Abstract This paper presents the determination of the transfer function of the spreading pandemic caused by SARS-CoV-2 in different countries. The methodology of system identification, well known in control system theory, based on the number of infected was used. Appropriate hypotheses have been adopted to determine the transfer function of the system. Each country is viewed as a separate system, and comparisons of determined systems are given. The systems are also presented in the state space, the stability of the systems is analysed, and the matrices of controllability and observability are determined. After analysis, it is shown that the spread of the SARS-CoV-2, for each country, can be described with the same order of transfer function and differential equation.

The analysis of the uniqueness of Filippov’s solutions to non-smooth control systems is important before the solutions can be sought. Such an analysis is extremely challenging when the discontinuity surface is the intersecting discontinuity surfaces. The key step is to study the intersections of the convex sets from Filippov’s inclusions and the sets containing vectors tangent to the discontinuity surfaces. Due to the fact that all the elements of these sets are functions of the states and time and their numerical values can not be obtained before the uniqueness of the solution is analyzed, the determination of such intersections, symbolically, is extremely difficult. In this paper, we propose to firstly transform the control system to a new state space where the discontinuity surfaces can be written in special forms. Secondly, we expand the sets associated with Filippov’s inclusion such that the determinations of the intersections become feasible. Two examples of practical non-smooth control systems are presented to demonstrate the efficacy of the method.

In the paper a construction of a control system for 2nd order, uncertain-parameter plant is discussed. The considered model of the plant is described by state space equation or by equivalent transfer function and it describes a huge class of real control plants, for example – electric drives or oriented PV systems. As a controller the digital proportional (P) controller was employed. The control system is going to be implemented at the microcontroller platform. Results are by the example depicted.

In this paper, stability of the Luo converter and the effect of circuit elements on the stability and damping fluctuation frequency is investigated. Along with this, the mathematical modeling of positive output (P/O) Luo converter in continuous conduction mode (CCM) is done by using an average state-space method. By using the obtained mathematical model, the transfer function of the Luo converter is extracted, and by using the location of the roots the mentioned transfer function, stability, and effect of circuit elements on converter behavior are studied. Also, its situations are compared with other converters. The analyses are performed through MATLAB based on simulations, which includes both roots location and bodes diagram.

An active electromagnetic stabilization of the Leipholz column We study the application of electromagnetic actuators for the active stabilization of the Leipholz column. The cases of the compressive and tensional load of the column placed in air and in water are considered. The partial differential equation of the column is discretized by Galerkin's procedure, and the stability of the obtained control system is evaluated by the eigenvalues of its linearization. Four different methods of active stabilization are investigated. They incorporate control systems based on feedback proportional to the transverse displacement of the column, its velocity and the current in the electromagnets. Conditions in which these strategies are effective in securing safe operation of the column are discussed in detail.

A low order acoustic network model is used to examine the stability of an annular combustor for different operating points. The results obtained by this approach are compared against experimental data from a full annular combustor. This annular combustor, in contrast to commonly used single burners or sector rigs, was used to include also 2-dimensional effects like the influence of circumferential modes, which can occur in practical gas turbine applications. The influence of the flame enters the network model simulation through an experimentally measured flame transfer function in terms of the response of heat release to acoustic velocity fluctuations. This flame transfer function, which has been measured at a stable operating point, is then used as a basis for the determination of flame transfer functions at other operating points by means of scaling methods. The transition to instability is thereby simulated by determination of the complex eigen modes, applying methods from control theory. The analytically determined stability behavior is compared to the experimentally measured one, with the aim to enhance and validate the network model approach as a means of predicting combustion instabilities in early design stages.

The mathematical model of a modular control system of links of the snake like robot for realization of the wave movement considering the moments of the external forces created by adjacent links and external indignations is given in work. As model of the electric drive of a direct current the differential equation of the second order connecting tension of u(t) given on the electric motor, the moment of loading of Mn (t) and an output angle of rotation of a shaft θ(t) is used. Transfer functions of separate links are calculated, and transfer function of a control system in general is received.

AbstractThe article includes analysis of expert system application possibilities in the environment of production processes control. Such concepts as artificial intelligence, expert system, intellectual factor, state space were used. The object of the research consisted of the mechanism of controlling an enterprise (manager). These mechanisms were analysed from the point of view of state space. The graph method was used to visualize information presentation. Analysis of control processes of an enterprise was carried out by determination of their state space. The concept of state space itself is completed with numerous measurement values (parameters) under influence of which the process of task solution takes place. Moreover, the concept of static and dynamic elements of state space of the control system is applied. It was shown that dynamic elements enable the quality presentation of space, which without including other restrictions leads to extension of its impact, which confirms that a given system has an intelligent factor.

The transfer function of the BUCK converter is proposed by using the state-space average method. The lead-lag network is used to optimize the stability of the closed-loop BUCK system. And the stability of the system has been greatly improved. At last the simulation model of the system is founded by using the Matlab software. Compared with the results of the simulation of open-loop and closed-loop system, the conclusion can be reached that the stability of the after- compensator system is greatly improved.
