Correlates of sexual satisfaction were identified in a sample of older married women. A 70-item questionnaire was mailed to an age-stratified sample of 5,000 married persons, including 1,000 married women over the age of 50. Usable questionnaires were received from 148 participants (14.8% return rate) Hierarchical multiple regression analysis, using sexual satisfaction as the dependent variable, yielded five predictor variables that accounted for a significant portion of the variation in sexual satisfaction (Cumulative R2 = .73). These results serve as a reminder that sexual interactions cannot be compartmentalized but must be considered within the context of the overall marriage relationship. Given the low return rate, interpretations should be limited until replication with an adequate sample has been completed.

We used multiple regression analysis to modify and shorten two scales for measuring practitioners' attitudes to psychotherapy and drug therapy. The resulting scales have been combined in a 21-item questionnaire (Treatment Attitudes in Psychiatry Scales (TAPS)) which is brief and easy to use, and should have wide application in psychiatry. The results of a concurrent validation of the scales, using two large groups of consultant psychiatrists who were members of either the Biological Psychiatry or Psychotherapy Section of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, show the extent to which their attitudes to psychotherapy or drug therapy tend to overlap. Polarisation of attitudes was more evident in the results from the Biological Psychiatry Section. A method is described by which scores obtained with the TAPS can readily be compared with those obtained by the criterion groups.

For many Christians spirituality and sexuality are kept in separate compartments of life, limiting both spiritual formation and adult sexual development. This study explored a concept of sacred sexuality, how it might fit into adult sexual development, how it might be expressed across path preferences, and its association with sexual satisfaction. A nonrandom convenience sample of adults was recruited to measure the relationship and strength between the prevalence of sacred qualities during sexual episodes and sexual satisfaction using a multiple regression analysis. It was determined that sacred qualities uniquely predicted a significant portion (12%) of sexual satisfaction after accounting for dyadic adjustment. This study can assist clinicians and spiritual directors in advancing the sexual welfare of their communities, leading to a sexuality that is truly salt and light in the world.

Tattooing has become more acceptable in the mainstream American culture in recent years. Based on a survey with face-to-face interviews of 335 nontattooed adults randomly selected from a city with a population of 444,000, this study explored the relationship of individuals' demographic variables, attitudes toward religion, and their perceptions of tattoos. The hierarchical multiple regression analysis showed that age and attitude toward religion were associated with individuals' perception of tattoos.

This study aimed to identify the effect of feedback on the credibility of the source towards constructive feedback and self-efficacy of teaching. Specifically, the objective of this study was to determine whether the credibility of the source of feedback be the moderator of the relationship between the constructive feedback and self-efficacy of teaching. In this study, a total of 411 lecturers from three premier polytechnics and two polytechnics which achieved excellent recognition through polyrate took part. Data for this study were collected through a questionnaire which was adapted from previous researchers’ questionnaire. Finding shows that higher academic qualification does have an effect on feedback credibility. Hypothesis testing is done by using multiple regression analysis and hierarchical multiple regression analysis. Findings have shown the constructive feedback and credibility of feedback have an influence on self-efficacy of teaching. In addition, the findings also indicate the credibility of the feedback was moderator of the relationship between the constructive feedback and self-efficacy of teaching. In terms of implications, middle leaders in educational organizations should enhance the skills, knowledge, and credibility in giving constructive feedback to shape and improve self-efficacy among his followers.

Multiple regression analysis is frequently and increasingly being employed in both experimental and non-experimental research. However, when data include predictor variables that are correlated, either unavoidably or due to conscious design choices, some regression results can become difficult to interpret. The paper presents an actual study to provide a heuristic demonstration that structure coefficients may be helpful in these cases.

This study examined the effects of active coping on job satisfaction in the context of the job demands-control-support model. Participants were 867 employees (811 men and 56 women, M age = 35.2 yr.) of a large electrical company in Japan. Hierarchical multiple regression analysis examined whether effects of active coping on job satisfaction might depend on the extent of coping resources, such as job control or social support (supervisor and coworker). Analysis showed that the effect of active coping on job satisfaction depended on the extent of coworkers' support, not on job control and supervisors' support.

ABSTRACTTwo forms of an imitation task designed to elicit eleven language behaviors were presented to 32 language impaired children (mean age 7;4, mean MLU 2.9). The tasks differed in terms of the presence or absence of contextual support. To determine how well the imitation tasks could predict spontaneous productions, a multiple regression analysis was performed using the children's spontaneous productions of each behavior as the criterion variable and responses to the same behaviors on each imitation task plus age, sex, MLU, and a measure of memory as predictor variables. The major finding was that predictions of spontaneous production varied among the eleven language behaviors. Additionally, the presence of contextual support had little effect.
