Impact of Internal CSR Perception on Affective Organisational Commitment among Bank Employees

The present study aims to investigate the relationship between perceived internal corporate social responsibility (CSR) practices and affective organisational commitment. Based on a primary data sample of 300 bank employees, a structural equation model (SEM) was developed to test the research hypotheses. The results indicated that the research model fitted well with the empirical data. The findings show that employee perception of internal CSR dimensions was significantly related to affective organisational commitment. Therelationship between affective commitment and internal CSR was also investigated within a model that moderates effects on employee gender. This study provides an understanding that motivations could encourage employee’s affective commitment, which might translate to effective human resource management policies.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to examine the relationship between participatory HRM and firm performance through a series of mediators. Design/methodology/approach Primary data were collected from 569 respondents belonging to 207 organizations operating in India. Structural equation modeling and bootstrapping via PROCESS were used to analyze the hypothesized relationships between participatory HRM and firm performance. Findings The study has highlighted that participatory HRM in the form of self-managed teams, flexible work arrangements and empowerment results in better organizational climate, heightened affective commitment, reduced intention to leave and enhanced firm performance. Furthermore, it has been established that organizational climate, affective commitment and intention to leave serially mediate the relationship between participatory HRM and firm performance. Practical implications The study gives strong indications that adopting bundle of participatory HRM practices is beneficial for generating positive organizational climate, enhanced employee attitudes and superior firm performance. Originality/value By establishing serial mediation through organizational climate, affective commitment and employees’ intention to leave, this study brings new insights into the interpretation of underlying mechanism existing between participatory HRM and firm performance, thus uniquely contributes to the HRM and OB literature.

PurposeThis study aims to test and analyze the effect of maintenance operation, time utility and occupancy on sustainability with transit oriented development (TOD) as a moderating variable.Design/methodology/approachThis research is a quantitative research. The data in this study are a combination of primary data obtained through a questionnaire. The research took place at PT MRT Jakarta with all the board of directors as a sample in this study. The sampling technique used is saturated sampling and data analysis using structural equation model (SEM).FindingsThe result shows that maintenance and operation (M&O) have a positive and significant effect on time utility, M&O have a positive and significant effect on sustainability, time utility has a positive and significant effect on occupancy, occupancy has a positive and significant effect on sustainability and the influence of TOD does not significantly influence the relationship between time utility on occupancy and occupancy on sustainability.Originality/valueThe originality of this research lies in testing the maintenance operation, time utility and occupancy variables on sustainability with the renewal of TOD as a moderating variable.

This study aims to determine the effect of job satisfaction and compensation on organizational commitment and job satisfaction, compensation and organizational commitment to organizational citizenship behavior and organizational commitment to mediate the relationship between job satisfaction and compensation on organizational citizenship behavior. The data used in this study are primary data of 135 respondents at the District office in the West Region of North Aceh Regency. The data analysis method in this study uses a structural equation model with the help of analysis of moment structure. The results of the study found that job satisfaction has a positive and significant effect on organizational commitment. Meanwhile, compensation has no effect on organizational commitment. Another finding is that organizational commitment and job satisfaction have a positive and significant effect on organizational citizenship behavior. Furthermore, compensation has a negative and significant effect on organizational citizenship behavior. Organizational commitment fully mediates the effect of job satisfaction on organizational citizenship behavior, but organizational commitment does not mediate the relationship between compensation and organizational citizenship behavior.

This chapter investigates the relationship between service quality of Baitul Maal wat-Tamwil (BMT) and the satisfaction of small and micro-enterprises in Indonesia with perceived benefits as the mediating variable. Primary data is collected from 454 small and micro-enterprises located in the western part of Jawa Island of Indonesia and the CARTER model is adopted to test the satisfaction of small and micro-enterprises upon the services provided by their patronized BMT as Islamic microfinance institutions. By using the structural equation model, the finding confirms that perceived benefits fully mediate the relationship between service quality of BMT and small and micro-enterprises' satisfaction.

Abstract Corporate social responsibility (CSR) plays an important role in promoting workplace ethics. However, most research has focused on CSRs’ performance or favourable performance-related behaviour outcomes. Little is known about how individual employees perceive CSR and how this affects their ethical behaviour. This research examines how employees' perceived corporate social responsibility (PCSR) facilitates their ethical behaviour. Specifically, we hypothesise that PCSR influences employee ethical behaviour by enhancing employees' organisational commitment. The relationship between employees' commitment and ethical behaviour is contingent on their co-workers' ethical behaviour. The hypothesised relationships were assessed using partial least squares structural equation modelling with a sample of 300 employees from ‘The Ghana Club 100’ firms. Our findings suggest that employee commitment serves as an effective mechanism through which employees' perception enhances their ethical behaviour. The findings also show that the weaker the co-workers' ethical behaviour, the stronger the relationship between employee commitment and ethical behaviour. Both theoretical and practical implications are discussed.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to determine how consumers benefit from corporate social responsibility (CSR) and whether spiritual benefits are a stronger outcome of CSR. Design/methodology/approach Items for values are developed and tested prior to their inclusion in an experiment that manipulates the presence and absence of CSR. A structural equation model is used to test the mediation effect of perceived value on the relationship between CSR and consumer outcomes. A chi-square test is used to compare the magnitude of the significant effects. Findings CSR influences spiritual, status, efficiency and aesthetic benefits equally. Spiritual benefits is a stronger predictor of attitude and personal satisfaction than efficiency and status benefits. Originality/value Conceptual and qualitative findings in the literature demonstrate that CSR is associated with spiritual benefits. This study quantitatively tests not only how CSR influences various benefits but also how those effects compare to the relationship between CSR and spiritual benefits. The examination of the effect of CSR benefits on consumer outcomes reveals that the types of benefits do not have identical effects.

The purpose of this study was to discover the crucial issues between TQM and the performance of Malaysian SMEs. This paper also reviewed the need of the other variable in the relationship between TQM and Malaysian SME’s performance; namely innovation. This paper then presents the empirical results carried out on the Malaysian SMEs covering the manufacturing industry. The measurement scale in this study was tested and found to be reliable and valid to examine the research model. The 124 samples obtained were assessed using Smart PLS in order to examine the structural equation model. Empirical findings in this study prove that TQM had an insignificant impact on innovation and performance. Moreover, innovation mediates the relationship between TQM and performance of SMEs in Malaysia. This study provides new evidence in the important area of TQM and innovation of Malaysian SMEs. This study aimed to know the direct effect of service quality, on the satisfaction and trust of Muslim patients in Arafah Islamic hospital in Jambi city. The design of this study used a quantitative method with a survey approach to obtain primary data, namely by distributing questionnaires to 140 inpatients in Arafah Islamic hospital in Jambi city using the purposive sampling method. Then quantitative data was processed using Structural Equation Model (SEM) with the application of SmartPLS 3. The results of this study indicated that service quality has a significant effect on satisfaction and trust, as well as satisfaction has a significant effect on trust. This research was expected to make a practical contribution to management of Islamic hospital for an effort to increase patient satisfaction and trust.
