This research is motivated by the low level of mathematical reasoning ability students. This study aims to determine the comparison of mathematical reasoning abilities students between those who learn using the metacognitive skills approach through advance organizer and the scientific approach through discovery learning. The method is an experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design involving two groups and random sampling. At the beginning and end of learning, the two classes are given a test. The population in this study were State Vocational High School students in Cimahi, while the sample consisted of two randomly selected classes. Obtained class XI TEK A  which was given a metacognitive skill approach through advanced organizer and class XI TOI A  is given a scientific approach through discovery learning. The instrument used was a 5-item mathematical reasoning ability test description, then the data mathematical reasoning students were analyzed with descriptive and inferential statistics using the help of SPSS 21 software. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the improvement of students' mathematical reasoning using skills the metacognitive skills approach through advance organizer is better than students who use a scientific approach through discovery learning.

This study is designed in the form of experiment with the design of control group and posttest only aimed at investigating the role of learning that Argument Driven Inquiry (ADI) in improving senior high school students’ creative mathematical reasoning ability. The population of this study was senior high school students’ in Cimahi City and the samples were 69 senior high school students’ set purposively and randomly to be included into the experimental class and control class. Based on the results and discussion, it is concluded that: (1) creative mathematical reasoning ability of the students who received Argument Driven Inquiry (ADI) instruction is better than those who received direct instruction is reviewed based on the whole and the type of Adversity Quotient (Quitter / AQ Low, Champer / AQ Medium, and the Climber / AQ High); Learning factors and type of Adversity Quotient (AQ) affect the achievement of creative mathematical reasoning skills students. In addition, there is no interaction effect between learning and AQ together in developing the creative mathematical reasoning ability of students'; (3) creative mathematical reasoning ability of students’ has not been achieved optimally on the indicators novelty.

This study aims to examine the achievement of mathematical reasoning ability and self confidence of MTs students using guided inquiry method compared with using ordinary learning. The method used in this study is a quasi-experimental method, with a pretest and postes experimental-control group design. The population in this study is all MTs students in West Bandung regency, while the sample of the research is as much as two classes are selected to be experimental class and control class. The experimental class gained learning by guided inquiry method and the control class gained regular learning. The instrument used is a matter of reasoning ability test and non test self confidence matter. Data of research result are tested and analyzed quantitatively by using statistical test (t test). The conclusions obtained are as follows: 1) students' mathematical reasoning ability that obtains learning with guided inquiry method is better than students who gain ordinary learning; 2) the ability of self confidence students who gain learning with guided inquiry method is better than students who get regular learning.

The study aims to analyze the role of model-eliciting activities on students’ mathematical reasoning ability and self regulated learning. This study was conducted using a pretest-post test experiment control group design. The study involved 72 eighth grade students. Instruments used were mathematical reasoning ability test, and a mathematical self regulated learning questionnaire. The study found that students who got treatment on model-eliciting activities had better grades on mathematical reasoning ability and self regulated learning than that of students taught by conventional teaching, though the students’ mathematical reasoning ability grades were at medium level and the grades of self regulated learning were at fairly good level. Students expressed positive response on Mathematics Model-eliciting Activities, even though student still realized difficulties in solving mathematical reasoning task. So we conclude that students reasoning abilities and their self-regulated learning tend to increase through model-eliciting activities

The mathematical concept learned in school require mathematical reasoning abilities. But the test results show the students’ mathematical reasoning ability is still relatively low. To overcome this problem, applied a learning model called Auditory Intellectually Repetition (AIR). AIR can develop mathematical reasoning abilities students through problem solving. The purpose of this study is to describe the mathematical reasoning abilty of students through the AIR learning model is higher than taught through conventional learning models.. The research design used was quasi experiment with pretest-posttest control group design. The populations in this study were all of the Eighth Grade Students of SMPN 1 Jantho and the samples taken were classes VIII-2 and VIII-1 by using the random cluster technique sampling. The data collected wasby using the mathematical reasoning ability test. The result of research through the right-hand t-test statistic test obtained 3.79 > 1.68 then accept Ha reject Ho. Therefore, it was concluded that the students’ mathematical reasoning ability learned through the AIR learning model were higher than those taught conventional learning models. Abstrak Konsep matematika dipelajari di sekolah memerlukan kemampuan penalaran matematis. Namun hasil tes menunjukkan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa masih tergolong rendah. Salah satu alternatif membuat kemampuan penalaran matematis lebih baik melalui model pembelajaran Auditory Intelectually Repetition (AIR). Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa yang diajarkan dengan model AIR lebih baik daripada siswa yang diajarkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional. Rancangan penelitian menggunakan quasi eksperimen dengan desain pretest-posttest control grup design. Populasi dalam penelitian seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMPN 1 Kota Jantho dan sampelnya kelas VIII-2 dan VIII-1 dipilih dengan teknik cluster random sampling. Data yangdikumpulkan dengan menggunakan tes kemampuan penalaran matematis. Hasil penelitian melalui uji statistik uji-t pihak kanan diperoleh thitung > ttabel yaitu 3,79 > 1,68 maka Ha tolak Ho. Disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa yang diajarkan dengan model AIR lebih baik daripada yang diajarkan denganpembelajaran konvensional.   Kata Kunci: Model Pembelajaran,  Model Air, Kemampuan Penalaran Matematis

Scientific reasoning ability is important to have for students to understand the concept of physics and have a good mathematical reasoning ability. The scientific reasoning ability itself is the ability of a person to use his or her reasoning in resolving a problem by coming up with facts or tangible evidence, so that the conclusion can be drawn. The research was conducted with a view to analyzing the scientific reasoning ability of high school students in Banyuwangi city on temperature and heat material. The study used a research instrument in the form of a multiple-choice scientific reasoning ability test based on LCTSR. This type of research is descriptive research. The results of this research include the percentage of test result scientific reasoning ability of students in Banyuwangi city in the proportional reasoning is 60.51%, in variable control of 58.17%, at a probability reasoning of 49.87%, on The hypothetical-deductive reasoning is 47.4%, on the reasoning correlation of 20.53%, and the reasoning on conservation is 37.22%. The largest percentage is proportional reasoning, while the smallest is a correlation reasoning. Then it can be said that high school students in Banyuwangi City have the best scientific reasoning ability on the proportional reasoning pattern and the ability of scientific reasoning which is lacking in the pattern of reasoning the correlation.

This study examines students' mathematical reasoning based on Discovery learning models in terms of gender. This research was conducted at the SMPN 3 Kendari with quasi-experimental methods involving two classes with different treatments. The simple random technique is used to determine the class of research. Class VII. 6 (experimental class) consisted of 15 women and 11 men, while class VII.9 (control class) consisted of 15 men and 7 women. The instrument used was a student's mathematical reasoning ability test consisting of four items in the form of essays tested. Data processing using 2-way ANOVA with further tests using Scheffe. The conclusion obtained is that students are given a learning discovery model, the reasoning ability of male students excels in the ability to give mathematical problems verbally and in writing provided in the form of logical diagrams that contain existing data, perform mathematical manipulation related to the problem, and ensure validity as an argument, whereas women excel in the ability to draw conclusions based on relationships between mathematical concepts. The discovery learning model can increase students' mathematical penalties and overcome gender discussions.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of learning with abductive-deductive strategy towards the achievement of mathematical reasoning abilities of high school students. Research carried out an experimental pretest-posttest design and the control group was not randomized in class XI student at one high school in Pati, Central Java, Indonesia. Data analysis was conducted quantitative research based on early mathematical ability categories (KAM) and overall. The results showed that the achievement of mathematical reasoning abilities that students acquire learning abductive-deductive strategy better than students who received the expository learning. In more detail of KAM categories, only middle category that show achievement of mathematical reasoning abilities better. While in upper and under categories have the same reasoning abilities achievements. This research is expected teachers can encourage students to do abduction and deduction in the learning achievement of students’ mathematical reasoning abilities.

The research was conducted to find out the influence of Group Investigation (GI) of Cooperative Learning methods toward the student’s ability of mathematical reasoning. The research design was quasi-experimental the nonequivalent posttest-only control group design consisting of one experimental class (Group Investigation of Cooperative Learning) and one control class. The research population was all the second-semester students of VIII grade of MTs Negeri 1 Lampung Timur in the academic year of 2015/2016. The research instruments used were mathematical reasoning ability test. Data Analyze mathematical reasoning ability was used independent sample t-test. Mathematical reasoning ability is fundamental aspect in mathematic learning. Efforts to improve the ability of mathematical reasoning necessary. Based on that, this study was conducted to examine improvement of mathematical reasoning ability students who received problem based learning and guided discovery learning in terms of categories Early Mathematical Ability (EMA) students. This study was a quasi experimental research with the pretest-post-tes two treatment design. The population in this study were the students in class XI from one of SMK in Pekanbaru. Samples in this study were 76 students from two classes using purposive sampling technique. Instrument that used in this study was the questions of mathematical reasoning ability test. The findings of this study are: there is a difference in the improvement of mathematical reasoning ability among students who get problem based learning and students who gain guided discovery learning on medium KAM category students. In high and low KAM category students, there is no significant difference in the improvement of mathematical reasoning abilities between students who received problem based learning and students who received guided discovery learning.
