Gauss's law is one of the fundamental laws of physics, especially in the study of electricity. One of the important variable to use Gauss's law is the ability to determine the enclosed charge by the Gaussian surface. Commonly, the definition of the charge distribution of an object is defined by piecewise continuous function. In this paper, a charge distribution model that can accommodate all regions is proposed. The model is constructed based on analogies with the Fermi-Dirac's distribution function. The proposed model contains an exponential function that is related to the radius of an object and is equipped with a parameter to avoid the appearance of a not physical curve. The charge distribution can be used to calculate the enclosed charge by the Gaussian surface and to determine its electrical field. Some of the cases reviewed were spherical solid objects and spherical concentric objects. When compared to the conventional charge distribution, the modified distribution is more straightforward, and it can reduce the computational process algorithm. Therefore this can be used to construct concise and simple computer-based learning media.

This is a brief review of the history of usability and a discussion of usability in developing a computer-based learning program (CBLP). According to ISO 9241, usability is defined as the extent to which a product can be used by specified users to achieve specified goals with effectiveness, efficiency, and satisfaction in a specified context of use (Bevan, 2001). The main focus of usability in this article is concerned with the user interface and interaction design. To create a usable computer-based learning program, one needs to understand the definition of usability and the goals of usability. Besides achieving usability goals, a usable CBLP should also be able to attain user experience goals. Design principles can be used to develop a CBLP featured with usability. Two design models will be discussed in this review.

The aimed of this studied was developed learning through computer-assisted as BCBL. Result of this studied have been stated that: (a) the potential of five high schools in Karawang districts supported the implementation of BCBL development, (b) planning of BCBL development through a systematic development stages from preparation, production, simulation, experiment, and publication, (c) the implementation result of BCBL learning through revision tested were learner activity and higher autonomy. Keywords: BCBL; Independence Self-reliance; Student Competence.

Healthcare systems have evolved to become more patient-centric. Many efforts have been made to transform paper-based patient data to automated medical information by developing electronic healthcare records (EHRs). Several international EHRs standards have been enabling healthcare interoperability and communication among a wide variety of medical centres. It is a dual-model methodology which comprises a reference information model and an archetype model. The archetype is responsible for the definition of clinical concepts which has limitations in terms of supporting complex reasoning and knowledge discovery requirements. The objective of this article is to propose a semantic-mediation architecture to support semantic interoperability among healthcare organizations. It provides an intermediate semantic layer to exploit clinical information based on richer ontological representations to create a “model of meaning” for enabling semantic mediation. The proposed model also provides secure mechanisms to allow interoperable sharing of patient data between healthcare organizations.

This paper reviews the existing predictive models concerning insects and mites harmful to grapevine. A brief conceptual description is given on the definition of a model and about different types of models: deterministic vs. stochastics, continuous vs. discrete, analytical vs. computer-based, and descriptive vs. data-driven. The main biological aspects of grapevine pests covered by different types of models are phenology, population growth and dynamics, species distribution, and invasion risk. A particular emphasis is put on forecasting epidemics of plant disease agents transmitted by insects with sucking-piercing mouthparts. The most investigated species or groups are the glassy-winged sharpshooter Homalodisca vitripennis (Germar) and other vectors of Xylella fastidiosa subsp. fastidiosa, a bacterium agent of Pierce’s disease; the European grape berry moth, Lobesia botrana (Denis and Schiffermuller); and the leafhopper Scaphoideus titanus Ball, the main vector of phytoplasmas agents of Flavescence dorée. Finally, the present and future of decision-support systems (DSS) in viticulture is discussed.
