The purpose of this study was to develop evaluation tools in the form of learning about science literacy based biology subjects for class X semester 1. The type of this research is research and development, with a preparatory study design, prototype, one to one, small group and field tests. Small scale pilot study subjects were 20 students of SMAN 1 Bukit Sundi, and wide-scale trials were 64 students of SMAN 1 Gunung Talang. Product-based research is a matter of scientific literacy that includes three indicators of votes with four component aspects that owned the aspect of the context, content, processes and attitudes. The results of scientific literacy progression based this matter indicates that the matter developed valid, reliable and high level of practicality. This is demonstrated by the average validity showed extremely valid criteria. The effectivity of instruments is indicated by the student's ability to answer questions on indicators 2 and 3 which is a matter that demands high reasoning. Practicality instruments indicated by the positive response by teachers and students.

Discipline in class is essential. Without it the educational processes and teachings are difficult. In this manner curricula goals are almost impossible to achieve. There are and there always will be some kind of conflicts between teachers and students, but they should not evolve to become a problem. Teachers (especially elderly teachers) often express pessimism of contemporary students. They say that today's students have less knowledge, they do misbehave more often than previous generations. A study among students was conducted. It was trying to determine the rate of discipline in schools in Celje to see if these statements are true. The questionnaire to students of one primary and one high school in Celje, Slovenia were distributed. The answers from 234 students were received. On the one hand, it was found out that senior high school students have the worst level of discipline of all the grades tested. They themselves assess their class atmosphere as less disciplined. They report that teachers use a lot of time to calm the class down. All this is probably a factor in lower average grade that the senior high school students have. On the other hand, it was found out that teachers do not react to the disturbance or they are trying to be repressive. These are not the correct ways of dealing with discipline issues. Therefore, there are some recommended ways how teachers should react. Keywords: discipline in class, primary school, contemporary student, elderly teachers.

Sustainable development is suggested by environmentalists as the solution for confronting the intense environmental, social and economic problems that emerge globally in the last decades. This study presents the recent features and trends of the associated concepts, like the green economy, green entrepreneurship, green professions and labour-market, with a particular reference to European Union countries. In the course of transforming the current economic model towards a green direction, vocational education appears as a fundamental prerequisite that will prepare the future workforce of green economy. In this respect, a small-scale research is also presented, recording the relevant opinions of senior high-school students in Western Attica (Greece), being an area of acute environmental, social and economic problems.

The 2013 curriculum mandates the importance of collaborative learning designed to educate students to be more productive, creative, and innovative with a high level of affective skills. Collaborative learning can be manifested in the form of a textbook. This research is aimed at developing an accounting textbook in accordance with the mandate of the 2013 curriculum. The selected model is IDI which consists of three main phases: defining, developing and evaluating. The methods chosen are interview, observation, and document review which are analyzed qualitatively. The research was conducted in 4 senior high schools in Malang. The finding shows that at defining phase, there is a need to develop an accounting textbooks using collaborative learning and corresponding to the new accounting standards, namely IFRS. Therefore, at the developmental phase, we construct a prototype book ready to be evaluated. The result of evaluation phase shows that the textbook is valid on the overall aspects including the content, the presentation, the graphic, and the language, with an average percentage of 93.7%.

This study determines the effects of the application of multimedia technology -Computer-Assisted language learning (CALL) in the development of five language skills using ‘English Discoveries’. It shows that the effects of multimedia materials for language learning are not necessarily better as a whole, but different from those obtained in traditional classroom work. Only two of the five variables showed significant differences in favor of the use of Multimedia: pronunciation and oral production. However, grammar showed opposite results. The teachers’ and students’ reactions suggest the need to adapt their roles to the new context in the future use of CALL and multimedia. The high level of acceptance of this type of materials by the students shows the need for more research and better adaptation of activities to the new context.

Research shows that Japanese students’ motivation for English study tends to decline as they move through their schooling and that secondary-level students’ schoolwork-related anxiety rises as they grow older. In this practice-oriented paper, I first discuss the learning background and needs of junior and senior high school students at my private language school. I then describe small-scale “creative projects” that I design and implement with the aim of fostering the students’ intrinsic motivation for English language learning and to improve their confidence in expressing and discussing original ideas in English. The description of a sample project illustrates the project goal, class profile, and project procedure. My reflective comments regarding the effectiveness of the project in achieving the above-mentioned goals are also provided. Finally, the limitations of creative projects and possibilities of further improvements are discussed. 数々のリサーチが日本の中高生の英語学習への意欲は学年が上がるほどに減退し、彼らの学習についての不安は成長とともに高まると示唆している。この実践報告レポートでは、まず筆者の主宰する民間英語教室での中高生の学習状況と彼らが有する独特のニーズを自己決定理論と内発的動機づけに関する理論の観点を通して紹介する。次に、彼らの英語学習への内発的動機を育み、英語で独自のアイディアを表現する自信を高めるために当校で開発、実施している小規模な創造的プロジェクトを解説する。プロジェクトの描写ではプロジェクトの目的、クラス構成と活動手順を示し、プロジェクトが目的を果たす上での効果についての指導者の振り返りコメントも提示する。また最後に、現在の創造的プロジェクトの限界と今後の改善の可能性を述べる。

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan literasi sains fisika siswa SMP Kelas VII di Sumatera Selatan menggunakan kerangka PISA. Metode penelitian adalah deskriptif kuantitatif untuk mendapatkan gambaran kemampuan literasi sains dalam IPA (fisika) siswa tanpa memberikan perlakuan kepada siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data berbentuk tes tertulis.  Penilaian disesuaikan dengan kriteria penilaian PISA. Variabel penelitian ini adalah pencapaian kemampuan literasi sains siswa pada konten fisik. Sampel diambil dengan menggunakan purposive sampling meliputi SMP N 1 kota Palembang, SMP N 1 kota Prabumulih, dan SMP N 1 kabupaten Ogan Ilir pada semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2017/2018. Hasil Penelitian diperoleh persentase pencapaian siswa yang paling tinggi pada level 2 sebesar 54,9 dan terendah pada level 5 yaitu hanya sebesar 28,1 dari skala maksimum 100. Secara keseluruhan rerata persentase hasil kemampuan literasi sains siswa SMP di Sumatera Selatan berdasarkan Kompetensi Proses Sains, yaitu 47,1. Hasil penelitian menunjukan kemampuan literasi sains siswa SMP di Sumatera Selatan secara keseluruhan ditinjau dari level soal dan kompetensi proses sains diperoleh hasil masih sangat rendah. This research aims to analyze the ability of Physics Science Literacy of Grade VII Middle School Students in South Sumatra by using the PISA Framework. The research method is a quantitative descriptive method that aims to get a picture of scientific literacy abilities in science (physics) students without giving treatment to students. The assessment is adjusted to the PISA assessment criteria. The variables of this study was the achievement of students' science literacy skills in physical content. Data collection techniques by written tests. Samples were taken using purposive sampling and the research sample are SMP N 1 kota Palembang, SMP N 1 kota Prabumulih, dan SMP N 1 Kabupaten Ogan Ilir The results of the study showed that the highest percentage of student’s achievement at level 2 was 54.9 and the lowest was at level 5, which was only 28.1 from the maximum 100 scale. While the overall percentage of the results of the scientific literacy skills of junior high school students in South Sumatra was based on Science Process Competence. that is 47.1. Based on the results of the research that has been carried out, it can be concluded that the scientific literacy skills of junior high school students in South Sumatra as a whole in terms of the level of questions and competency of science processes are still very low.

Scientific literacy is a key for improving science education in many countries in the world. This article aims to give a profile of the scientific literacy of senior high school students of class XII in the year 2019 in optic subject. This research was conducted with Survey methods. The data is done by providing scientific literacy problem in the form of essays. The subjects of research is the students of class XII at two SMAN Kerinci Regency. Results of this research is scientific literacy of students still low. So that Indonesia can afford prices in the era of the 21st century education, thope that this research can help in determining the solution for improve the ability of students ' scientific literacy.</p><strong>Abstrak:</strong> Tren pendidikan abad-21 adalah pembelajaran yang berpatokan pada Literasi Saintifik yang dijadikan sebagai kunci utama dalam meningkatkan pendidikan sains di banyak Negara di dunia. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk memberikan gambaran tentang kemampuan Literasi Saintifik siswa SMA kelas XII pada tahun 2019 terhadap materi Optik. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode survei. Teknik pengambilan data dilakukan dengan memberikan soal literasi saintifik yang berbentuk esai. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa-siswa kelas XII di dua SMAN yang ada di kabupaten Kerinci. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa literasi saintifik siswa masih rendah. Agar Indonesia mampu bersaing di era pendidikan abad-21, diharapkan penelitian ini dapat memberikan solusi dalam meningkatkan kemampuan literasi saintifik siswa.

Anti-intellectualism, the manifestation of disrespect and lack of interest of individuals for intellectual pursuits and critical thinking, has become a constant thread not only in the corporate world but also among students. Its long-term effect will be very excruciating, especially in the Philippine economy. This quantitative correlational research investigated the extent of relationship between the anti-intellectual attitudes and level of self-esteem or the individual’s overall sense of self-worth or personal value of one hundred and ninety-four (194) senior high school students from Fiat Lux Academe-Cavite, Philippines. The researchers made use of the Student’s Anti-Intellectualism Scale and State Self-Esteem Scale to measure the two variables. Analyzed data revealed an average level of attitude of anti-intellectualism and a moderate level of self-esteem among the participants. Furthermore, there is a significant, inverse, and moderate correlation between the two variables (Pearson= -0.50; Spearman Correlation = -0.44). Thus, students with high level of self-esteem have low anti-intellectual attitudes. Conversely, students exhibiting low level of anti-intellectual attitudes tend to have higher self-esteem. The researchers also utilized other statistical techniques such as the t Statistic and linear regression.
