Abstract In this work, no denying the role, or even more so, the value of rational thinking, it is assumed that it is not the only effective tool for man to achieve his valuable goals. It is conjectured here that sometimes irrational thinking is an equally good (and sometimes even better than rational thinking) means of achieving them. In the light of these assumptions, the goal of my work is to indicate the benefits that may be the result of irrational thinking in the colloquial (i.e. unscientific) domain of everyday human practice. The given examples of irrational thinking come from research in the field of cognitive and social psychology and behavioural economics. Their results prove that irrational behaviours (including thinking) are neither accidental nor senseless, and on the contrary systematic and easy to predict, they constitute important arguments for considering the phenomenon of irrational thinking. I also discuss this issue although only to a limited extent.

It is the belief or the conviction that present reality (what I see) does not exhaust the potentialities of the given data. Hope opens the present to the future; it enables a man to look ahead, to break the fixity of what he observes, and to perceive the world as open-textured. The categories of possibility and of transcendence interweave a closely stitched fabric - hope says that tomorrow can be better than today.

Solving Problems is the ultimate task of architectural creation. From the point of problem types being Solved, it can boil down to three kinds which are condition problems, contradiction problems and value problems. Architectural creation thinking is systemic thinking which unifies the rational thinking and irrational thinking together. Rational thinking is the dominant thinking mode that solve many kinds of problems of architectural creation, and there are some keys to solve the architectural creation’s value problems base on rational thinking, Such as to develop the function, technology and form of intrinsical creation objects through exhuming the potential properties and expanding possibilities of creation interrelated elements . The basic goal of architectural creation that solving the value problems base on rational thinking is exalting the value of creation objects. It can improve the systematicness, efficiency and stabilization effectively to architectural creation.

While Archaeology started to take form as a professional discipline, Alternative Archaeologies grew in several ways. As the years went by, the image of Archaeology started being corrupted by misconceptions and a lot of imagination, and those professionals that were claiming to be scientists forgot one of their first responsibilities; the public. This lack of interest is one of the reasons why today, a vast majority of society believes in many clichés of the past that alternative archaeologists have used to build a fictitious History that is not innocent at all. From UFOs and the mysteries of great civilizations to the political interpretation of the past, the dangers of Alternative Archaeologies are clear and under our responsibility. This paper analyzes this situation in order to propose a strategy that may make us the main characters of the popular imagery in the mid-term. Since confrontation and communication do not seem to be effective approaches, we need a change in the paradigm based on Public Archaeology and the increase of our presence in everyday life.

The situation caused by the appearance of Covid-19 can be viewed as a critical event: typologically, it is an unprecedented event, which requires and shapes new forms of historical action hitherto unknown in the given context. Critical events serve as strong value and emotional landmarks in the cultural cognition of each social environment, and form the basis for a meaningful determination towards other events. Using material collected primarily from the online versions of electronic and printed media, we consider how the reality they presented is shaped through the news through the statements of politicians and medical doctors in Serbia. We trace how the narrative transformation of socio-cultural reality took place from the time before the of Covid-19 outbreak in our country to the time immediately after the lifting of the state of emergency declared due to that infection. The premise of all that is being done to tackle the infection is not a purpose in itself, but aims to enable a return to the life we were accustomed to before the outbreak of the epidemic. Covid-19 destabilizes our everyday life – a life that consists of work or study, use of free time, socializing etc. Such everyday life is a reference point of "normalcy". Socio-cultural normalcy refers to all that is understood as a normal and undisturbed course of everyday life. The appearance of Covid-19 gave rise to the notion of the "new normal", that is, a course of everyday life that is similar to normal, ordinary life, but with adherence to measures aimed at preventing the spread of infection by the authorities. In the paper we deal with the period that begins just before the outbreak of Covid-19 in our country, and ends with the period after the lifting of the state of emergency, to show the discursively produced picture of social reality in which the concept of the "new normal" serves as a cultural cognitive tool for understanding a situation in which one has to live with Covid-19 in order to one day be able to return to the way of life that existed before it.

In this paper, a new vibration reduction approach by means of symmetric piezoelectric network is proposed, combining energy harvesting and vibration reduction. The system could be constructed by several individual structures with identical mechanical parameters, such as blades of rotor machinery. Two basic forms of network-connection are studied, in which dissipation of both mechanical and electric field is considered. Dynamic models are established by the Lumped Parameter approach and Kirchhoff’s Circuit Theorem, and the normalizing process is used to make the models more general. Subsequently, the modal information and harmonic response of piezoelectric networks with an arbitrary number of components are obtained. Based on the dynamic characteristics of piezoelectric networks, the mechanism of vibration-suppression behavior of such systems is studied. Design guidelines of these vibration reduction systems are established via parameter studies. Eventually, the optimized parameters of each network-connection form are obtained analytically. It is shown that the symmetric piezoelectric network can suppress the response of the given frequency to zero, and also perform better than pure passive piezoelectric shunts in resonant frequency band.

An autonomous robot is now an internationally discussed topic to ease the life of humans. Localization and movement are two rudimentary necessities of the autonomous robots before accomplishing any job. So, many researchers have proposed methods of localization using external tools like network connectivity, global positioning system (GPS), etc. However, if these tools are lost, either the movement will be paused, or the robot will be derailed from the actual mission. In these circumstances, the authors propose an approach to localize an autonomous robot in a specific area using the given set of images without external help. The image database has been prepared and kept in the internal memory of robot so that image matching can be done quickly. The localization method has been accomplished using three algorithms: (1) SURF, (2) ICP-BP, and (3) EMD. In the evaluation, SURF has been found better than ICP-BP and EMD in terms of accuracy and elapsed time. The authors believe that the proposed method will add value to other methods using some external tools even when those tools are unavailable.

The aims of this paper are to use a birandom variable to denote the stock return selected by some recurring technical patterns and to study the effect of exit strategy on optimal portfolio selection with birandom returns. Firstly, we propose a new method to estimate the stock return and use birandom distribution to denote the final stock return which can reflect the features of technical patterns and investors' heterogeneity simultaneously; secondly, we build a birandom safety-first model and design a hybrid intelligent algorithm to help investors make decisions; finally, we innovatively study the effect of exit strategy on the given birandom safety-first model. The results indicate that (1) the exit strategy affects the proportion of portfolio, (2) the performance of taking the exit strategy is better than when the exit strategy is not taken, if the stop-loss point and the stop-profit point are appropriately set, and (3) the investor using the exit strategy become conservative.
