Limestone mining activities are damaging soil and enviroment. Revegetation becomes an obligation on every mining sites. Paraserianthes falcataria is one of many species that suitable to be planted in revegetation site. Adding compost and NPK fertilizer can improve soil’s condition. This research objective is to analyze the effect of compost and NPK fertilizer on Paraserianthes falcataria seedlings growth and the exact appropriate dosage for limestone mining’s soil condition improvement. The design used in this research is completely randomized design with two factors. The result shows that addtion of compost on tailing media doesn’t give major effect or statistically not significant on seedling growth of height, diameter, the amount of root nodules, and shoot-root ratio, but statistically significant on wet and dry weight of the seedlings. NPK fertilizer addition on tailing media is statistically significant on the seedling growth of diameter, wet weight, and shoot-root ratio, but not significant different on height, dry weight, and the amount of root nodules. Interaction between compost and NPK fertilizer on media gives effect only at 95% of confidence level. K1N5 sample (with 100 gram composts and 5 gram of NPK fertilizer) gives the best respond on seedling’s growth. Very high levels of Ca in the soil medium will be toxic to the Paraserianthes Falcataria plant. Keywords: Compost, limestone mining, NPK fertilizer, Paraserianthes falcataria

The aim of the article is to study the interaction effect between NAA and BAP concentration on protocorm growth and to know the proper concentration for growth of Dendrobium  spectabile  orchid protocorm. This research method using an experimental method which is conducted in the Laboratory of Agriculture Faculty of Winaya Mukti University, Tanjungsari Subdistrict, Sumedang District. The experiment was conducted from June 2017 until September 2017. The experiment used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with the factorial pattern, consisting of two factors and repeated twice. the first factor was the effect of NAA concentration which consisted of five levels, namely without NAA, 0.5 mg kg-1, 1.0 mg kg-1, 1.5 mg kg-1, and 2.0 mg kg-1.  The second factor is the BAP concentration which consists of five levels, namel without BAP, 1.0 mg kg-1, 2.0 mg kg-1, 3.0 mg kg-1, and 4.0 mg kg-1. Eksplant is protocorm from orchid D. spectabile which is grown on MS medium (Murashig and Skoog) half recipe as base medium accompanied by each treatment for 12 weeks. The experimental results show that there is an interaction between the effect of NAA and BAP concentration on the number of leaves only. Without NAA or 1.5 mg kg-1 NAA concentration with BAP 2.0 mg kg-1 gives more leaves.  Independent of NAA or BAP concentrations did not affect the number of buds, number of roots, root length, fresh and dry weight of plantlets, and also growth ability of plantlets.  BAP concentration only affect plant height, and the highest plantlet height is found without add of BAP in medium culture

Seed Reserve Utilization and Seedling Growth of Treated Seeds of Mountain Rye (Secale Montanum) as Affected by Drought StressThe environmental stress such as, drought are serious obstacles for field crops in further areas of the world, especially in arid and semiarid regions. In order to investigate drought stress on seed reserve utilization and seedling growth of treated seeds of mountain rye (Secale montanum), an experiment was carried out. Factorial experiment was carried out in completely randomized design with three replications. The first factor was the seed treatments (unpriming, hydropriming and osmopriming) and the second factor was drought stress. To create drought stress, polyetylenglycol 6000 (PEG 6000) in osmotic levels at 0 (as control), -0.4, -0.8, - 1.2 and -1.6 MPa were used. The results indicated that for these traits: germination percentage (GP), timson index (TI), energy of germination (EG), weight of utilized (mobilized) seed (WMSR), seed reserve utilization efficiency (SRUE), seedling dry weight (SLDW), and seed reserve depletion percentage (SRDP), was a significant treatment x drought interaction. Thus hydropriming and osmopriming improvement study traits inSecale montanumunder drought stress. While in higher osmotic pressure the highest seed reserve utilization were obtained from osmopriming.
