Follow the path: A learning proposal for the EFL flipped classroom
Considering the need of providing students with new approaches for the learning of English, this paper attempts at offering primary-school teachers some ideas for the EFL flipped classroom. One of the problems of in-service teachers is the lack of knowledge about this methodology and its applicability in the language classroom. Once they understand the requirements, the lack of attractive resources makes them doubt about their practicability. In order to solve this, this paper proposes the use of learning paths created with the well-known social bookmarking site Symbaloo. These learning paths can be built with the requirements of the any specific classroom, easily personalized and shared. Symbaloo learning paths enable user to gather diverse material and resources using both online resources and self-created teaching material. The role of LKT/ICT needs to be considered here and some options are provided for the learning path so as to complement the contents in the classroom. This article shows the steps to follow and the resources which can suit the needs of most primary school teachers in the building of a learning path. Finally, an example of genuine learning path is provided.
