Abstract In March 2020 a state of emergency was declared in the Czech Republic in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which that resulted in the closures of schools. The provision of education continued through mandatory remote home-based education. The aim of this study is to use in-depth interviews to show how Czech families with children at the primary levels of education have coped with this situation. Based on a qualitative analysis, it is possible to state that the families who participated in the research were coping well with the situation and had come up with effective arrangements both for providing education and for fulfilling other responsibilities. The research also revealed that many families consider this to be very demanding time. At the same time, we identified that the way how families tackled the situation of home-based education depended on several factors. The key role was played by the school factor, namely the quality of remote education offered by school and the communication between the school and the parents. The analysis showed that although the quality of communication and remote education offered by school improved between spring 2020 and autumn 2020, schools still have much room to improve the education provided.

Nowadays, it is not easy to achieve prosperity and flourishing progress of an agriculture company. The owners and managers engaged in agricultural sector are thus forced to face increased challenge as for the search of new and more stable sources of income. Employing the strategy of diversification represents one of the possible ways aiming to improve the current situation. Moreover, this strategy also provides important tool for enhancing the quality of rural infrastructure and creation of job opportunities in non-traditional sectors and thus makes for the decrease in jobs in the agricultural sector. The study of secondary sources and in-depth interviews with successful diversification project managers allowed the analysis of prospective usage of the diversification strategy in agricultural companies.

The chapter presents the problem of quality of life modeling in the Czech Republic based on classification methods. It concerns a comparison of methodological approaches; in the first case the approach of the Institute of Sociology of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic was used, the second case is concerning a project of the civic association Team Initiative for Local Sustainable Development. On the basis of real data sets from the institute and team initiative the authors synthesized and analyzed quality of life classification models. They used decision tree classification algorithms for generating transparent decision rules and compare the classification results of decision tree. The classifier models on the basis of C5.0, CHAID, C&RT and C5.0 boosting algorithms were proposed and analyzed. The designed classification model was created in Clementine.

Genetic diversity was detected in 11 varieties of triticale registered in the Czech Republic by means of polymorphism of prolamin proteins using the PAGE ISTA method. The polymorphism of prolamin proteins allowed the differentiation of the individual triticale varieties in 2002 and 2003 harvests. On the basis of Dice’s calculations of coefficients of similarity we discovered, in parallel with the uniform genotypes, genotypes with sister prolamin spectrums with a different percentage of participation in the respective years. A uniform spectrum was detected in the following varieties: Disco, Kolor, Lamberto, Marko, Presto, Sekundo, Ticino and Tricolor; Kitaro and Modus were dimorphous varieties. In 2003 three sister prolamin lines appeared in the variety Gabo and in 2004 only two. In 2003 a 5% admixture of a foreign genotype was detected in the variety Marko. Typical of the unknown genotype was the gliadin block Gld 1B3, which is the marker of rye translocation T1BL.1RS, gene Sr31 with resistance to black rust, higher cold resistance and lower baking quality of the wheat. The prolamin proteins of triticale grain are suitable for the detection of the genetic diversity and for the assessment of varietal authenticity and purity in seed samples of triticale varieties registered in the Czech Republic.

The quality of an opt imal solut ion of the Vehicle Rout ing Problem is st rongly depended on the sett ing of the configurat ion parameters of the algorithm. The paper is focused on the int roduct ion of hyperparameter search for solving the Vehicle Rout ing Problem using a HyperLoom plat form for defining and execut ing scient ific pipelines in a dist ributed environment . To give a concrete example, we focused on Periodic Vehicle Rout ing Problem for the waste collect ion. HyperLoom plat form was used to define and execute the hyperparameters sweep pipeline. The heurist ic algorithm was tested on a real benchmark of the waste collect ion in Ostrava, Czech Republic. The aim of our ca se was to effect ively combine the minimizat ion of the total t ravelled distance and the opt imizat ion of the fairness of the routes in terms of the standard deviat ion of a tour length. The waste collect ion problem was very extensive and computat ionally demanding, so it was necessary to use high performance comput ing architecture for test ing a large number of different sett ings of configurat ion parameters. The experiments were run on the supercomputer Salomon operated by IT4Innovations Nat ional Supercomput ing Center in the Czech Republic.

Background: Internalized stigma negatively affects lives and prognosis of individuals with psychosis. Aim: This study aimed to identify correlates of internalized stigma among individuals with psychosis in a sample of community care users in the Czech Republic. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among 133 community service users with psychosis. A shortened version of the Internalized Stigma of Mental Illness (ISMI-10) scale was used alongside the 5-level EQ-5D version (EQ-5D-5L), assessing health-related quality of life. Descriptive and linear regression analyses were performed in order to determine levels of internalized stigma and its correlates. Results: High levels of internalized stigma were reported in 25% of participants. Lower internalized stigma levels were associated with better self-reported health status and being married, and higher internalized stigma with a longer period of time since initial contact with psychiatric care. Conclusion: Lower internalized stigma levels are associated with better self-reported health-related quality of life. In addition, clients having used psychiatric care for longer periods of time reported significantly higher internalized stigma levels. Therefore, authors suggest self-stigma reduction interventions based in a community setting with an emphasis on targeting clients with chronic psychosis.
