Childhood is taken up time and again in Argentine literature of the first decades of the 21st century. These are novels that engage various forms of humor, from extreme satire to imposed naivety. This broad register serves to destabilize ideas established throughout the 20th century about the management of the lives of minors. Imaginaries formed by television have become part of several texts, together with what could be termed the “infant library”, that is to say, the children’s literature read by contemporary writers. Argentine narrative of the period accounts for the serious social crisis caused by the hegemony of neoliberalism, as well as its consequences on children’s lives, revealing the fissures in the discourses surrounding their rights. The present article examines these issues in relation to three recent novels: Quedate conmigo (2017) by I. Acevedo, La maldición de Jacinta Pichimahuida (2007) by Lucía Puenzo and Osos (2010) by Diego Vecchio. They will be addressed here within the theoretical frameworks offered by Kathryn B. Stockton in her book The Queer Child (2009).

The present article focuses on the presence of women in the field of Portuguese archaeology. Based on a bibliometric analysis of two archaeology magazines – O Arqueólogo Português and Trabalhos de Antropologia e Etnologia – as well as data gathering from Endovélico, regarding archaeological excavations directed by women. Both magazines reveal a minority presence. In which it can be seen a number that starts below 1 %, in the first decades of the 20th century, to reach almost even numbers in the second decade of the 21st century. In addition, collection of data from Endovélico demonstrates the effective growth of women in the second half of the 20th century. In a path, sometimes more abrupt than gradual, due to a set of political, social, and ideological factors.

ABSTRACTThe role played by the avant-garde in Cesar Vallejo is one more step up to the gestation and reaffirmation of a work that assumes, with all its contradictions, the contextualization of a time which, little by little, resulting in brutal dialectics. Later, Vallejo lived it first-hand with European intellectuals and the so-called Group 27, which condensed a sense of void and identity loss having little or nothing to do with this so personal universe that makes the real thing visible. In that way, it offers a new understanding of the poetry of the 20th century. Are we talking about the 21st century? Keywords: Avant-garde, dialectic, individualism, aesthetics, reality.

The institution of accounting normalization at a national level can essentially be as public, private and mixed. On its nature depend the way of accepting/imposing the accounting norms and also the character of these norms, character which can be more or less restrictive. The present article is a study regarding the institution of normalization of accounting in Romania from the beginning (when the process of normalizing the Romanian accounting began) to present, following its changes through two stages which have marked the evolution of our country in the second half of the 20th century and beginning of the 21st century: the stage of socialism, having a centralized economy, and the stage of transition to a market economy, which started right after the 1989 Revolution. Within post-revolutionary stage, under the Ministry of Finances, the institution of accounting normalization in Romania, a mixed organism was created, which sums up a large series of “actors” interested in the accounting information and has the role of allowing those actors to involve into the process of normalization, which would let the Romanian accounting normalization pass from an exclusively public approach to a mixed one.

In this article, we intend to show how critical editing of texts has changed over time and how philologist-editors have taken different critique, politic and social attitudes in the task of editing texts, taking into account their interests regarding the editorial project to be developed, the idiosyncrasies of the materials that make up the archive corpus, the commitment to the text and the reading that will circulate at another point in our history (literary and dramaturgical), among other aspects arising from the examined textual situations. We briefly discuss editorial theories and methodologies, seeking to show how the ecdotic method was transformed from the 19th to the 21st century, outlining contemporary philological practice in two aspects: platonic (teleological) and pragmatic (sociological) in paper and electronic support. To illustrate and comment on the editorial practice of 20th-century texts, poems, short stories, and above all censored theatrical texts, we bring a synthesis of the work developed within the Institute of Letters from Federal University of Bahia, in the research group that I coordinate, considering the editorial models adopted (digital facsimile, synoptic-critique, interpretive, critique, genetics, critical-genetics, electronic/digital [hypertextual archive or hyperEditing]), according to the critical, philological, genetic and sociological approaches. Also, we consider that critical-philological studies point to a particular theme selected by the philologist for weave comments and criticism.

AbstractSince the latter half of the 20th century, studies of linguistic signs have exhibited a steady tendency to shift inwards from “form” to “cognition”, the unfolding of which is driven by linguistic globalization and cultural globalization. The present article attempts to account for this shift and to further explore the implications of contemporary linguistic sign studies for the internal mechanism of the human brain and neurons and the intelligent mechanism of the text and culture. If it can be said that the 20th century was the era of formal linguistics, then it is rightful to say that the 21st century will be the era of cognitive linguistics. “Shifting toward cognition” will have a profound impact upon the development of various disciplines in the 21st century and all humanity.

The present article addresses the principal phonetic phenomena of the languages used in borderland areas and their interaction. It analyzes of dialectological and sociolinguistic material collected from the end of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century from three points in the Šalčininkai district. It analyzes the phonetic convergence of the dominating local language varieties — Belarusian, Polish and Lithuanian — and establishes the tendencies of this process. The situations of natural communication in the context of code-switching are analyzed in the study: when the speakers are fluent and use several languages at the same time by actively switching between them in conversations. The research is, based on the theory proposed by Valerijus Čekmonas, the researcher of the interaction of languages and Slavicist: the speaker switches between languages according to certain rules, which can be described by algorithms. Based on this method of algorithms, the study reveals the phonetic tendencies and proves a very important role and influence of the now passively used Lithuanian language on the articulation of contemporary Slavic languages. The research showed that the reasons of convergence of phonetic phenomena of the language varieties functioning in the borderland areas are mainly sociolinguistic. After comparing the phonetic peculiarities of local Polish and Belarusian dialects, it turned out that the phonetics of both dialects is essentially the same. The informants pronounce the soft consonants used in the local Lithuanian dialect in the same way as they are pronounced when speaking local Slavic dialects. The cases, which are not typical of Belarusian and Polish dialects, when consonants are intensively confused, were recorded; it is likely a feature of the Lithuanian substratum.

First Readers Written and First Memory Pereira (Risaralda, Colombia) in the Early Twentieth Century: Entry into Modern LifeAbstractThe present article enquires into the production, content, and circulation of some of the first journals published in Pereira (Risaralda, Colombia) in the first two decades of the 20th Century, with the aim of tracking in them the initial images of the city, and the way the press discourse operates in the composition of some social roles. Thus, we highlight the role of the journalist in front of the local administration, and the subtle emergence of some modern actors: the subscriber, as a receptor committed with the circulation of printed material, and the reader, as the user who begins to make use of the first local libraries. Two questions emerge concerning the first written memories interwoven in the city, and the implications in the construction of a social dynamics, where the journalistic register implies a historic process which then turns into a document of primary importance for the understanding of a notion of life in community, with regard to the processes of modernization early assumed by Pereira in the 2oth century, in a period in which, in administrative terms, the city was ascribed to the Great Caldas. Keywords: local press, subscriber, printing press, reader, journalism, Pereira
