AbstractCOVID-19 has created an un-precedent crisis for SMEs and challenged each single enterprise to reconsider its business operations and to adapt to the new unexpected circumstances. The present paper aims to explore the resilience measures that the micro and small enterprises in Romania can consider to dealing with the disruptions caused by the pandemic. A questionnaire-based survey was used to collect data from a sample of micro and small enterprises operating in the central part of the country. An exploratory factor analysis was employed to identify underlying variables that explain the pattern of correlations between the resilience measures for enterprises, which help them cope with the pandemic effects. There are seventeen resilience measures to the pandemic included in the analysis and further tested in the paper. In addition, a multiple linear regression was conducted to determine which of the resilience measures has the most impact on the enterprises’ overcoming illness. The results show that in order for the micro and small enterprises to better cope with the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic they should demonstrate, on the first place, openness to production innovation and adaptation and ensure a strong support for customers and communities. On the second place, efforts should be directed toward ensuring efficiency of their internal operational management and worker protection. While there exist external circumstances that lead enterprises to adopt several resilience measures to better respond to the pandemic, the motivations that are most relevant in this decision are generally internal in nature.

Purpose This paper aims to identify and measure the impact of the types of innovation on micro and small enterprises’ performance in the foodservice industry. Design/methodology/approach A sample of 55 micro and small enterprises located in the Recife Metropolitan Area in Pernambuco were considered for the purpose of the analysis. All the firms were registered in the Agente Local de Inovação (ALI) program during the period of 2015 and 2016. The innovations developed by the firms were identified and measured using the sectorial innovation index, and the firm’s performance was calculated by the annual revenue. The impact of the innovations on performance was measured using multiple linear regression and quantile regression. Findings The regressions’ findings suggest that two innovation dimensions stand out concerning firm performance, that is, brand and customer experience are thought as to contribute to firm performance significantly. However, it has also been found that the contribution of the innovations may vary in the level of firm performance. Originality/value The paper was distinguished by analyzing the relationship between innovation and firm performance in the context of micro and small enterprises. The research also allowed knowing the innovations that can contribute to the micro and small enterprises’ performance, allowing such organizations to identify and develop the innovations seen as necessary for their competitiveness.

The objective of the chapter is to examine the factors that are essential for the green purchase behavior among the young consumers in India. The study consists of 343 young respondents, who were surveyed with the help of structured measurement instrument. The sample has been analyzed with the help of exploratory factor analysis and linear regression analysis. It was found in the study that the awareness towards the green product, attitude towards eco-labeling, and satisfaction via green products are significantly and positively linked to the green purchase behavior, whereas the attitude towards green pricing and ecologically concerned consumers are not associated with the green purchase behavior.

The study aims to identify factors influencing the brand value of Can Tho University. Research data were collected from 340 students studying at Can Tho University. By applying the exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and multivariate linear regression, the study has indicated factors putting positive impacts on Can Tho University's brand value. They are the university's reputation, training quality, graduate prospects, and alumni. In which, the training quality has the strongest influence on the brand value of the university.

ABSTRACT Objective: the article aims to identify the relevant resources for the composition of managerial and transactional capabilities in the context of micro and small enterprises (MSEs). Method: through a literature review, the resources associated with the innovation were identified: leadership, people management, information and knowledge, relationships with clients, suppliers, and society, and results. The resources were collected and measured using a structured questionnaire made available by the Local Agent for Innovation program, applied to 447 MSEs in the state of Pernambuco, between 2015 and 2017. Confirmatory factor analysis was used to verify how these resources contribute to the composition of capabilities. Results: the results demonstrate that the managerial capability is composed of the relationship with society and suppliers, leadership, the sharing of information and knowledge, and people management. Transactional capability is made up of the relationship with customers and the results obtained by the firm. Conclusions: although MSEs have restrictions on access to technologies, their organizational resources seem to contribute to the development of innovation capability and to obtain competitive advantage.
