Recently, universities all over the world challenge the problem of reducing energy consumption through the introduction of energy efficient technologies. Higher educational institutions, especially in emerging and developing economies, often face significant barriers to achieving this goal. In developing countries, these obstacles are partly due to technical constraints. However, most of them belong to the organizational, economic, financial, social and educational ones, as is the case in emerging economies. This situation brings up to date the issues of identifying barriers to energy saving on university campuses as well as forming a set of organizational, economic and motivational measures for the energy saving potential implementation in higher educational institutions. On the example of Sumy State University (Ukraine), the study proves a crucial role of the initiative team of energy managers, the necessity of recognition and constant support of the university’s energy efficient development by the topmanagement and wide involvement of teachers and students in energy saving activities. Creating a revolving energy efficiency fund at the university may significantly help to overcome the luck of investment and long-term payback of energy efficient and green energy technologies. In addition, both the promotion of the university’s energy saving achievements by establishing effective communication with all stakeholders and the formation of a system of moral and economic incentives for energy saving essentially contribute to the successful development of energy efficiency policy of the educational institution. The experience of Sumy State University as a case study proves that a systematic approach to the organization of energy saving activities in the university campus based on the continuous improvement of management mechanisms allows achieving the goals of energy efficiency, even with many barriers.

<p>The article is devoted to the problem of adaptation of first-year students to the conditions for mastering educational programs at the university. It is based on the results of monitoring of students of Russian higher educational institutions within the framework of the research "Change in Composition and Life Priorities of Students of Higher Educational Institutions and Their Social Stability ", executed by the Penza State University of Architecture and Construction. More than 400 students from 13 state universities in 5 federal districts of Russia took part in the monitoring.</p><p>The article features the results of monitoring of Russian students concerning their readiness for higher educational institutions. The results of the monitoring showed that the problem of adaptation of first-year students is a major issue, which still remains a subject for discussions while being the foundation of education in junior courses. The paper defines the concept of adaptation, presents the types and functions of the student's social adaptation and summarizes the conclusions of the study. Some proposals to improve the adaptation of first-year students have been developed and implemented.</p>

The article deals with the development of science in higher educational institutions of Bashkiria in the 1960- 1980s, also the problem of the growth of the number of scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel. The paper shows the dynamics of creating of research sections (departments), research industrial branch and problem laboratories, research production units in the universities of the republic. Thus, the first research laboratory in the higher educational institutions of the republic appeared in 1960, and the first research sections (departments) in 1963. The paper shows that in institutional terms, research activities were particularly intensively developed in the Ufa Oil and Aviation Institutes, the Bashkir State University. For some time, from 1963 to 1967, the former research institutes of the Bashkir branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences were part of the BSU; namely the Institute of Organic Chemistry and the Institute of Biology. However, the most rapid emergence of research laboratories in most universities of the republic dates back only to the 1980s, when they were established in the Bashkir State University, Medical and Agricultural Institutes. The article describes peculiarities of the formation of scientific trends and schools in various higher education institutions of the region. Thus, in the Bashkir Agricultural Institute, scientific research was closely related to agricultural production, in the Medical Institute - with medical and preventive practice in the republic. The Ufa Aviation and Petroleum Institutes, partly the University, served the production interests of large industrial enterprises. The article reveals that during the period under review, there occurred a certain integration of college science with academic and branch science, production, also increase the volume of contractual self accounting work took place The problem publication the results of scientific research remained acute during the study period. The issue of the implementing of the results of scientific activity in to production is touched upon. A number of difficulties in the development of science in higher educational institutions of the republic are identified in the article: the weakness of the experimental and production base, its inefficient use, the increase in the time of implementation of developments in to production, the low level of cooperation and coordination of scientific activities.

Purpose of the Study: The present research was undertaken to determine the impact of workforce diversity taxonomy like diversity climate, value, organizational justice, and identity on various dimensions of organizational culture. Methodology: A sample of 117 university teachers selected from the university and higher educational institutions in Pakistan. Convenient sampling techniques were used to collect the data through a Google survey, using workforce diversity. taxonomy inventory and organizational culture questionnaire. Data analyzed by using a t-test to compare the mean scores of various dichotomized groups to see the effect of workforce diversity taxonomy on organizational culture with the help of the SPSS package. Principal Findings: Results revealed that workforce diversity taxonomy like diversity climate, value, organizational justice, and identity significantly influenced organizational culture and its various dimensions. Perceived high and low respondents’ workforce diversity taxonomy differed significantly on organizational culture. Applications of the study: This study can formulate strategies to improve workforce diversity in universities and higher educational institutions in emerging economies like Pakistan. Novelty/Originality of this study: The present research contributes to the literature on perceived workforce diversity taxonomy and organizational culture in terms of autonomy, trust, communication, transparency, interpersonal relation, decision making, and overall organizational culture, particularly in university and higher educational institution’s teachers.

The article is devoted to the basic development tendencies in the sphere of higher education; it is specifying the notion of “entrepreneurial university” trends and forms of entrepreneurial culture at higher educational institutions as well. The other items under consideration here refer to specifics and competitiveness of higher educational institutions as business entities, quality and efficiency of their business activity, and to the scope and framework of entrepreneurial university. The appropriate conclusion suggests the importance of business activity development by Kazakhstani higher educational institutions. The authors conceptualized a model of forming of entrepreneurial culture at the university and present the observation data gained from the students’ opinion survey concerning business environment at the leading regional university. These research analysis data allow understanding of the levels and development indexes of entrepreneurial culture in the university environment, and indicating the following: values orientation, pro-business thinking, entrepreneurial vigour and maturity, entrepreneurial proactive attitude.

This chapter aimed at establishing how corruption is hidden and perpetuated through use of some records in a public university, yet records should provide evidence to prove malpractices. Using a questionnaire data were collected from a purposively selected sample of participants employed in a university's four administrative sections. The findings revealed that corrupt malpractices such as employment or promotion of unqualified personnel, unfair tender awarding, forging of records and documents were concealed in the records yet things appear to have been done above board. The study recommends an anti-corruption strategy to campaign against all forms of corruption in the university.
