Abstract: Traffic signals and roundabouts controls are commonly used in several at-grade junctions in urban areas for maximizing traffic efficiency and safety by separating traffic movements in time. The intersection performance is measured by comparing the parameters like- capacity, degree of saturation, delay, queue length, fuel consumption, operating costs and emission, etc. This research paper provides a comparative study of operational performance between a roundabout and signalized intersection at Gergi-Imperial. The traffic data on all approach of the intersection were collected by video camera during the most congested days of the week. The traffic volume obtained in different classes of a vehicle was converted to uniform vehicle fleet by the passenger car equivalency factor. The geometric data for the selected intersections were measured manually. Data analysis and processing were performed using SIDRA (Signalized and Unsignalized intersection Design and Research Aid) intersection software to compare the traffic flow condition at the intersection. The performance measures such as Average delay, Degree of saturation and Level of service at each intersection were interpreted for comparison. The capacities of the signalized intersection were found to be higher than the capacities of roundabout. Signalized intersection was found to be better than the roundabout in terms of the degree of operational performance. Keywords: Average delay, Intersection Capacity, SIDRA Software, Level of Service (LOS), roundabout, Signalized Intersection, Degree of Saturation

The better of society welfare makes the development rate of traffic as a means transportation is increasing as well. On the crossroad of Suprapto and Imam Bonjol street in Palangka Raya city, traffic conflicts often happened there due to the flow of traffic at the intersection is quite crowd in the morning, afternoon and evening. This study was conducted to analyze the performance of intersection by using MKJI done by comparing the time of red, green and circle time with the analysis results due to the changes in volume today. By using MKJI method, the variable is the size of the city, geometric, direction of flow, volume, velocity and phase. The results of the field survey dan the result of the analysis so the level of service and utilization of signal light at Suprapto Imam Bonjol is good enough, but for the using of traffic light at the intersection is still needed because of the degree of saturation (DS) on pendekat North = 0.618, Pendekat West = 0.635 and Pendekat East = 0.364 which still meets the standard value of Degree of Saturation, that is = 0.85 with an average delay of 2.83 sec/smp, and it means that the crossroad did not have traffic jams during rush hour. At this crossroad, it does not need any setting with traffic lights, but it is enough to be paired in median only.

Computer simulation is a vital means for the examination of expressways and urban lanes and streets. Transportation experts concentrate on the arrangement and dissemination of traffic jams on roadways. The objective of this study is to calculate and analyses the travel time, delay time, degree of saturation, and level of service and travel speed in Jordan intersection in Baghdad, Iraq using Sidra software. The number of vehicles passing Jordan intersection was recorded by the author of this work from 7am to 3pm for four days. A simulation model has been used to assess the performance of the current intersection. Results demonstrated that the level of service (LOS) for Jordan intersection is D with (35 sec/veh) average delay and degree of saturation (0.996 v/c). It was concluded that Jordan intersection needs further developments like using intelligent transportation system application (ITS) to regulate traffic signals, whereby reducing traffic jam, using closed circuit TV (CCTV) might assist traffic office in identifying jam point to reduce traffic jam.

Although concepts of the continuous flow intersection (CFI) have been around for approximately four decades, minimal or no literature describing studies that have analyzed pedestrian traffic performance at these intersections is available. Several studies have reported on the qualitative and quantitative benefits for the vehicular traffic performance of CFIs in comparison with the benefits for the vehicular traffic performance of conventional intersections but have provided minimal or no discussion about pedestrian traffic performance. As a novel intersection design, many important considerations are required to design pedestrian accesses and crossings at CFIs without compromising pedestrian safety and vehicular traffic performance. In this paper, the design methodologies for providing pedestrian access and related pedestrian signal timings are discussed. Modeling was conducted on three typical geometries for CFIs with base signal timings optimized for vehicular traffic performance. The results indicate an acceptable pedestrian level of service of B or C on the basis of the average delay per stop experienced by any pedestrian for pedestrian crossings at the typical CFI geometries modeled. All pedestrians served at the CFIs are accommodated within two cycles for a typical signal cycle length ranging from 60 to 100 s.

Jakarta as the capital city of Indonesia is the center of economy, culture, and politics. Jenderal Sudirman street always crowded with passing vehicles, traffic snarls up everyday. The causes of these traffic jam is an increase the number of vehicles and cause a change in traffic behavior. Theoretically there is a fudamental relationship between flow, speed, & density, so the purpose of these research are to analyze and evaluate performance of traffic capacity in various conditions based on Manual Kapasitas Jalan Indonesia 1997 and Greenshields model. Conclusion of the analysis are, after compared with traffic volume, capacity and speed based on MKJI are 3.127,6 pcu/hour and 55,7 km/hour, but the capacity of the model are selected because it’s largest, for sudirman – thamrin it’s 8.272,5 pcu/hour, and for thamrin – sudirman it’s 8.067,9 pcu/hour, While the calculation of free flow for sudirman – thamrin it’s 41.2 km/hour the lowest occurs in evening, and for thamrin – sudirman it’s 43,9 km/hour the lowest occurs in afternoon. The largest capacity it’s used for the next analysis, the next analysis are calculating degree of saturation and level of service, the result shows that the roads are at C and D.ABSTRAKJakarta ibu kota negara Indonesia merupakan pusat ekonomi, budaya, dan politik.

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) in the context of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) has become an important and substantial area of study for quite a few years. In this literature, while so much research has shed light on what makes SMEs integrate CSR into their business strategy, the existing results regarding their economic, social, and environmental motives are contradictory. In this article, we aim at making a contribution by conducting an integrative study. More specifically, we compare the roles of economic, social, and environmental motives in driving SMEs to make CSR become an integral part of their strategic planning and routine operational performance. Our sample includes 155 French SMEs.
