In spiritual formation or discipline, one area that many of Christ's mature disciples often overlook is fasting. Especially fasting over a long period of time. This book written by Lou Engle and Dean Briggs reminds us to focus more on the area.%MCEPASTEBIN% === Dalam formasi atau disiplin spiritual, salah satu area yang kerap terabaikan oleh banyak murid Kristus dewasa ini  adalah berpuasa. This work arises with the objective of facilitating an integral education to children during their early years, strengthening their personal and social development through a set of playful activities centered on the importance of celebrating the Eucharist. With this plan, we also aspire to seek points of union between the Eucharist and spiritual formation in the school, so that it serves to enliven the faith of the children around the values of Christian reference. The proposed didactic proposal, besides providing fun and new knowledge, will benefit the individualization and stimulate the social skills of the students. As these are simple sessions, which do not require a great involvement of the teachers, they can be very useful for them. The support in a parable from the Holy Scriptures will help us to communicate the teachings of Jesus to our students and to adapt the values to our daily life.

The Wojtyła family is a special family which, in God's plan, is an example of heroic faith, hope and love. The Pope's parents were his role model and the perfect foundation for his journey to holiness. Prayer and the sacraments were a means of union with God. They fulfilled God's will by living in the spirit of the Gospel and total devotion to Mary - Totus Tuus. Following the life and pontificate of John Paul II, the above article shows and illustrates the influence of parents on Karol, the future pope. Therefore, it is a great inspiration for families, educators, and caregivers who are nowadays looking for original, charismatic authorities that will inspire and lead them to the right path. In 2020, when the 100th anniversary of St. John Paul II’s birth was celebrated, on May 7, the Episcopate consented to the commencement of the beatification process of Karol and Emilia Wojtyła by the Archdiocese of Krakow. Thus, the Holy See was asked to start the process at the diocesan level. The initiation of the beatification process of Pope Wojtyła's elder brother Edmund remains an open issue. He died in 1932, taking care of his sick patients at the hospital in Bielsko. Edmund received the title of Doctor of Medicine at the Jagiellonian University on March 29, 1930. The beatification committee was established in 1997. Karol Wojtyła's family did not differ from the average Catholic family of that time. What distinguishes this family today is Love and Faithfulness to God and people. Devotion, service and humility. Holiness is a gift that the baptized receive with the first sacrament. As such, this gift should be nurtured and developed in the Catholic Church community through sacramental life and a life of prayer. The Wojtyła family is an example of fulfilling God's will in everyday life. It abided with God and continues to do so.

Abstract: This research is based on the thought of a saint, St. Benedict, contained in a rule made in the context of monastery, the Rule of St. Benedict. This rule has shaped the spiritual life of God's people for dozens of centuries. The strong emphasis on the balance of ora et labora, prayer and work, made this pattern relevant till date. This rule is also used as an approach to the forming of the patterns of spiritual formation in seminaries. Theological education is closely related to the growth of God's people. Thus, seminary as one model of theological education needs to have a good pattern related to the spiritual formation of everyone in it. The condition of seminaries in the present era with a tendency to show more attention to academic formation than to spiritual formation can cause imbalance in the life of seminarians. The Rule of St. Benedict can be a reference model so that seminaries can carry out a balanced theological education process to ensure that the academic quality exists as a part of the wholistic spiritual life. Keywords: ora et labora, seminary, spiritual formation, the Rule of St. Benedict. Kata-kata kunci: ora et labora, seminari, formasi spiritual, The Rule of St. Benedict.

Abstract This paper shows that the protagonists of Byzantine Passions are often depicted as attaining holiness while on the move: after their arrest by pagan soldiers, Christian martyrs are subjected to travels for legal reasons. Drawing on the anthropological concept of liminality (Arnold van Gennep, Victor Turner), I will suggest that such inflicted travels or transfers in Byzantine Passions serve as liminal phases between interrogation, torture, imprisonment, and execution, by which the protagonists ascend to the state of holiness. The paper, structured in three major sections, focuses on scenes of ‘imprisoned martyrs on the move’ as delineated in both pre-Metaphrastic and Metaphrastic martyrdom accounts (fourth-tenth centuries). After a concise introduction to the theoretical background and the text corpus of this study, the main sections explicate the motif of imposed movement in conjunction with the literary construction of holiness, the spiritual formation of the audience, and the structure of a martyrdom narrative.

In the recent literature on formation in online theological education, a number of thematic strands can be delineated: the apologetic, didactic, pedagogical, empirical, and geographical strands. However, apart from the early apologetic stage of the discussion theological reflection plays a minor role in the literature. In this article, I argue that theology plays a limited and superficial role in contemporary writings about formation in online theological education. Yet, spiritual formation in online theological education needs theological grounding. Given the accelerated shift to forms of online education across the world, such theological grounding is an urgent task. In this renewed theological engagement, three areas especially call for sustained attention: (1) the multi-faceted nature of spiritual formation; (2) the question of agency in spiritual formation and the consequences for the theological curriculum; and (3) engagement with theological traditions that offer ample material to guide our contemporary thinking about spiritual formation.
