with the Error Correction Model (ECM) method. The Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method in this study is used to see the relationship between the short-term and long-term effects of the independent variables on the dependent variable. The analytical tool used in this research is Econometric Views (EViews 10 Standard Edition for Windows). The study results show that in the short term, the TPF, PPR margin, inflation, and household income variables have a significant positive effect on homeownership financing in Islamic banks in Indonesia. The long term TPF, inflation, and household income variables have a significant positive effect on homeownership financing in Islamic banks in Indonesia, but the variable of PPR margin has a significant negative impact on sharia financing for homeownership.

This study aims to empirically examine and analyze the impact of capital structure decision on the firm’s profitability by using a sample of 35 Indian pharmaceutical companies listed on Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) during the period of 5 years from 2012 to 2016. Regression Analysis is used to measure the extent and nature of the relationship. Capital structure variables used in the study are ratio of long-term debt to total assets (LDA), ratio of short-term debt to total assets (SDA) and ratio of Total debt to total assets (DA) while profitability has been measure by Return on Equity (ROE). Firms Size (SIZE)and Salesgrowth(GROW) are also used as control variables. Results reveal a positive effect of SDA and DA on ROE, while a weak-to-no effect was found of LDA on ROE.

This study examined the effect of capital structure on profitability of listed insurance firms in Nigeria for the period 2013-2017 The study used correlation research design. The source of data which were collected from the published annual financial reports of studies listed insurance firms in Nigeria. The population of the study comprised of the 28 listed insurance firms. The sample size was fifteen (15) listed insurance firms in Nigeria. The data collected were analyzed with the aid of OLS multiple regression technique. Using 75 firm-year paneled observations, the result of the ordinary least square regression showed that short-term debt has a negative and significant effect on the profitability of listed insurance firms in Nigeria. In addition, long-term debt has a positive and significant effect on profitability. Finally, premium growth has positively significant effect on profitability of listed insurance firms.  Based on the findings, the study recommends that the management of listed insurance firms should strive towards having optimum capital structure by increasing their equity level and reducing dependence on debts so as to avoid being cash strapped and debt ridden. The association of body height with occupational success has been frequently studied, with previous research mainly finding a positive effect among men and positive or null effects among women. Occupational success has almost exclusively been measured so far by short-term success variables (e.g., annual income). In the present study, the relationship of success and height was examined in a group of actors and actresses using a large online database about movies (Internet Movie Database) where heights of actors and actresses are stated. The number of roles played in movies and television series during each actor's lifetime was used as a measure of long-term occupational success. No height effect was found for male actors but a significant negative effect was found for actresses, even after controlling for possible confounding influences (age and birth year). Compared to the general population, actors and actresses were significantly taller; however, actresses who were shorter than average were more likely to achieve greater occupational success, in terms of being featured in more movies.

The research aims to identify the impact of tax revenues on the growth of the gross domestic product (GDP) in Jordan during the period 2000-2018. The research reaches a set of results, which is that the greater the value of tax revenues by one unit, the greater the value of the GDP in Jordan by 7.257 units during the same period. There is also a positive effect of tax revenues on the growth and increase of the GDP in Jordan, however, there is no common integration between tax revenues and the GDP in Jordan. Moreover, there is a correction from the short term to the long term and there is an effect of the long-term correction of the relationship between tax revenues and the GDP during the study period. The study recommends the need to work to facilitate the procedures for individuals to pay taxes through modern technological means, work to develop and simplify tax services and raise the level of transparency in tax dealings with all individuals, the need to make amendments to the tax law in order to match the living conditions of individuals and achieve the highest efficiency in collecting due taxes, increasing tax exemptions that are offered to foreign investment to encourage them for investments in all economic, commercial, service and industrial fields in Jordan, working to diversify sources of income for the Jordanian economy and not to rely entirely on tax revenues as a primary source of income.

Multicellular eukaryotes have evolved complex homeostatic mechanisms that buffer the majority of their cells from direct interaction with the external environment. Thus, in these organisms long-term adaptations are generally achieved by modulating the developmental profile and tissue specificity of gene expression. Nevertheless, a subset of eukaryotic genes are still involved in direct responses to environmental fluctuations. It is the adaptative responses in the expression of these genes that buffers many other genes from direct environmental effects. Both microevolutionary and macroevolutionary patterns of change in the structure and regulation of such genes are illustrated by the sequences encoding α-amylases. The molecular biology and evolution of α-amylases in Drosophila and other higher eukaryotes are presented. The amylase system illustrates the effects of both long-term and short-term natural selection, acting on both the structural and regulatory components of a gene–enzyme system. This system offers an opportunity for linking evolutionary genetics to molecular biology, and it allows us to explore the relationship between short-term microevolutionary changes and long-term adaptations.Key words: gene regulation, molecular evolution, eukaryotes, Drosophila, amylase.

Though a lot of studies have been done to conclude customer loyalty as dependent variable but still there is a vast margin of researches to be conducted in future in different spheres of this construct. On the other hand the truth of the importance of customer loyalty as an enduring asset cannot be falsified. It is fundamental for organizations to build up long term and mutual beneficial associations with the customers. The purpose of this research paper is to show the inter relationship of reputation, customer satisfaction and trust on customer loyalty. According to the observations reputation is the major independent variable that has significant relationship with customer satisfaction, customer loyalty, and trust. Data for this research study was taken from the Islamia University, Quaid-e-Azam Medical College, and different banks located at various geographic locations of Bahawalpur region of Pakistan. Data was collected through self administered questionnaire and analyzed by using regression through SPSS. The results have been drawn from 150 users of NISHAT LINEN and it was found that there is positive and significant relationship among reputation, customer satisfaction, trust and customer loyalty. Hence the studies give the positive sign that with the increment of reputation, customer satisfaction and trust the customer loyalty enhances.
