A large number of forests at Munggu Village, Ngabang District, Landak Regency have been converted into oil palm and rubber plantations. As consequences, natural habitats in the region have been fragmented and species diversity, including herpetofauna, has been decreased. This study aimed to assess herpetofauna diversity in four different habitats in Munggu Village: (1) forests, (2) Landak river, (3) tourist areas, and (4) rubber plantations. Data collection used Visual Encounter Survey (VES) for 8 days.[u1]  The results showed that the total of 24 herpetofauna species: 15 amphibians’ species (4 families) and 9 reptiles species (6 families) have been recorded from the four sampled areas. Of the four locations 11 species were found in river habitat in the forest, 4 species in the location of Landak river, 8 species in tourism sites and 9 species in rubber plantations. The Shannon-Wiener (H') diversity index in all four habitats was classified as moderate. In the river location in the forest, H' was 2.14, in the Landak river it was 1.28, in the tourism sites it was 1.71 and in the rubber plantation it was 1.87. However, the evenness index (E) for the herpetofauna community in all four locations was >0.80. Habitat loss and habitat destruction are among the causes of decline in amphibian and reptile populations. Knowing the diversity of herpetofauna, it is hoped that the community and stakeholders can collaborate to secure the herpetofauna in Munggu Village.

The diversity of bird species can reflect the high biodiversity of an area. it means that birds can be used as a bio-indicator of environmental quality. Determining the quality and level ofenvironmental damage can be seen from the diversity of bird species in the region. Environmental quality will be better if the diversity of bird species in the region is diverse.Birds have an important role in protecting the ecosystem in the Liwa Botanical Garden. The presence of birds in the Liwa Botanical Garden has not been well identified. Therefore thisresearch needs to be done. This research was conducted on 12 October 2019 to 20 October 2019 in the Liwa Botanical Garden, West Lampung. Data collection of bird species isconducted in the morning at 06.30.00-08.30 West Indonesia Time and afternoon at 16.30-18.00 West Indonesia Time, with a combination of the count point and the transect method then all encounters with birds are recorded and identified directly at the study site. After the birds are identified, data is processed to find out Shannon's level index and diversity index. The species diversity index uses the Shannon and Weiner formula. The level of diversity is determined based on the species diversity index. The results showed that there were 15 bird species with a total of 466 individuals with a moderate diversity  index and an evenness index indicating a distressed community.

Biodiversity of fishes in musi estuary, South Sumatra, Indonesia.  Jurnal Lahan Suboptimal : Journal of Suboptimal Lands 9(2): 192-198.The high activity in the Musi estuary will have an impact on fishes diversity. This research aimed to analyse the biodiversity of fishes in the Musi estuary in South Sumatra. An experimental fishing method was used for data collection by fishing ground following the local fishermen habit using gillnet millennium. The abundance of fish species found were 21 species and 16 families. The main catch was Hemibagrus nemurus with a high relative abundance (RA) of 35.4% but the high availability frequency of 100% is Eleutheronema tetradactylum. The average value of the moderate diversity index (H'= 1.47), the moderate evenness index (J'= 0.48) and the low dominance index (D= 0.32). This condition shows that the community structure of the species captured by the gill net is in a fairly stable condition with the number of species that are spread fairly evenly and no species dominate each other.
