<p>There is a certain correlation between Chinese traditional culture and Chinese enterprises' performance of environmental responsibility, but there is little literature on the relationship between them from an empirical perspective. This paper combs and evaluates the relevant literature from three aspects: the evaluation of the economic and social effects of Chinese traditional culture, the influencing factors of corporate environmental responsibility, and the measurement of culture. Based on the literature review, this paper puts forward the following research enlightenment, that is, future empirical research should be carried out from the perspective of the intensity, effect, and heterogeneity of the impact of Chinese traditional culture on enterprises' fulfillment of environmental responsibility, as well as the moderating factors of the relationship between them.</p>

Current discussion about the Atlantic Pact has given a new emphasis and importance to an old controversy. Ever since the creation of the League of Nations men have disputed bitterly about the relationship of lesser groupings of states to an over-all organization. The view of President Wilson and many of his supporters was that the two were directly opposed to each other. It was argued that such limited security organizations were, in effect, alliances, that they would produce counter-alliances, a revival of the “balance of power,” and the destruction of an organization dedicated to the principle of world-wide “collective” security.

This paper examines the celebration of Todor’s Saturday (Todorova subbota) in Mali Krčimir (Zaplanje, southeastern Serbia). After reviewing previous studies of relevant rituals in the Balkan context and reconstruction of the ritual based on available studies and ethnographic material, the authors provide a picture of this ritual practice within the traditional culture of Zaplanje. At the current moment the celebration of St. Theodore’s Day is positioned at the crossroads of the traditional and the institutionalized type of ritual. The article analyzes transcripts of field conversations that illustrate emic polyphony. Their emic polylogue, which sometimes has a polemical character, centers on several themes: the interpretation of continuity and revival, the question of the right to tradition, nostalgic memories of the past and the relationship of past and present as a new problem. The article discusses ritual and customary practice related to the celebration of St. Theodore’s Day in the context of “negotiating authenticity” and the “new wave” of folklore, with attention to the specifics of Zaplanje. Finally, the article raises the question of the sustainability of St. Theodore’s Day practice, and the possibility and consequences of its eventual inclusion in the system of protecting the intangible cultural heritage.

In this article, based on interviews with informants from settlements of the Republic of Moldova with a compact residence of Old Believers (Lipovans), the features of the maternity and baptismal rituals in their environment are presented. The maternity and baptismal cycle contains a number of successive stages, including the customs and rituals that precede childbirth, the birth itself, as well as the subsequent stages associated with purification and socialization. The origins of the belief about the contradictory character of the female nature, inherent in ancient views of the world, originate in the concept of her duality, which is associated with the rites of passage. In order to prevent the influence of the otherworldly sphere, traditional culture prescribes a woman to observe the prohibitions associated with ritual impurity. Along with this, there are also regulations designed to protect the mother and child from manifestations of evil forces. The article describes the prohibitions and prescriptions for a pregnant and giving birth woman, the relationship of the latter with a midwife, the peculiarities of the choice of godparents among the Old Believers. The customs and ceremonies associated with the birth of a child are aimed at: 1) preserving the life and health of the woman in labor and of the baby, 2) eliminating the danger of the transition period. The author reveals the attitude of the respondents to popular beliefs.
