"How to make the archives live again for a contemporary audience? Based on the writings of a famous historian, Arlette Farge, and on my own experience in working with archives I am arguing in this article that the archive researcher should take inspiration from artistic creativity and artists should pay more attention to the scholar dimension of their research, while both need to understand they are accountable to the next generations for which they need to re-write the historical narrative in a responsible way, as close to the truth as possible. The aim of this research is to determine the differences in attitudes toward physical exercise of students of Academy of Dramatic Arts in Banja Luka and Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo, and their interests in certain sports and recreational activities. The study included a total of 59 students of Academy of Dramatic Arts in Banja Luka and Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo. Given the requirements in terms of physical ability and physical appearance that contemporary theater and film production has for future actors, we believe that physical exercise should be their daily needs. The results of research have confirmed our opinion and pointed to a satisfactory level of physical activity of drama students. There was no significant difference in the attitudes of students toward physical exercise in relation to gender and place of study. The research results are encouraging, showing the awareness of students on the importance of practicing physical exercise in terms of improving the quality of life, as well as work and artistic creativity.

Marmion (1808) is the second of Walter Scott’s grand historical narrative poems. Its sixteenth-century romance tale is framed within six conversation poems, each addressed to one of Scott’s friends, and supplemented by substantial ethnographical and antiquarian notes. Scott here features as a topical poet, commemorating both national events and occasions, as well as the work of his contemporaries. His relations with aristocratic patrons, artists, and statesmen are also amply reflected in the dedicatory epistles. It was with the overwhelming success of Marmion (four editions and over 11,000 copies were produced in 1808 alone) that Scott’s poetic reputation was indisputably established, his entry in the world of commercial publishing confirmed, and his commitment to a literary life fully determined. This is the first scholarly edition of Marmion. Based on new archival research it provides critically edited text that incorporates lines omitted from previous editions of the poem and extensive annotations. The critical apparatus in this volume includes a detailed essay on the development of the text, a Historical Note, Explanatory Notes and a full glossary of Scots, foreign and archaic words.

Abstract The contemporary human is in an eternal transformation, in an unending metamorphosis, he or she projects his/her life and his/her own image in countless fictitious games, plays roles in imagined situations. He/she, though using false conscious representations, will obtain the right results because he/she operates with his/her creations or fictions as if they were real realities. This is social creativity. If all these are real-life defence elements, fireworks that help the individual to anticipate certain situations, to figure the effects of certain volitional impulses, to communicate and to act freely within the scenic arts, the artistic creativity involves a paradoxical relationship between creative freedom and rigorous laws. Artistic creativity is part of the artist/actor’s ability to produce ideas, new and original solutions, appropriate to the given problems and circumstances, being a first step in the innovation process. Thus, both creative imagination and artistic creativity become original components in the creation process and implicitly in the contemporary performing arts.

In the wake of the 2008 global financial and economic crisis, new forms of work organization emerged in Europe. Following this trend, Portugal has undergone a reconfiguration of its artistic organizations. In the performing arts, some organiza-tions seem to have crystalized and others are reinventing their artistic mission. They follow a plurality of organizational patterns and resilient profiles framed by cyclical, structural and occupational changes. Artistic organizations have had to adopt new models of work and seek new opportunities to try out alternatives in order to deal, namely, with the constraints of the labour market. The article anal-yses some of the restructuring processes taking place in three Portuguese artistic organizations, focusing on their contexts, individual trajectories and collective missions for adapting to contemporary challenges of work in the arts. We conclude that organizations are a key domain for understanding the changes taking place.

<p><em>The article, basing on the analysis of selected media texts with reference to narrative from the leading Ukrainian newspapers «Dzerkalo Tyzhnia» (Weekly Mirror), «Den» (Day), «Ukraina Moloda» (Young Ukraine) for 2016–2020, the semantic and content characteristics of the «narrative», «strategic narrative», «small narratives» nominations has established; the directions of the semantic realization of the meaning of the narrative and its possibilities in the process of international strategic communications aimed at both external and internal audience, are outlined. It is proved that the main task of a strategic, or national, narrative is a reasoned explanation to the state population and interested audiences of specific realities, intentions, plans; justification of certain directions of state activity aimed at partners, at opponents and those occupying a neutral position.</em></p><p><em>There are divided the spheres of use of different narratological nominations: in international communications and in scientific discourse, the conceptual foundations of state identity and international interaction are referred to as strategic narrative or grand narrative, in publicistic discourse the narrative nomination is used, more rarely – historical narrative, national narrative.</em></p><p><em>The scientific novelty of the research is that the focus is on the media aspect of the use of one of the key concepts of strategic communications and the role of the media in its implementation.</em></p><p><em>The main general scientific methods used in this article are descriptive and comparative ones, as well as analysis and synthesis. The following empirical methods were also used: solid selection method (solid selection method for allocation texts with the «narrative» lexeme; quantitative method of content analysis with elements of qualitative one – for characterizing the semantic of the «narrative» term).</em></p><p><em>The results of the study can be used in the complex research of the technology of international strategic communications and in the practical activity of specialists in international strategic communications, a new trend in Ukraine, which is currently under active institutionalization.</em></p><strong><em>Key words:</em></strong><em> international strategic communications, propaganda, narrative, strategic narrative, grand narrative, «small narratives».</em>
