A smart city is an environment that uses innovative technologies to make networks and services more flexible, effective, and sustainable with the use of information, digital, and telecommunication technologies, improving the city’s operations for the benefit of its citizens. Most cities incorporate data acquisition elements from their own systems or those managed by subcontracted companies that can be used to optimise their resources: energy consumption, smart meters, lighting, irrigation water consumption, traffic data, camera images, waste collection, security systems, pollution meters, climate data, etc. The city-as-a-platform concept is becoming popular and it is increasingly evident that cities must have efficient management systems capable of deploying, for instance, IoT platforms, open data, etc., and of using artificial intelligence intensively. For many cities, data collection is not a problem, but managing and analysing data with the aim of optimising resources and improving the lives of citizens is. This article presents deepint.net, a platform for capturing, integrating, analysing, and creating dashboards, alert systems, optimisation models, etc. This article shows how deepint.net has been used to estimate pedestrian traffic on the streets of Melbourne (Australia) using the XGBoost algorithm. Given the current situation, it is advisable not to transit urban roads when overcrowded, thus, the model proposed in this paper (and implemented with deepint.net) facilitates the identification of areas with less pedestrian traffic. This use case is an example of an efficient crowd management system, implemented and operated via a platform that offers many possibilities for the management of the data collected in smart territories and cities.

Abstract The quality of pasteurized orange juice exposed to commercialization was evaluated. Samples, refrigerated and packed in “TetraPak” randomly collected were bought at the retail trade market of Recife, during the period of September/98 to July/99. Three commercial labels named A, B and C were evaluated, making a total of 60 samples. For each commercial label, the samples were acquired in two replicates, one of which was destined to physicochemical analysis (vitamin C, total acidity, total soluble solids and pH) and the other to the incubation test (35 ºC during 10 days). The labels assayed assisted to the established quality pattern of the Ministry of Agriculture, except the C label. This label presented in 70% of the analyzed samples, lower TSS rates than those considered as standard, it also showed signs of deterioration during the incubation test in 10% of the samples, evidencing flaws in the thermal procedure. The aseptic procedure associated to the refrigerated storage allowed all samples of the assayed labels to show vitamin C levels higher than the minimum established by the Ministry of Agriculture.

The article discovers the nature and significance of the complex of marketing communications in the market activities of trade retail enterprises of Ukraine and analyzes the features and key indicators of the development of the food retail market in recent years. Based on the results of a consumer survey and statistics on the cost of marketing communications of enterprises in 2020, individual changes in customer purchasing behavior caused by quarantine restrictions imposed due to the COVID-19 pandemic are characterized. Among these changes, attempts to reduce the number of visits and minimize the time spent in the store are highlighted, an increase in the volume of simultaneous purchases of "necessary" goods and a decrease in the number of spontaneous and unplanned purchases, a change in priorities regarding store formats and their remoteness, an increase in the popularity of online shopping and delivery services, and so on. The influence of the identified changes on the attitude of customers to marketing communications of retail trade entities is determined and possible directions for adapting the communication policy of enterprises to work in quarantine conditions are indicated. In particular, the possibilities of adapting individual advertising tools at the place of sale, advertising in social media and instant messengers, sales promotion measures, commercial propaganda and sponsorship are defined.

This paper deals with the spatial diversity of modern channels of retail trade represented by large shops (such as hypermarkets, supermarkets and discount shops) in the Dolnośląskie Voivodeship. This is presented against the background of the main changes to which Polish retail trade has been subjected in recent years.Despite the dynamic growth of a large retail network in Poland, the internal trade market, especially that of the grocery market, is one of the most fragmented in Europe. This still developing market is where the processes of consolidation and creation of complex networks of large shops will take place in the near future. Changing consumer preferences in favour of modern commercial buildings, but also the investment of foreign and, increasingly, Polish capital have led to this situation. The article sets out the conditions of distribution of large retail areas in the Dolnośląskie Voivodeship, which are: population density, the concentration of population (urban areas, cities), level of socio-economic development and the proximity of the German-Polish border. It shows the position of the Dolnośląskie region alongside the rest of the country within the parameters of the research. The Dolnośląskie Voivodeship is a region with a high density of retail space. Its accessibility ratio’s value is slightly lower than in those provinces with the highest values of the index, as a result of its higher population density.

Teimuraz Teimurazovich Vashakmadze - Director of the Master's program, assistant professor of business and management strategy, IBDA RASHiGS under the President of the Russian Federation.Emil G. MartirosyanAnastasia Alexandrovna Sergeeva In the post crisis years, the Russian food retail market has skyrocketed and run ahead of the market in general. Our research reveals major value drivers and explores the value creation of companies by comparison based on a P/B ratio. The analysis of performance indicators of the three biggest Russian food retailers provides evidence suggests that ROE can explain the difference and positive relationship of a P/B ratio. Our findings suggest that retail companies are increasing ROE through net profit margin improvement. In addition, we found out that a higher Store/DC ratio has a strong correlation to the ROE of a company. The key question of the paper is identifying a combination of factors that drive performance and value creation in post-crisis period in non-consolidated Russian food retail market. Thus, our research is aimed at providing a broader picture of factors that influence value creation in a retail market, such as cross-docking, franchising, recognition of product matrix, management decision decentralization, focusing on core activity and commercial conditions with suppliers. In this article we have explained the business factors that mostly influenced the corporate ROE and the price-per-book value of the company of the Russian food retail industry. After the analysis of three Russian retail chains we have come to the conclusion that the retail business development in Russia (apart from the consumer market factors) mostly depends on efficient management in operations and on having good commercial conditions with suppliers. At the same time there is a direct impact on the retailers’ gross margins from the specific operational solutions like crossdocking implementations.

It is important to analyze the manifestations of the crisis at the regional level, which allows both regional (local) and national authorities to develop effective support tools. From this point of view, it is important to clearly understand which aspects of economic development the crisis has a key impact on, and whether such impact is uniform across different sectors and areas of economic development. Much attention is paid to the problem of assessing the state of the business environment. However, the main disadvantage of most of them is that they are sometimes difficult to conduct in terms of operational analysis and availability of open data. The object of research is the processes of studying the state of the region's economy. The subject of the research is the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the current economic crisis on the region's economies. In the process of scientific research, we solved such tasks: identification of key problematic factors in relation to regional economic development, including caused by pandemic and lockdown; reliable, freely available and up-to-date sources of statistical information on regional economic development are identified; a comprehensive method of generalizing the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the economic crisis on regional economic development. We proposed to analyze the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the current economic crisis on the economic development of the regions of Ukraine on the example of Sumy region. The analysis is based on open data from static authorities, which periodically publish monthly and quarterly information. The study confirmed the serious negative impact of lockdown and pandemic on the economic development of the region in a number of key indicators: the index of industrial production, the volume of industrial products sold, freight turnover and passenger turnover. At the same time, we observe a generally neutral impact of the crisis on such regional indicators of economic development as the volume of commodity export and import transactions and the stability of retail trade.

India has high digital ambitions despite considerable poverty, the digital divide, and continued high currency usage. Digitalisation has caused both excitement and fear in India – government and companies are excited about an increase in efficiency, closing the leakages, customer confidence, and satisfaction. The present study examines the role of digitalisation in the Indian economy, especially in creating a unique Digital ID (Aadhaar) and its impact on the economic, financial, and payment infrastructure. The study finds major innovations in cheque processing, real-time gross settlement, national electronic fund transfer, and other payment methods have considerably reduced the cost of banking facility in India. The Indian capital market has already witnessed electronic trading and settlement and has recently witnessed emergence of no-brokerage companies which can change the fundamental dynamics of the investment industry in India. The retail trade market, especially e-commerce, ride share market in India reflecting global trends, has also witnessed considerable “multi-homing.”

In northern Europe, largest part of non-wood forest products (NWFPs) are gathered for recreational purposes and household consumption, but considerable amount of forest berries and mushrooms are sold as well. Retail market, largely invisible for the official statistics, reveals the lifestyle-related aspects of NWFP trade and may help to understand the flows of this ecosystem service when information on wholesale trade is inaccessible. The prices and flows of most common NWFPs – edible berries, mushrooms and tree sap – in the retail market in Latvia in 2017 and 2018 were analysed based on direct interviews with the sellers in marketplaces and telephone interviews with online retailers. The mean retail prices of NWFPs were compared between statistical regions and years and correlated with socio-economic data and forest characteristics. The directions of the NWFP flows were analysed according to the place of origin and place of retail sales. The highest prices were recorded for stinkhorn ( Pers.) and spp. among mushrooms, for wild strawberries ( L.) among berries and for maple ( L.) sap in the product group of tree sap. The retail price of the same products differed between years, most likely due to the product availability, largely caused by meteorological conditions. In more than half of the cases of recorded sales, NWFPs were consumed in the same region as they were gathered. For other cases of sales, the capital, Rīga, was the main service benefitting area of NWFP retail trade, and the largest part of the products originated from the two closest statistical regions.Phallus impudicusBoletesFragaria vescaAcer platanoides

<p><span><span>The global urbanization process, along with the environmental impacts it carries with it, requires the adoption of innovative programming strategies for the sustainable and efficient management of natural resources and to improve the resilience of cities to natural disasters. In this scenario where the acquisition of a deeper and as thorough as possible knowledge of the territory on the problems connected with the phenomena of hydrogeological instability and natural risk in general that can affect the inhabited centers pose new challenges both at the level of government and for the scientific community. Further, it is also important to organize and make these complex information easily accessible to stakeholders, i.e. administrators, planners and civil protection. </span></span></p><p><span><span>In the framework of two national projects, CLARA (</span><span>CLoud plAtform and smart underground imaging for natural Risk Assessment</span><span>) and SPOT (Development of</span><span> a Platform for the provision of innovative services based on Earth Observation data), a systemic approach based on the integration of the latest enabling technologies (remote sensing and ground-based, active and passive, direct and indirect, multi-sources and multi-resolution) for the geo-physical characterization (seismic and electromagnetic) of the surface and near-surface and for the dynamic characterization of soil structure/infrastructure interactions was applied in the urban area of the city of Matera (southern Italy).
