The digitalization of higher education, the emerging trends for further improvement and implementation of e-learning and distance learning technologies have revealed the need to rethink the practices of implementing vocationally-oriented language training at a university and have led to the transition to a blended learning model. The purpose of the research: to reveal the potential of blended learning in foreign language teaching. The research methods: the method of selection, generalization and dissemination of advanced pedagogical experience. The research results: the potential of blended learning in foreign language teaching has been substantiated; the studies related to the problem of blended learning in foreign language teaching has been analyzed. Integration of digital educational resources and e-learning technologies (VLE and MIND) in the implementation of a mixed format of professionally oriented language training at a technical university expands the possibilities for creating a digital educational space as an integral component of educational activities in modern conditions. Key conclusions: Blended learning allows you to solve the problem of improving the quality of vocationally-oriented language training and the organization of academic interaction in a rotational mode; a meta-subject approach in teaching a foreign language for professional purposes creates opportunities for using existing and developing your own digital educational resources (CER); integration of ICT, allows you to achieve a qualitatively new level of delivery of educational content.

The paper presents issues associated with the introduction of effective educational technologies to distance learning a foreign language at the university. The review of the author’s use of Zoom technology in medical education is presented. The current problems of introduction of distance learning technologies in teaching English language to medical students are determined. The article considers the peculiarities of providing English-language training of (future) aviation specialists for professional self-realization and performance of professional duties with the use of modern distance learning technologies. The specifics of distance learning are revealed. Terms and concepts, forms of learning are provided. Distance learning technologies, namely: psychological and pedagogical, information and communication, web-environment provide an opportunity to implement the process of distance learning in educational institutions. There are also two strategies for organizing distance learning: asynchronous distance learning and synchronous distance learning. During the planning and organization of distance learning a great role is given to the independent work of cadets. There are also IT elements that a lecturer and a cadet should be able to use in professional interaction. It is noted that Internet technologies, the ability to use Internet resources have a special place in the formation of professional self-realization of a future aviation specialist and providing innovative approaches to the educational environment. The main tasks of English language training in the educational language centers of the Flight Academy of NAU are: improving language skills and strengthening the communicative competence of the teacher / instructor to teach the professional disciplines in English, teaching professional English, preparation for the general English exam at level B2. The use of distance learning technologies in the English-language training of future aviation specialists requires a high level of knowledge, both theoretical and practical. It is necessary to interest and direct students to the use of innovative methods in order to build their professional capacity to use information and communication technologies in their further professional self-realization. Statement of the problem. The article studies the problem of formation of students’ readiness for independent work when studying a foreign language. The article substantiates the necessity of using distance learning technologies for the effective organization of students’ independent work in foreign language classes. The article analyzes the work with a foreign text in the formation of students’ readiness for independent work through distance educational technologies. The purpose of the article is to identify methods and tools for step-by-step work on the text of a foreign language through distance educational technologies for the formation of students’ readiness for independent work. The methodology is based on the analysis and synthesis of the experience gained in science and practice of teaching a foreign language to students of various specializations. Research results. Based on the analysis of published scientific studies, the methods and tools of working with a text in a foreign language are identified. The choice of the methods and tools is determined by the purpose of the lesson, the type of text chosen for reading, and the stages of working with the text. A system of exercises for students’ independent work on the development of reading skills based on the electronic platform LMS Moodle is proposed. LMS Moodle has many tools for creating these exercises. One can select tools that correspond to the level of students’ training, the type of text and technical capabilities. Conclusion. The use of distance learning technologies in teaching a foreign language significantly increases the intensity of the educational process. It contributes to the formation of students’ readiness for independent work when learning a foreign language in general, and, in particular, when working with a text.

The need to know at least one foreign language is an important and undoubted factor on the path to success of modern man and professional in their field, given that more and more professionals and scientists seek international work, participate in international conferences. Until recently, foreign language classes were quite traditional, namely held in a real classroom, using traditional teaching methods and tools. But given the epidemic situation in 2020, more and more educational institutions are deciding to switch to blended or distance learning. Distance learning in these terms has become a decent attempt to solve the temporal and spatial constraints of the traditional personal learning. Online learning has been the result of the full adoption of technology as part of our lives. In today's world, the term "distance learning" originated due to needs of society and in a short period of time combined all the benefits of the use of modern technologies in the educational process, namely the use of social networking and multimedia along with traditional methods. Distance learning technologies are many new opportunities for teaching foreign languages that allow even more to expand the range of teaching techniques. This paper reports the issues and problems of transition from the traditional type of studying to the distance learning, as well as its features and difficulties that may arise during the transition. The article also reports the prospects for further use of distance learning. This work also highlights the psychological and pedagogical features that may affect the teacher's performance of their pedagogical activities, as well as problems that may arise during the transition to distance learning. The main methods of teaching a foreign language under distance learning are proposed.

The need for using distance learning technologies is one of the main features of modern situation in education, which results from the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The relevance of the research is caused by the need for studying distance learning resources in teaching foreign languages. In case of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, use of online technologies has become a part of the university lecturers’ work process, including foreign languages teachers. This study aims to examine and analyze pros and cons of online testing, as well as the results of Online Test Pad application, which was used as a tool in online testing. The methods we applied involved the study of theoretical works on the problems of distance learning and testing, as well as some empirical methods including observation and analysis of online testing results. The article gives examples of online assignments used in teaching English. Further research is needed to better understand Online Test Pad potential in university teaching of foreign languages.
