The purpose of this study was to analyze the mathematical problem-solving ability and characters of students who were taught using problem-based learning and ordinary learning based on Islamic perspectives. The instrument used in this study was a test of problem-solving ability and a students’ character questionnaire. This research was a quasi-experimental research with pre-test and post-test control group design. The sample of this research was 84 students from Private Islamic School in Medan, North Sumatera, by using a purposive sampling technique. The data in this research was declared homogenous and normal after being tested using the Levene’s Test and Kolmogorov-Smirnov Test. The hypothesis analyzes used was the Two Way-ANOVA test assisted by SPSS 25. The result showed that there was an improvement in mathematical problem-solving ability and students' characters through problem-based learning based on Islamic perspectives. However, there was no interaction between students' gender and problem-solving ability and character improvement based on Islamic perspectives. The gender factor in problem-based learning was not related to students’ cognitive and affective aspects. Each student with any gender had difference characters, especially related to Islamic perspectives. This research-proven that problem-based learning model had an important role in teaching and learning, and it can be used to improve students' mathematical and character problem-solving ability.

One lesson to improve mathematical problem solving is based learning problems . The purpose of this study was to determine the increase in students' mathematical problem solving ability as a result of problem-based learning. This study is a quasi-experimental study that applies two problem-based learning and conventional learning. The population in this study were students in one of the vocational schools in Garut. Sampling was done by purposive sampling, and obtained two classes as the study sample. The research instrument used was a test of mathematical problem solving abilities. Based on these results we concluded that: (1) the increase in students' mathematical problem solving ability that gets problem-based learning better than students who received conventional learning, (2) mistakes made by student when working on the problems related to mathematical problem solving ability was a mistake due to carelessness or less closely, tansform fault information, error process skills, and misunderstanding question. Keywords: problem based learning, mathematical problem solving ability

Pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share terbukti cukup efektif meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Think Pair Share Type Cooperative Learning Model to improve Mathematical Problem Solving Ability AbstractEfforts are needed to improve the achievement of mathematical problem-solving abilities that are still low, for example using the Think Pair Share type of learning model. The purpose of this research is to find out how much improvement and how much the students' mathematical problem-solving ability increases through the Think Pair Share learning model. The research method is quasi-experimental, with a population of eighth-grade students in one junior high school in Garut Regency. The sample is class VIII-A with 33 students, selected based on purposive sampling technique. Instruments in the form of test questions describing problem-solving abilities were tested before and after learning. The results of data analysis in the Think Pair Share class showed an increase in the ability to solve mathematical problems in the medium category. Cooperative learning Think Pair Share type proved effective enough to improve students' mathematical problem-solving abilities.

This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of mobile blended compared to conventional problem-based learning on mathematical problem-solving skills and look for students' responses about the use of online learning. The study was conducted using a pretest-posttest quasi-experimental research design supported with descriptive qualitative responses involving 188 students taken by applying cluster random sampling as subjects of research distributed from vocational high schools in Bojonegoro City, East Java, Indonesia. Research findings revealed that mathematical problem-solving skills for students treated with mobile blended problem-based learning were higher than those who have been treated with purely problem-based learning. In addition, students have responded positively to the usage of mobile blended problem-based learning that was applicable and acceptable for effectively improving mathematical problem-solving skills.
