Micro Enterprises form the majority of business establishments in Malaysia. They represent more than 90 percent of such establishments in the country. Interestingly, most studies have shown that entrepreneurial orientation (EO) is an important element of entrepreneurship for micro enterprises. Hence, in the era of robustness of technology and explosion of knowledge, the role of knowledge sharing and innovation should be incorporated in investigating the performance of micro enterprises. This paper aims to explore the business performance of selected micro enterprises in Malaysia. One hundred and six micro enterprises owners took part in the survey. Partial Least Square was used to analyze the data. The results show that while entrepreneurial orientation on its own has no direct impact on business performance, the practice of knowledge sharing and innovation practices does. Entrepreneurial orientation and knowledge sharing have shown a strong impact on innovation where innovation reflects the impact of all variables on business performance. The study has also shown that knowledge sharing and innovation are being practiced actively in micro enterprises, thus providing a good platform for future research.  Keywords: Entrepreneurial orientation, knowledge sharing, innovation, business performance, micro enterprises

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the impact of market orientation (MO) and entrepreneurial orientation (EO) on business performance among small retailers. In particular, the goal is to understand and determine to what extent MO and EO influence firm performance directly, and to what extent MO and EO are connected to performance. The developed conceptual model is tested using partial least square (PLS) using a sample of 30 small retailers. The result of the PLS model shows that both MO and EO act as a basis for improved business performance among small retailers. Based on the research findings, it can be argued that both MO and EO fully unlock their value-creating potential among small retail firms. This study has provided new insights regarding the impact of MO and EO on business performance in the context of small retail firms. In particular, the study has contributed to the literature by demonstrating the routes through which MO and EO impact on performance. Tujuan dari makalah ini adalah untuk menyelidiki dampak orientasi pasar (MO) dan orientasi kewirausahaan (EO) pada kinerja bisnis di antara pengecer kecil. Secara khusus, tujuannya adalah untuk memahami dan menentukan sejauh mana MO dan EO mempengaruhi kinerja perusahaan secara langsung, dan sejauh mana MO dan EO terhubung dengan kinerja. Model konseptual yang dikembangkan diuji menggunakan partial least square (PLS) menggunakan sampel 30 pengecer kecil. Hasil model PLS menunjukkan bahwa baik MO dan EO bertindak sebagai dasar untuk meningkatkan kinerja bisnis di antara pengecer kecil. Berdasarkan temuan penelitian, dapat dikatakan bahwa MO dan EO sepenuhnya membuka kunci potensi penciptaan nilai mereka di antara perusahaan ritel kecil. Studi ini telah memberikan wawasan baru mengenai dampak MO dan EO pada kinerja bisnis dalam konteks perusahaan ritel kecil. Secara khusus, penelitian ini telah berkontribusi pada literatur dengan menunjukkan rute melalui mana MO dan EO berdampak pada kinerja.

Since environmental issues are becoming an integral part of business performances, policymakers and managers have started recognizing the importance of green innovation towards sustainable business performances. The role of the automotive parts industry is crucial in minimizing environmental degradation and promoting sustainable development. Yet few studies have focused on the connection between green entrepreneurial orientation and green innovation that may affect small and medium enterprise (SME) business performance. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the influence of green entrepreneurial orientation on green innovations, and its effects on sustainable business performances in the automotive parts industry in Thailand. The sample consists of 226 SMEs in the automotive parts industry in Thailand. The partial least square method (PLS-SEM) has been used for the analysis of data. The results of the study show that green innovations have the strongest influence on economic and environmental performances. This study contributes to resource-based view theory by incorporating green innovation as a strategic competency of SMEs’ performance. Further, green entrepreneurial orientation and green innovation can assist SME managers in understanding the factors leading to sustainable performance of businesses.

This research examines the association of job attitudes (i.e. job involvement, job satisfaction, and commitment) with knowledge sharing behaviour of bank personnel through behavioural antecedents (i.e. motivation, attitude, and intentions to share knowledge). The hypothesised relationships among job attitudes (excluding job involvement), behaviour antecedents, and knowledge sharing behaviour are significant and consistent. Notably, the association of job satisfaction with the motivation to share knowledge is insignificant. The survey results are based on data from a stratified multistage cluster sample of 316 public and private sector bank professionals from Pakistan, analyzed using Partial Least Square (PLS)-Structure Equation Modelling (SEM). The research provides a framework for theoretical and practical implications in knowledge-intensive organisations to foster knowledge sharing that increases individual as well as organisational productivity. The study paves the way for future research by including knowledge-oriented leadership, culture, trust, knowledge governance, and citizenship behaviour in the current framework for analysis in diverse geographical and demographical contexts.

Micro enterprises formed the majority of business establishments in Malaysia and play an important role in the business ecosystem. There are numerous studies of intellectual capital on large organizations and small and medium enterprises, however no study has been carried out on micro enterprises. The findings of the partial-least square analysis of one hundred and six micro enterprises found that intellectual capital has a significant relationship to organizational performance. In addition, the relationship between intellectual capital and organizational performance was significantly influenced by tacit knowledge sharing. In particular, tacit knowledge sharing proves to be extremely relevant when it comes to reinforcing the intellectual capital on the performance of micro enterprises in Malaysia. Limitations and implications for future studies are discussed.

The MSMEs is a sector that has a very large role in increasing the economic growth of the Indonesta state. Garut Regency of West Java utilizing the wealth and potential they have by making MSMEs as employment. One factor that has a very umportant role in the development of MSMEs is precisely the Dodol Industry itself is marketing but there are still many who use traditional marketing. This study aims to analyze the influence of Entrepreneurial Marketing on business performance at dodol centers in Garut Regency.   This study aims to determine the effect of Opportunity Focus, Proactiveness, Customer Intensity, Innovation, Risk Taking, Resource Leveraging, and Value Creation on Business Performance. The population in this study were business actors in the dodol center of Garut Regency, which amounted to 156 business actors with a sample of 70 respondents. This study uses a non-probability sampling technique that is Purposive sampling. The data analysis technique in this study is descriptive with data analysis of Structural Equation Model-Partial Least Square by performing data processing using SMART-PLS 3.0. The results of this study are that Customer Intensity, Innovation, Risk Taking, Resource Leveraging, and Value Creation have a significant effect on Business Performance, while Opportunity Focus and Proactiveness have no significant effect on Business Performance. From the r-square results that the seven independent variables witch is Entrepreneurial Marketing simultaneously contribute influence of 60.1%, which has moderate value.

Purpose Academic institutions play a crucial role in social and economic development. They share responsibilities to equip students with knowledge and skills. This study aims to examine and investigate the impact of knowledge sharing enablers (KSE) on knowledge sharing behavior (KSB). The paper measured KSE through perceived instructor support of knowledge sharing instructor support (IS), perceived information and communication technology (ICT) support of knowledge sharing and perceived ability to share knowledge (ASK). Design/methodology/approach A survey questionnaire was used as an instrument for data collection. A sample of 597 students from Al Ain University in UAE participated in the study. The collected data were treated and analyzed through MS Excel and International Business Machines Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 25. The theory of reasoned action (TRA) was used in formulating a conceptual framework. Several statistical techniques, including partial least square structural equation modeling, were used to test and verify hypotheses. Findings Findings of the study supported TRA theory by suggesting a positive and significant impact of KSE (IS, ICT and ASK) on KSB. The findings supported the stated three hypotheses and confirmed that at least 45% of the variation in students’ KSB is explained by a variation in one of the three KSE indicators. The paper provided important theoretical and practical implications for researchers and managers of academic institutions. Originality/value Academic institutions need to advance their strategies to create more collaborative environments for boosting knowledge sharing among students. Such practice will contribute in improving the students’ overall capabilities, skills and success of academic institutions.

Aim/Purpose: This study investigates the relationship between knowledge sharing process and innovation success with specific emphasis on tacit knowledge. Based on the literature review, we hypothesised that knowledge donating and collecting have a positive relationship with innovation success. Methodology: The hypotheses were empirically tested using the partial least square path modelling with data collected from twelve state-owned public organisations operating in Southern Nigeria. Contribution: The research made distinct empirical contributions to the burgeoning literature on knowledge sharing and innovation from the public sector and developing country context. Findings: Knowledge donating and collecting contribute to innovation success positively and significantly. Knowledge donating effect on innovation success was found to be more significantly positive than the effect of knowledge collecting on innovation success. Recommendations for Practitioners: Public organisations should promote a supportive culture to spur innovation through the frequent share of experiences, information and skills among the various knowledge actors. Public managers should convey the importance of knowledge sharing and its value to knowledge users in clear terms and attend to creating conditions or contexts that encourage people to share knowledge freely and willingly with others. It is apt to improve organisational commitment and support for knowledge sharing activities such as mentorship programs, workshops, conferences, seminars and other related training and development programs in order to provide opportunities for employees to develop innovation competencies from the transfer of tacit knowledge developed over time from experience. To optimise innovation outcomes from knowledge sharing practices, knowledge sharing should be in tandem with the industry or global best practices. Future Research: Future studies should add interviews to provide depth in terms of insights and substance to the questionnaire, and may extend to public organisation with different ownership structure.

Findings – The result of the PLS model shows that both EO and IC act as a basis for improved business performance among small and medium enterprises. Based on the research findings, it can be argued that both EO and EO fully unlock their value-creating potential among small and medium enterprises. Originality/value – In addition to providing initial insight on the relationship between entrepreneurial action, innovative capacity, and performance with the creative industries, the paper also is one of the first on the creative industries to focus on firm-level strategy.Tujuan dari makalah ini adalah membahas hubungan antara orientasi kewirausahaan, kapasitas inovasi, dan kinerja perusahaan dalam konteks industri kreatif. Temuan - Hasil model PLS menunjukkan bahwa baik EO dan IC bertindak sebagai dasar untuk meningkatkan kesuksesan proyek di antara usaha kecil dan menengah. Berdasarkan temuan penelitian, dapat dikatakan bahwa EO dan IC sepenuhnya membuka kunci potensi penciptaan nilai mereka di antara perusahaan kecil dan menengah. Orisinalitas / nilai – Dalam studi ini selain memberikan wawasan awal antar tindakan kewirausahaan, kapasitas inovaif dan kinerja dalam indsutri kreatif. This study provides insight into how social relationships perspective influence on online Word-of-Mouth and knowledge sharing on social networking sites (SNSs). By using the sample from 385 Egyptian college students - who spend more time on SNSs, this study investigates the relationship among the use of SNSs, users' social Relationships, online Word-of-Mouth, and knowledge sharing. Partial Least Square (PLS) was utilized to examine the hypotheses through a questionnaire designed on the Likert seven-point scale. The results indicated that the intensity of usage of SNSs is a positively related with social relationship factors which has a positive effect on online WOM; in addition, online WOM has positively significant influence on knowledge sharing. The results also indicated that male students are found to have more social relationship than female counterparts do. Male students feel more strongly about knowledge sharing when they perceive that online WOM communication is good.

Institutional accounting functions are critical actors in the success of every organisation and emphasise distinct effectiveness compared to other practices. Meanwhile existing research has examined general knowledge management (KM) and its association with effectiveness at an overall institutional level. However, studies on the impact of KM capabilities on institutional accounting functional effectiveness (FE) is sparse. This study evaluates the impact of KM on institutional accounting FE based on resource-based theory (RBT) at various levels of analysis. Utilising empirical evidence, accounting knowledge management (AKM)-based effectiveness model was developed. Data were collected through a questionnaire survey of accounting officers in public research institutions in Malaysia. The study data were initially analysed using statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) version 23.0 and hypothesised relationship tested via partial least square structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM). Interestingly, the results provide support for the developed research AKM model underpinned by RBT viewpoint. AKM infrastructure (AKMI) and process capabilities impact institutional accounting FE significantly and AKM process capability partially mediates the influence of AKMI capability. The study offers new insight into the relationship between KM and institutional accounting practices. Thus, they create avenues for future research and directions for KM policy decisions in institutions.
