From the findings, the results reveal that there is a direct connectivity between school education and practical implementation of the knowledge gained in classrooms. Moreover, the findings established that there is low contribution in education achieved in secondary-by-secondary school leavers which cannot cater for their economic income. The study recommends that the government should device friendly curriculum which is environment friendly. This will help secondary school leavers to translate their education into economic growth activities. Moreover, the secondary school leavers are advised to link what they gained in their course of schooling in order to avoid depending much on their guardians and parents.

Despite the involvement of community participation in various development projects over the years in Tanzania, little is known of its implications on sustainability of fee free basic education in rural public primary schools. A mixed method exploratory approach, informed by ecological systems theory, employed questionnaires, FGD and interview schedules to selected parents and School Management Committee members of public primary schools in Rorya District, Tanzania. The study focused on the value of public primary school education, advantages of Fee Free primary education, perceptions of parents and School Management Committee members on community participation and relationship between parent’s perception on the value of public primary education and participation in project-based support to education. The respondents exhibited heterogeneous negative perceptions with a positive correlation between parent’s perception on the value of public primary education and participation in project-based support to education (r =.510, p=000<0.01). The larger majority 64.3% of parent respondents with grade 7 education was deemed a factor that influenced negative perception. The researcher recommends that the Government authorities need to impart community economic productivity skills; the District Authorities further need to conduct community awareness on the importance of participation. Finally, the Ministry of Education in collaboration with the other stakeholders should mobilize funds and sensitize communities on the value of primary education and the importance of their participation in community development programs to support education.

CONTROVERSIES ON THE CURRICULUM OF GEOGRAPHY IN BRAZIL: the scientific communities of Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro in debate (1931-1935) ABSTRACT Assuming that the curriculum of school geography is the first arena of disputes around the constitution of an academic-scientific field of Geography in Brazil, this paper analyses the scenario of controversies between two of the main scientific communities of Geography, from São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, in the context of the 1930s, regarding the curriculum of School Geography conceived within the reforms of the Brazilian educational system that characterized the first years of the Vargas government. Methodologically, two documents are analyzed here: the first, from 1931, is the curricular text published by Francisco Campos Reform, conceived by the hands of the carioca scientific community of geography, especially under the figure of Delgado de Carvalho. The second document, from 1935, is the "Critics and Notes" section of the Boletim Paulista de Geografia, where Pierre Monbeig, Aroldo de Azevedo and Maria da Conceição Vicente de Carvalho present their curricular propositions for the teaching of Geography in Brazil. We suggest, from our comparative analyses based on these two materials, that there was a theoretical-methodological divergence between these two scientific communities of geography regarding the Brazilian secondary school education, especially in terms of the adequacy of school age to the different contents, scales of analysis and approach to geographical phenomena. Methods: Both qualitative and quantitative research approaches were opted to assess the aim of the study. An open-ended survey has been conducted among the teachers, who use robotics in their teaching practices. Chi-square test was applied to evaluate the significance of participant’s opinion and the association between their characteristics and responses to the survey items. Thematic analysis was further used to evaluate the results qualitatively. Results: Lack of knowledge was observed regarding robotics’ application in education. Utilizing robots in education has a positive impact on students’ education in Saudi schools. Lack of skills, knowledge, teaching strategies, incentives, adequate infrastructure and policies related to the use of robotics were evaluated as some barriers.
