Introduction : Organic mental disorders are diseases we need to put more attentionon because they are related to systemic disorders or disorders of the brain and cancause high mortality. Organic mental disorders often manifest in the form ofpsychiatric symptoms so that they can be treated too late because the physician isnot able to recognize the symptoms which can be fatal. Sequelae can be found inorganic mental disorders and may affect the patient’s quality of life, so a fast andproper management is needed to get a better outcome. Case presentation: A caseof organic hallucinosis in viral encephalitis had been reported in a 18 year-old malewith a history of sudden changes in behaviour. The symptoms appeared after thepatient had problems during OSPEK and was threatened by someone. The patientwas the only child in the family and often spoiled by his parents. Laboratory andimaging studies showed that there was a cerebritis in the CT scan result, a decreasein CD4 count, and an increase in anti-Rubella IgG titers in which the patient wasfinally diagnosed with viral encephalitis. Conclusion: The diagnosis of organicmental disorders can easily be overlooked in daily clinical practice so that patientsdo not receive proper management

An important objective of prosthetic rehabilitation is to conserve any residual tissue. Patients undergoing resection of maxilla due to accidental casualties or benign or malignant tumor will have inadequacy in maxillary palatal area. Removable prostheses gets support, stability and retention mainly through anatomical structures such as teeth, alveolar bones and palate. When surgical intervention removes much of these structures, remaining tissue becomes too vulnerable to support the necessary prosthesis. Therefore, important considerations to be undertaken to attain extra support, retention and resistance while planning for obturator of maxillary defects. In this case report we have advocated the application of an obturator that closes the defected cavity and also restores the masticatory functions. This obturator is retained by the stainless steel 19 gauge wire encircling the teeth in neighbouring quadrant, undercuts surrounding the defect. The prosthetic obturator was inserted in a 58-year old partially edentulous patient with an extensive maxillary defect. Subjective and objective evaluations indicated that the functional efcacy of obturator dened the quality of life of the patient. The concept of a obturator is a useful solution for the particular situation created by maxillectomy.

Abstract Background Amelogenesis imperfecta is a hereditary malformation showing various manifestations regarding enamel dysplasia. This case report shows a 9-year follow-up after restorative treatment of a 16-year old female patient affected by a hypoplastic type of amelogenesis imperfecta. The caries-free, hypersensitive teeth of the patient were restored by direct dentin adhesive composite restorations performed in total etch technique. Case presentation After rehabilitation the patient reported a marked improvement of the mastication ability and quality of life especially during food intake. Accumulation of plaque was reduced and the ability to perform adequate oral hygiene was improved. During follow-up of 9 years recurring secondary caries and debonding of fillings were recognized and retreated. Conclusions The retrospective assessment exhibits that the performed restorative treatment prolonged the time until further treatment has to be considered, such as prosthetic treatment.

MAINTAINING ORAL HEALTH IN A PATIENT AFTER HEAD AND NECK RADIOTHERAPY: A CASE REPORT ABSTRACT The antineoplastic therapy brings immediate and late oral changes, and these alterations can interfere directly in the quality of life and health of patients submitted to these treatments. The goal of this paper was the oral rehabilitation of a patient after treatment of head and neck radiotherapy, by means of endodontic procedures, restorers and prosthetics, through a clinical case report. The male patient, 59 years old, leucoderma, diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma (CSS) in oropharyngeal epithelial with involvement of the border of the tongue, gingival mucosa, tonsillar pillar and retromolar region. The patient was submitted to surgical resection of the tumor followed by a cycle of chemotherapy, the treatment continued with radiotherapy. At the initial clinical examination it was observed many consequences of these treatments that needed odontological intervention. The main challenge found in this study was to establish a care protocol. At the end of this study it was possible to evaluate that the patient obtained satisfactory results regarding the procedures adopted by the team. The goal of the odontological treatment is to eliminate or to establish the oral conditions to minimize the local and systematic infection, during and after the cancer treatment, and consequently, to improve the patient’s quality of life.

Introduction: Amputation can disturb the quality of life, and it can be worsened when the amputated stump suffers from any dermatoses. It is mandatory for an amputee and the doctor to know about the common dermatoses that an amputated limb can suffer from. The prosthesis should be properly fitting, and hygiene has to be maintained. Case Presentation: A 49-year-old male presented with a warty lesion over the amputated limb. Histopathological examination revealed verrucous hyperplasia, and further examination showed improperly fitted prosthesis. A well-fitted prosthesis with proper padding cured his lesion. Conclusions: The case report highlights how a properly fitted prosthesis corrects the lymphatic flow and thereby reduces complications. It is also important to maintain stump hygiene, as the humid, relatively anaerobic environment inside the prosthesis can trigger the growth of various organisms.

Abstract Background In the field of craniofacial tumor surgery, an adequately performed excision, despite being a life-saving procedure, is only a first step to successful treatment. During such a procedure, the main goal is to completely remove the lesion, paying less attention to factors contributing to future rehabilitation possibilities. One ty 2of the possibilities for prosthetic rehabilitation of such cases is utilizing one-piece implants with bicortical anchorage. Case presentation This case report presents a case of a 48-year-old patient with oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). The treatment protocol consisted of radical surgery to remove the tumor, and intraoral and extraoral rehabilitation with a single framework prosthesis anchored with one-piece implants. Moreover, the intraoral stomatognathic deformity was corrected with a fixed implant-retained prosthesis, and the extraoral defect was covered with a removable epithesis. Conclusions The use of one-piece implants with bicortical anchorage may be an additional tool in reconstructing maxillofacial defects. Properly executed treatment may improve the esthetics, speech, masticatory function, muscle support, and the overall quality of life of patients with extensive defects in the maxillofacial region.
