Recently there has been a great interest invested in maximizing higher education students’ knowledge retention as well as increasing students learning experience using web technologies. Many higher education institutions upgrade their learning facilities by integrating virtual learning system to their education provisions. Educational content management system is now a primary requirement in higher education provisions. However, as for the context of Indonesian higher education, upgrading the learning system may mean a total change of the way classes are delivered. Most of Indonesian higher education teachers are those with minimal exposure of virtual technological use in classrooms. Although these teachers are familiar with the common internet tools especially the electronic mail system and internet social media, they are not yet familiar with managing a content management system. Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) ar-Raniry is one of Perguruan Tinggi Keagamaan Islam Negeri (PTKIN) that share similar context. This study was conducted to explore UIN Ar-Raniry teachers’ readiness in delivering blended learning using Virtual Learning Environment. 124 teachers were participating in this research. The index of technological acceptance is relatively high (3.78). However, on the contrary digital technology use related to delivering lecture is relatively low. The use of e-mail and facebook is relatively popular among these teachers. The study found that teachers are interested in using more convenient digital tools in their classes if the university supports the trainings and assigns educational technology consultant to help them establish the virtual class and help with their technical troubles.

Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) uncovers a new learning space for students to start their learning in multidisciplinary subjects and provides an enormous storage for different types of learning materials. This brings not only the ease and flexibility to our learning, but also the challenges in organizing, managing, and controlling of information which is indispensable to the design of an effective online learning system. In particular, Music Information Retrieval (MIR) is an interdisciplinary science on the process of retrieving information from music related resources. Due to the unique application characteristics and various forms of music, appropriate design and application of metadata plays an important role for the MIR in such a Content Management System (CMS) as it would affect the comprehensiveness and effectiveness of the music information retrieval process. In this paper, the authors propose their ontology-based metadata scheme to address such requirements of a music VLE, based on the Dublin Core with modifications according to specific nature of the music learning materials. The metadata design of music resources aims to support students' daily music learning by providing instant and appropriate learning materials which enables cross-collection searching and enhances the sustainability of the contents over time.

Abstract. In general, the learning process is implemented by using face-to-face model, meaning that participants and teachers are in one place and one time. With this model, usually communication between participants and teachers can be easily implemented. But there are some obstacles that may be faced, such as the lack of time to discuss and the limited space that can be used. To overcome these problems, a model is needed that provides a medium for meeting participants and teachers without limited space and time. The model is known as blended learning. The blended learning model allows participants and teachers to discuss, share material and practice questions on a virtual classroom. The research undertaken is to develop a blended learning model using an analysis of the blended learning implementation framework and the use of Content Management System (CMS) WordPress technology. With this model is expected to be an additional media used to support teaching and learning process. Keywords: blended learning; virtual class; wordpress.

This chapter explores a novel learning content management system. This chapter presents a novel system based on integration of voice authentication, face recognition technique, and signature of a person to recognize in e-learning system. Voice-based authentication, face recognition, and signature of a person is most widely used to authenticate human identity. The main concern in an e-learning system is to demotivate unknown users from taking the examination in place of the learner. Different techniques have been introduced to stop this fraud if any unknown person wants to imitate person's identity. In order to avoid the fraudulent handling of e-learning systems, the authentication based on voice recognition is discussed as one of the efficient techniques in literature.

Тhe pandemic, which created educational problems in Ukraine, led to the significant changes in the educational organization. All higher education institutions have mooved to distance learning. Thanks to the usage of distance learning systems, Moodle, which is its own website content management system, specifically designed to create quality online teaching courses, has a wide range of opportunities, and very actual. The purpose of our article is to show how the usage of the distance learning system Moodle during the study of the course «Higher and Applied Mathematics» affects the organization of independent students work, which is the basis of higher education. After all, only the knowledge that a person came to on their own way, become a really strong asset. Description of applied research methods: (i) Theoretical: analysis of pedagogical, psychological and special literature in order to justify the need to use the learning management system Moodle in the process of distance learning; generalization of domestic and foreign researches results on the specified problem. (ii) Empirical: pedagogical observations, conversations with teachers and students of higher education on the use of distance learning Moodle in the course «Higher and Applied Mathematics». The results of the research indicate that the advantages of the Moodle learning platform while studying the discipline «Higher and Applied Mathematics» allow not only to effectively organize independent work of students, but also to increase their motivation through the usage of new forms and methods of teaching. And this, in turn, allows not only to intensify the learning of students, but also lays a solid foundation for their further continuing self-education. As you can see, the integration of traditional and modern distance technologies in the organization of the educational process in higher education institutions allows to make more effective the quality of the entire educational process in a whole.

Technological innovations such as learning management system (LMS), content management system (CMS) and Internet use in higher education have changed the previous teaching and learning pedagogies. In Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA), such innovative pedagogies have opened a new era as such LMS and CMS are used to support blended learning. Though innovative pedagogy has opened significant queries among researchers on how well student acquires knowledge and skills, how student-centered learning and cognitive beliefs are merged and how the use of instructional technologies engages students in active learning and how collaborative learning via LMS has benefited student learning. Moreover, recent educational policies and blended learning novelties are refocusing on teaching and learning models, implementation, practices and more specific knowledge delivery and accessibility. The article surmises that the innovative pedagogies in higher education like mobile learning, e-learning and smart classrooms stimulate adoption, deployment and implementation of blended learning beyond expectations in SSA higher education. A paradigm shift has altered our world in practically every sphere and it can be attributed to the Covid-19 pandemic. Modern science and technologies have been called upon to redesign various processes in order to cope with this outbreak and the changes it has wrought. Even the world of education has been subject to severe disruption. To deal with the new situation, the students and teachers have been forced to change the way they customarily taught, learnt and interacted. The entire educational framework will have to be transformed from the traditional face-to-face or physical system to the virtual Moodle education system. The entire school system and higher education system in Sri Lanka are now called upon to confront these new challenges if they are to continue the learning and teaching processes. Fortunately, the higher education institutions have managed to find a quick remedy, by moving to online learning to overcome the difficult situation. Although many learning theories have been introduced to evaluate the learning processes in the physical classroom, the Gestalt learning theory is slightly different from the other theories. This is because the Gestalt theorists emphasize the need for whole perception, which can only be achieved by focusing on the entire learning process and making sense of things by thinking of them deeply. The process of thinking involved selecting, organizing, interpreting and creating meaning. This processing method is called ‘insight learning’. Hence, this study is an attempt to assess the feasibility of developing insight learning in virtual learning. The data was collected through Google forms, and the conclusion is based on the more than 700 responses received from undergraduate students in the Faculty of Arts and Culture, Eastern University, Sri Lanka. The SPSS software was used to record and analyze data using factor analysis and descriptive statistics. The study shows that there are many factors that prove to be obstacles in the way of developing insight learning via an online learning system. Therefore, the study recommends some strategies to overcome these obstacles and adopt the new online learning process in the future.   Received: 31 October 2021 / Accepted: 9 December 2021 / Published: 3 January 2022
