This chapter reviews the factors that are relevant to promote an entrepreneurial attitude, identifying education as an element of vital importance that influences the disposition to start a venture and its results. This is particularly important in the case of social entrepreneurship projects, in which good intentions frequently overcome sound business realities. To deepen the understanding of the relationship between education and social entrepreneurship, the authors develop the model “Pyramid of catalysts for entrepreneurship” which helps to understand the mechanism by which the educational process affects the quantity and quality of social entrepreneurship. This chapter also presents several elements of paramount importance in designing a program of social entrepreneurial education.

Purpose: This study aims to explore the effects of entrepreneurship education by examining the influences of the curriculum system, teaching team, design of practical programs, and the institutional systems on universities’ entrepreneurial education performance.Design/Methodology/Approach: This paper employs a case-based approach—Qualitative Comparative Analysis (QCA). Data were collected from 12 universities that were typical cases in the implementation of entrepreneurial education. The four dimensions of entrepreneurship education are applied as conditional indicators. fsQCA3.0 software is used to analyze the necessary conditions and condition combination of the truth table.Findings: There are three sets of condition combinations of the intermediate solution that results in a high level of entrepreneurial education performance: (1) when the credit ratio of entrepreneurship courses is higher and there are more practical platform platforms, even if the entrepreneurship education system and mechanism is less mature, the level of entrepreneurial education performance is high; (2) with a higher credit ratio of entrepreneurship courses, higher quality of teaching teams, and higher standard of practical platforms, the level of entrepreneurial education performance is high; (3) with a higher level of credit ratio of entrepreneurship courses and more practical platforms, as well as mature entrepreneurship education system and mechanism, even if the quality of the teaching team is lower, the level of entrepreneurial education performance is satisfied.Research Limitations/Implications: The dimensions of entrepreneurship education can be expanded; additionally, given that there are many other factors affecting entrepreneurial performance, it is necessary to identify and integrate other possible factors on an ongoing basis.Practical Implications: This study offers practical implications for universities and policy makers that can promote the transformation of theoretical knowledge into practice in the field of entrepreneurship in colleges and universities.Social Implications: This study is one of the first to empirically examine the effect of institutional-driven entrepreneurship education in developing countries. The enhancement of entrepreneurship education can benefit the development of individuals and schools, and even has a potential impact on the progress of the country and society as a whole.Originality/Value: This study emphasizes the significance of viewing the entrepreneurial education as a multi-dimensional concept by targeting different kinds of players. Furthermore, it employs a case-based approach to identify configurations of the antecedent attributes of the curriculum system, teaching team, design of practical programs, and the institutional systems, and their influence on universities’ entrepreneurial education performance.

This chapter presents an exploratory study about Roma communities, located in the municipalities of Torres Vedras and Figueira da Foz, to identify how entrepreneurial education has been taking place and how it can be improved by reflecting on which predictive skills of entrepreneurial success can be stimulated to this target audience in a non-formal educational context. From this point on, it aims to contribute not only to the development of a theory about entrepreneurial education, but also to awaken dormant or little stimulated potential, with the aim of triggering processes of human and socioeconomic development that reflect on the improvement of the quality of life of communities and society as a whole. In this sense, it aims to understand how entrepreneurial education, in a non-formal spectrum, can contribute to improving the quality of life of the Roma people.

Entrepreneurial education (EE), globally, has been a rapidly growing field of study. In Ontario, Canada, we have experienced both a growth and a maturation of undergraduate entrepreneurship education. This systematic review of undergraduate entrepreneurial education (EE) in Ontario will provide a mapping of this field of study. This review will be conducted through a two-stage process. Research indicates that the quality of entrepreneurial activity is important in the economic vitality of communities, regions and countries (Florida, 2002). In Canada and Ontario, government policy trends support providing entrepreneurial education, as well as supporting entrepreneurs, especially youth entrepreneurs. The result of this reviewing process reveals the breadth of entrepreneurial education, as well as the various tangents of related studies.

In Russia there is a problem of training professional entrepreneurs. Russian universities often train management specialists, that is, hired managerial staff and not entrepreneurs. The purpose of this study is to propose an integrated approach to training professional entrepreneurs in the higher education system of Russia. The study used questionnaire methods to identify the quality of entrepreneurial education at Russian universities, a competency-based approach to identify the main competencies of a professional entrepreneur, and comparative analysis in assessing the training system of entrepreneurs in other countries. As a result of the study, a conclusion was made about the chaotic development of entrepreneurial education in the system of higher education in Russia, a low assessment of this education by students; a system of indicators for assessing the competencies of a future entrepreneur was offered.
