The initial cost estimate for a bridge project using an estimation model can be done based on the dimensions, type, and material of the bridge. Research that has included bridge location as a determinant variable for initial bridge cost estimation has not been carried out much. The different locations of the bridge project will have different seismic accelerations and seismic load analysis. This study aims to create a model used to calculate the quantity needed for the construction of abutment in various locations with a PCI-Girder superstructure. The data used for the quantity estimation model was derived from the abutment design results. The data obtained from the calculation of concrete and reinforcing steel quantities from the abutment design with variations in bridge span i.e. 20 m; 25 m; 30 m; 35 m; and 40 m, abutment height i.e. 4 m; 6 m; and 8 m, and seismic zone 1, 2, 3, and 4. Volume estimation models are obtained by multiple linear regression analysis. The results show a very strong correlation between the span of the bridge and the height of abutment with the dependent variables. While the seismic zone has a strong correlation with the dependent variables. However, the seismic zone in this study did not meet the linear regression assumptions. This study developed 8 models to estimate abutment volumes. The R2 values of these models are 0.983 – 0.997. These showed that the models are properly made to be used to estimate abutment volumes with a PCI-Girder superstructure.

One of the owner’s common problem before executing construction projects is the complexity in estimating the project cost in an early stage. Inaccurate cost estimation will force the owner to make further arrangement to the project budget. This study aims to develop an initial cost estimation model for superstructures of Precast I-girder Bridge. Cost estimation model was developed based on thirteen data of detail engineering design of I-girder bridge in Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta (DIY). Factors influencing the cost of the superstructures of the I-girder bridge were identified. Bridge span and width, the size of the sidewalk, and railing’s type are considered as variables affecting the cost of superstructures. These variables are then arranged into two different analysis Multiple Linear Regression (MLR) analysis and Artificial Neural Network (ANN), in order to obtain the best estimation model. The results of the analysis showed that bridge span and width were the significant factors influencing cost. The correlation value of bridge span is 89.0%, bridge width is 74.2%, the size of the sidewalk is 66.1%, and railing’s type is 46.1% as identified factors that affect the cost of the superstructure. A comparative model of two approaches shows that the ANN has better accuracy than that of MLR, although the difference was not significant.

The main aim of this paper is to to explore the perception and attitude of people toward an important issue like the City Garbage Management. A new Survey Questionnaire to measure the perception and attitudes towards city garbage management has been developed by the Authors, in order to realize a very first analysis of compatibility of the Comprehensive Action Determination Model - CADM (Klöckner, 2013) with City Garbage Management issues. To test the application of the CADM model to City Garbage Management, a simple linear regression was calculated to predict the dependent variables based on predictor variables according the CADM model. The linear regression analysis shows a first confirmation of the CADM model applied to the perception and attitudes towards city garbage management.

This paper analyzes the correlations between the problem domain measures such as the number of distinct nouns and distinct verbs in the requirements artifacts and the solution domain measures such as the number of software classes and methods in the corresponding object-oriented software. For this purpose, 14 completed software development projects of a CMMI Level-3 certified defense industry company have been analyzed. The observed strong correlation is taken as the indication of linear relationship between the measures and a size estimation model based on linear regression analysis is proposed. Prediction performance of the method is analyzed on the 14 software projects. Moreover, it has been observed that there is a high correlation between the problem domain measures and the development effort. Therefore, the linear regression analysis is also used to estimate the effort in terms of the problem domain measures. The effort estimations are also evaluated and compared with the efforts predicted using the size measured by the COSMIC Function Point (CFP) method. The results show that the proposed method provides more accurate effort estimates compared to the effort estimated by using CFP size measurement.

This research is motivated by many types and brands of helmets offered to consumers in the market. So that each helmet company must create a strategy to maintain and achieve a higher market share. The problem in this study is "How is the influence of price, quality and promotion of the decision to purchase GM brand helmets for STIE HAS Bukittinggi students. The data used are primary and secondary data. The research data was obtained through questionnaires to 68 respondents. The variables used were dependent variables, namely purchasing decision (Y) and independent variables namely price (X1), and promotion (X2). The method of analysis used by the writer in this research is multiple linear regression analysis. The results of multiple linear regression analysis obtained the following equation: Y = 15,070 + 0,222 X1 + 0.782 X2 obtained that prices and promotions have a positive effect on purchasing decisions. The results of the t test and f test are partially and simultaneously have a significant effect on purchasing decisions.

Objective: The present research work was designed to formulate and optimize doxorubicin HCl proniosomes by design of experiment (DoE). Methods: A 4-factor, 3-level Box-Behnken design was used to explain multiple linear regression analysis and contour 3D plot responses. The independent variables selected were tween 20, cholesterol, hydration volume and sonication time; dependent variables percentage entrapment efficiency (PEE), mean vesicle size (MVS). Based on the Box-Behnken design 29 trial runs were studied and optimized for PEE and MVS. Further "Model F-Value" was calculated to confirm the omission of insignificant terms from the full-model equation to derive a multiple linear regression analysis to predict the PEE and MVS of niosomes derived from proniosomes. 3D plots were constructed to show the influence of independent variables on dependent variables. Results: PEE of doxorubicin HCl proniosomes was found to be in the range of 40.21-87.5%. The polynomial equation for PEE exhibited a good correlation coefficient (0.5524) and the "Model F-Value" of 7.41 implies the model is significant. P-values less than 0.0500 indicate model terms are significant. The MVS of doxorubicin HCl proniosomes was found to be in the range of 325.2 nm to 420.25 nm. The mathematical model generated for MVS (R2) was found to be significant with model F-value of 54.22. There is only a 0.01% chance that a "Model F-Value" this large could occur due to noise (P<0.0500) and R2 value of 0.9004. Conclusion: The DoE of Box-Behnken design demonstrated the role of the derived equation, 3D plot in predicting the values of dependent variables for the preparation and optimization of doxorubicin HCl proniosomes. The results suggest that doxorubicin HCl proniosomes can act as a promising carrier.
