An experimentally verified simulation of the elastic-dynamic behavior of a lever-type feed mechanism is presented. Based on a combination of experimental and analytical findings, simplified motion equations could be introduced. In the experimental set-up, the motion of the mechanism is monitored by three angular encoders, which are attached to the drive shaft, the rocker-link shaft, and the feed roller shaft, respectively. Their output, which is stored in a specially designed data acquisition system, allows the correlation of the instantaneous rotations of the feed roller and the rocker shafts to that of the drive shaft. Strain gages provide in and out-of-plane bending-strain histories of the bent coupler. Experiment and theory, for different loading conditions, are correlated by way of the coupler strain, the clutch windup angle and the total feed length. Good qualitative and quantitative agreement between computed and experimental results was found.

The efforts to discover the world’s oceans — even in extremely deep-sea environments — have grown more and more in the past years. In this context, unmanned underwater vehicles play a central role. Underwater systems that are not tethered need to provide an apparatus to ensure a safe return to the surface. Therefore, positive buoyancy is required and can be achieved by either losing weight or expanding volume. A conservative method is the dropping of ballast weight. However, nowadays this method is not appropriate due to the environmental impact. This paper presents a ballast system for an automated ascent of a deep-sea seabed station in up to 6000 m depth. The ballast system uses a DC motor driven modified hydraulic pump and a compressed air auxiliary system inside a pressure vessel. With regard to the environmental contamination in case of a leakage, only water is used as ballast fluid. The modification of an ordinary oil-hydraulic radial piston pump and the set-up of the ballast system is introduced. Results from sea trials in the Atlantic Ocean are presented to verify the functionality of the ballast system.

<p>In order to promote mass entrepreneurship and innovation, the General Office of the State Council issued the implementation opinions on deepening innovation and entrepreneurship education reform in institutions of higher learning. According to the guidelines for innovation and entrepreneurship proposed by the State Council, colleges and universities should combine the entrepreneurial needs of students and the innovative needs of the society, set up educational goals around the orientation of running a school, and carry out educational reform activities with innovation and entrepreneurship as the theme. Based on the overall social background of "Interne+" and distinct characteristics of the times, this paper analyzes the problems existing in innovation and entrepreneurship education in colleges and universities, and explores effective strategies for implementing innovation and entrepreneurship education in colleges and universities.</p>

This chapter aims to examine the digital skills that foreign language teachers must have in our global interconnected society and the ways in which they can acquire them. Pedagogical and digital innovation has been traveling along the same lines for some time. In recent years, however, in all fields of education—and more specifically in the didactic of foreign languages—several methods and techniques that increase the use of digital technology have been developed. Consequently, all teachers must keep up with the times. In this light, the objective of this chapter is to reflect on the pedagogical scenario that the digital age has set up, as well as on the ideal portrait that teachers must have. Injection moulding is one of the most important manufacturing processes for mass production of complex plastic parts. The quality of injection moulded parts depends not only on the material, shape, and function of the part design, but also on how the material is processed during moulding. Traditional design approaches based on intuition, prior experience, and trial-and-error methodology have been becoming less efficient and effective. With advances in numerical modelling and computer simulation techniques, there have been tremendous efforts made to develop computer simulation tools to facilitate injection moulding design and process set-up. This paper reviews the history of research and development in the filling simulation of injection moulding. The existing models are classified into three categories: one-dimensional models, 2.5D models, and three-dimensional models. The basic features and relative key techniques about these models have been discussed. The techniques of tacking the moving flow front have also been presented. It is then followed by conclusions and discussions of these mentioned models.

In discussion on reduction of energy and an environmental issue on a global scale, the research project had been organized in Japan. In the project, a committee “Development of model for the high accurate prediction of welding distortion by computer simulation” was set up for the purpose of reduction of energy spent for correction of welding distortion. A lot of items were investigated. The research was carried out to find the dominant factor for the high accurate prediction of welding distortion generated by fillet welding in the committee. As the results, two dominant factors were found and welding distortion generated by fillet welding could be predicted with high accuracy by satisfying two dominant factors.

Project the energy regenerative braking feedback lockup electromechanical integrated brake system for vehicles. Integrate EMB and friction brake system, and design the regenerative brake system, further choose the generator types respectively for the common gas engine car and electric car. Set up the system dynamic model. Based on the Matlab/Simulink, establish the simulation test system of the vehicles regenerative braking system. Using the simulation model for the Chery A3 car, we respectively simulate and analyse the braking and energy reusing performances of the low-brake strength and the high-brake strength regenerative braking models to the two brake systems. The study results indicate that the energy regenerative braking feedback lockup electromechanical integrated brake system for vehicles can satisfy the regenerative braking performance requirements of different vehicles according to the braking energy feedback quantity and the regenerative braking efficiency needed by the different vehicles, so the application is wider. The brake system does not only have higher regenerative braking efficiency, but also can guarantee the vehicles braking safety.
