Abstract Factors that influence motivation are split into external and internal. Key peculiarities of adult who learns are found out. A person who studies can trace connection between educational needs and solution of everyday life problems. Basic terms of learning efficiency are: self-orientation and independence. The main principles of adult education are systematized. They are the following: necessity to know, consciousness, willingness to learn, focus on learning, intrinsic motivation, self-orientation, relying on experience, situational, practice-orientation, motivation. The concept “educational technology” is analysed. Educational technology is systematic targeted approach to learning that combines specific teaching methods, educational technology, and takes into account psychological part of the learning process – relationship between learners and those who teach; systemic ways of activities of those who teach and those who study for the effective achievement of learning goals. Principles of educational technology usage are outlined. They are: individualization, creativity, self-motivation, cooperation, activity. The gist of interactive technology is found out. Interactive learning technology is based on the interaction between participiants of training; organization of joint activities based on dialogic teaching methods; a way of organizing learning of adults considering the needs, interests, personal and professional experience. Basic forms and methods of adult’s interactive teaching in the USA are: conversation, discussion, collective solving of creative situations, the method of “round table”, project method, playing techniques, mentorship, coaching – training in small groups, storytelling, method of narrative.

Adolescent depressive symptoms are risk factors for lower education and unemployment in early adulthood. This study examines how the course of symptoms from ages 16–25 influences early adult education and employment in Canada and the USA. Using data from the National Longitudinal Survey of Children and Youth (n = 2348) and the National Longitudinal Survey of Youth 79 Child/Young Adult (n = 3961), four trajectories (low-stable; increasing; decreasing; and increasing then decreasing, i.e., mid-peak) were linked to five outcomes (working with a post-secondary degree; a high school degree; no degree; in school; and NEET, i.e., not in employment, education, or training). In both countries, increasing, decreasing, and mid-peak trajectories were associated with higher odds of working with low educational credentials, and/or NEET relative to low-stable trajectories. In Canada, however, all trajectories had a higher predicted probability of either being in school or working with a post-secondary degree than the other outcomes; in the USA, all trajectory groups were most likely to be working with a high school degree. Higher depressive symptom levels at various points between adolescent and adulthood are associated with working with low education and NEET in Canada and the USA, but Canadians are more likely to have better education and employment outcomes.

Purpose This empirical research was conducted in a medium-sized private university located in the north-eastern region of the USA. The purpose of this paper was to understand whether demographic attributes (age, gender, country of origin and years of stay in the USA) of international students will predict any preferences for specific teaching methods. This study was conducted with international students from October 2012 through May 2013 (fall and spring semesters). Design/methodology/approach This research paper provides hypotheses to explore whether there is any relationship between demographic factors and preferences for various teaching methods. This study analyzes the results using both Pearson’s correlations and one-way ANOVA to reject or accept the hypotheses. Findings The results demonstrated that there were no significant correlations between the demographic variables of international students and teaching methods. However, the one-way ANOVA analyses suggested that there are differences among age groups and their preferences for group projects, years of studying in the USA and their preferences for classroom discussions, and gender and their preferences for textbook assignments. Practical implications This study suggests that scholars provide orientation or training on the host country’s pedagogies so that international students can assimilate better into their academic communities. Originality/value This pioneering paper examines the role between demographic variables of international students and teaching pedagogies. This specific concept has not been examined in this literature before. This understanding could contribute to a richer understanding of this population of students.

Inquiry has been the framework for guiding reform-based science instruction. All too often, the role of technology is treated tacitly without contributions to this framework. This case study examines a collection of pre-service teachers enrolling in two educational technology courses and the role these experiences play in promoting inquiry teaching. Interviews, field notes, surveys, reflective digital narratives and student-generated exhibits served as the data informing the analysis of inquiry experiences which shaped the enacted lessons of science teachers. This research is devoted to the study of the methodology of personalized adult education in the value context of the historical and cultural epoch of Russia and the world as a whole, presented in the scientific and pedagogical discourse reflecting the pluralistic specifics of post-industrial society. The purpose of this study is to determine the specifics of personalized training and additional professional programs "Linguistics and Intercultural Interaction" in the formal education system being limited with temporal and economic framework designed to prepare graduates to meet the new professional activities of an educator. The problem field of this research is related to the theoretical and practical justification of the use of the methodology of language and cultural pluralism, as well as the pluralism of goals, objectives and content of adult education, focused on innovation and leadership development, on creative approaches to thinking, especially in school, where resources are limited, and subject to constant changes. The objectives of the research are threefold: a) to develop the principles of program development, b) the corpus of personalized humanitarian practices for organizing the event learning spaces of creative interaction of the participants, and c) to facilitate the stages of implementation of updated programs, and methodological content of training, as well as organizational difficulties associated with the formation of new professional competencies of the graduates of the programs in a new socio-cultural transforming space. In conclusion, the main results of the study at different stages of implementation of personalized learning technology are formulated, and the prospects for using them in the format of remote learning and elearning are outlined for self-organized professional development.

Higher education as a subject of study of this article in the summer provides for the process of teaching pedagogical disciplines. When conducting seminars in a higher educational institution, the cognitive activity and creativity of students of individual methods of developing physical activity for the purpose of research. Recognition of students and creative activity of children. conversation “brainstorming”, “game activities” “round table” competition of practical works and methods of their discussion is used. It recognizes students on the basis of methods, determining the conditions for the development of culture and creativity. Specific recommendations are given. Student creativity the fact that active learning has a great influence on improvement, also identified. Results in higher educational institution to improve the process of teaching pedagogical disciplines contributes to. This article is recommended for university professors for use in seminars.

Interactive teaching methods provide solutions to educational problems in various aspects. The use of interactive methods allows you to organize independent cognitive activity of students during the lesson. Possession of interactive learning technology and its use in the educational process will undoubtedly contribute to the development of students' qualities that correspond to the processes taking place in life today. This paper presents the technologies of conducting Uzbek language lessons using interactive methods and their significance.
