The problem of online aggression has attracted increasing attention over the past decade. Various studies revealed a need for tools that would identify the causes of aggressive behavior in cyberspace. The article presents the results of the adaptation of the English-language Cyber-Aggression Typology Questionnaire (CATQ) by K. C. Runions on 421 Russian-speaking teenagers aged 10–15 years (St. Petersburg). The method features four types of online aggression. K. C. Runions describes the cyber-aggression in teenagers through their motivational goals and the ability to behavioral self-control. The procedures of exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis confirmed the four-factor model of the original questionnaire. All factors were balanced by the number of statements. The final version of the questionnaire included 23 statements. The structure of the questionnaire was represented by the following factors: impulsive-aversive cyber-aggression, controlled-aversive cyberaggression, controlled-appetitive cyber-aggression, and impulsive-appetitive cyber-aggression. The questionnaire showed good indicators of discriminativeness and reliability; it can serve as a reliable psychological diagnosis tool for studying the phenomenon of cyber-aggression in scientific and practical purposes. Understanding the motivations behind cyber-aggressive behavior can help to develop new preventive measures based on individual differences in the disadaptive factors of online aggression.

The results of monitoring activities to prevent aggressive behavior of students in state schools of various regions of the Russian Federation are presented. The purpose of the monitoring was to gather information on topical issues related to aggressive behavior and the system of preventive measures. The study was attended by heads of 81 schools from 40 Russian regions. The research tool was a questionnaire developed by the authors, consisting of 137 questions. The survey was conducted in 2021. The results of the study showed that the problem of aggression among students, manifested in various forms – verbal, physical, social, cyber aggression, including conflicts and bullying, as well as autoaggressive behavior, is of high relevance. In addition, the data show that there is a lack of systematics in the preventive activities implemented in schools, both in the field of the forms of work used, and in the choice of the target audience, the number of specialists involved. Based on the results, a research and application approach is proposed to support and develop systemic prevention work in schools.

To empirically determine the factor structure of the original sixty-seven-item Bereavement Experience Questionnaire (BEQ) (Demi, 1984; Demi & Schroeder, 1987, 1989), data from 437 adults bereaved within the past two years were subjected to exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. Results did not support the original theoretically based, eight-factor structure, but did suggest a three-factor structure with fewer items. A twenty-four-item three-factor (Existential Loss/Emotional Needs, Guilt/Blame/Anger, Preoccupation with Thoughts of Deceased) LISREL measurement model fit the data well. In addition, this three-factor model made good theoretical sense. This empirically derived twenty-four-item three-factor scale was then cross-validated with independent data from an additional 297 bereaved adults. The use of this refined measure of grief, the BEQ-24, is discussed.

The Psychological Skills Inventory for Sports (PSIS R-5; Mahoney, Gabriel, & Perkins, 1987) contains 45 items designed to measure six psychological skills related to athletic performance. The present study examined selected psychometric properties of the PSIS R-5. Results of confirmatory factor analyses, conducted using intercollegiate athletes (N = 340), indicated that the predicted six-factor model did not fit the data. Model modifications were examined but failed to provide an adequate fit. Internal consistency estimates for five of the six scales also indicated poor reliability. The results are discussed in relation to the applied use of the PSIS R-5. Emphasis is placed on the need to carefully evaluate the psychometric characteristics of instruments that are designed for use in applied sport psychology.

Although anger tends to lead to aggressive behavior, the underlying processes that moderate this relationship are largely unknown. Our aim with this study was to explore the relationship between adolescents’ online anger and cyber aggression and the moderating effect of seeking online social support. Participants were 509 Chinese adolescents who completed anonymous questionnaires about seeking social support, online anger, and online aggression. Cyber aggression had a significant negative correlation with seeking social support and a significant positive correlation with online anger. This direct association between online anger and cyber aggression was moderated by seeking social support online, such that the positive relationship between online anger and cyber aggression was significant only among adolescents low in seeking online social support. These results suggest that seeking online social support can mitigate cyber aggression among adolescents in the context of mild online anger.

Straipsnyje pristatoma Zimbardo laiko perspektyvos klausimyno (ZTPI) lietuviškoji versija ir jos psichometrinės charakteristikos. Atlikti keturi tyrimai (1529 dalyviai) siekiant įvertinti konstrukto bei konvergentinį validumą ir kitas psichometrines charakteristikas. Patvirtinančiosios faktorinės analizės metu gauti tokie tinkamumo indeksai: chi kvadratas = 3262,546; df = 1474; p < 0,001; chi kvardatas / df = 2,216; RMSEA = 0,044; CFI = 0,666; TLI = 0,651, jie yra priimtini, išskyrus CFI ir TLI reikšmes. Visos gautos subskalių Cronbacho alpha reikšmės viršijo 0,7, išskyrus pozityvios praeities subskalę. Pozityvios praeities subskalės Cronbacho alpha koeficiento reikšmė lygi 0,634. Atlikto tyrimo rezultatai rodo, kad lietuviška ZTPI versija pasižymi nors ir neidealiomis, bet priimtinomis psichometrinėmis charakteristikomis ir esmingai nesiskiria nuo originalo ir kitose šalyse darytų adaptacijų.Pagrindiniai žodžiai: laiko perspektyva, ZTPI, lietuviška ZTPI versija.The Lithuanian Version of the Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory (ZTPI)Audronė Liniauskaitė, Antanas Kairys SummaryThe article presents the process of adaptation of the Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory (ZPTI) in Lithuania and the psychometric characteristics of the Lithuanian ZTPI version. To assess the construct and its convergent validity, as well as other psychometric characteristics, four studies with the participation of 1529 respondents were conducted. By means of confirmatory factor analysis, the following goodness of fit indices were obtained: Chi-square = 3262.546; df = 1474; p < 0.001; Chi-square/df = 2.216; RMSEA = 0.044; CFI = 0.666; TLI = 0.651. All of them were acceptable, except for the values of CFI and TLI. All the obtained subscale Cronbach alpha values exceeded 0.7, with the exception of Past Positive. The valueof the Past Positive Cronbach‘s alpha coefficient was 0.634. The findings of the study have shown quite acceptable psychometric characteristics of the Lithuanian ZTPI version which does not essentially differ from the original or its adaptations in other countries.Key words: time perspective, ZTPI, Lithuanian ZPTI version.

Abstract. General self-efficacy is a central personality trait often evaluated in surveys as context variable. It can be interpreted as a personal coping resource reflecting individual belief in one’s overall competence to perform across a variety of situations. The German-language Allgemeine-Selbstwirksamkeit-Kurzskala (ASKU) is a reliable and valid instrument to assess this disposition in the German-speaking countries based on a three-item equation. This study develops a French version of the ASKU and tests this French version for measurement invariance compared to the original ASKU. A reliable and valid French instrument would make it easy to collect data in the French-speaking countries and allow comparisons between the French and German results. Data were collected on a sample of 1,716 adolescents. Confirmatory factor analysis resulted in a good fit for a single-factor model of the data (in total, French, and German version). Additionally, construct validity was assessed by elucidating intercorrelations between the ASKU and different factors that should theoretically be related to ASKU. Furthermore, we confirmed configural and metric as well as scalar invariance between the different language versions, meaning that all forms of statistical comparison between the developed French version and the original German version are allowed.

The relation between authoritarianism and social dominance orientation was analyzed, with authoritarianism measured using a three-dimensional scale. The implicit multidimensional structure (authoritarian submission, conventionalism, authoritarian aggression) of Altemeyer’s (1981, 1988) conceptualization of authoritarianism is inconsistent with its one-dimensional methodological operationalization. The dimensionality of authoritarianism was investigated using confirmatory factor analysis in a sample of 713 university students. As hypothesized, the three-factor model fit the data significantly better than the one-factor model. Regression analyses revealed that only authoritarian aggression was related to social dominance orientation. That is, only intolerance of deviance was related to high social dominance, whereas submissiveness was not.

The present paper reexamines the psychometric properties of the Quality Perception Questionnaire (QPQ), an Italian survey instrument measuring patients’ perceptions of the quality of a recent hospital admission experience, in a sample of 4400 patients (Mage = 56.42 years; SD = 19.71 years, 48.8% females). The 14-item survey measures four factors: satisfaction with medical doctors, nursing staff, auxiliary staff, and hospital structures. First, we tested two models using a confirmatory factor analysis (structural equation modeling): a four orthogonal factor and a four oblique factor model. The SEM fit indices and the χ² difference suggested the acceptance of the second model. We then did a simulation using a bootstrap with 1000 replications. Results confirmed the four oblique factor solution. Third, we tested whether there were significant differences with respect to age or sex. The multivariate general linear model showed no significant differences in the factors with respect to sex or age.

Abstract. Procrastination at work has been examined relatively scarcely, partly due to the lack of a globally validated and context-specific workplace procrastination scale. This study investigates the psychometric characteristics of the Procrastination at Work Scale (PAWS) among 1,028 office employees from seven countries, namely, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Finland, Slovenia, Turkey, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom. Specifically, it was aimed to test the measurement invariance of the PAWS and explore its discriminant validity by examining its relationships with work engagement and performance. Multi-group confirmatory factor analysis shows that the basic factor structure and item loadings of the PAWS are invariant across countries. Furthermore, the two subdimensions of procrastination at work exhibited different patterns of relationships with work engagement and performance. Whereas soldiering was negatively related to work engagement and task performance, cyberslacking was unrelated to engagement and performance. These results indicate further validity evidence for the PAWS and the psychometric characteristics show invariance across various countries/languages. Moreover, workplace procrastination, especially soldiering, is a problematic behavior that shows negative links with work engagement and performance.

Abstract. The Therapist Adherence Measure (TAM-R) is a central assessment within the quality-assurance system of Multisystemic Therapy (MST). Studies into the validity and reliability of the TAM in the US have found varying numbers of latent factors. The current study aimed to reexamine its factor structure using two independent samples of families participating in MST in the Netherlands. The factor structure was explored using an Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) in Sample 1 ( N = 580). This resulted in a two-factor solution. The factors were labeled “therapist adherence” and “client–therapist alliance.” Four cross-loading items were dropped. Reliability of the resulting factors was good. This two-factor model showed good model fit in a subsequent Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) in Sample 2 ( N = 723). The current finding of an alliance component corroborates previous studies and fits with the focus of the MST treatment model on creating engagement.
