The weed seed bank in the ploughing layer (0-25) cm deep) of loess soils, located at top, slope and slope foot, is presented in the papaer. Soil samples, taken just affer the harvest of winter and spring cereals, in the Nal9cz6w surroundings (east-middle Poland) were the investigative material. It was proved that the most of weed seeds and fruits were the winter cereals bocated at the slopes and slopes foot. The diaspors of short-lived weeds were dominant III-V degree of stability in the soil covered all sculpture elements.

Loess soils were created by the wind transporting particles with later or in parallel occurred protogenetic, syngenetic and epigenetic processes. As a result, various genetic processes affected loesses strength and deformability characteristics. The aim of the study is to estimate the main CPT parameters of loess subsoil in Lublin area according to divided facies. The subsoil in the area of the Nałęczowski Plateau, where Lublin is located, consists mainly of loess from aeolian and aeolian–diluvial facies, and in the deeper parts—from aeolian–alluvial facies. Most of the results obtained for the aeolian facies at the level of qc in the range from 4.5 to 8.0 MPa indicate that these soils are a good load-bearing substrate for building structures. Cone resistances mostly at the level of 1.5–4.0 MPa for the diluvial and alluvial facies confirm that these facies constitute less favorable foundation conditions. The reduced resistance results mainly from the increased water content in ground pores. It is especially the soils of the diluvial facies that provide unfavorable foundation conditions, as they occur near the surface. Genetic processes are a very important element that should be taken into account in engineering research.

Consumer interest in local and organic produce, sustainability along the production chain and food products contributing to health, are laying the foundation for local and organic-based diets using nutrient-dense food. Here, we evaluated 25 locally adapted landrace and ancient spring cereal genotypes per location over four locations and three years, for mineral content, nutritional yield and nutrient density. The results showed a large variation in minerals content and composition in the genotypes, but also over cultivation locations, cultivation years and for genotype groups. Highest minerals content was found in oats, while highest content of Zn and Fe was found in ancient wheats. The wheat Diamant brun, the wheat landrace Öland and naked barley showed high mineral values and high content of Zn and Fe when grown in Alnarp. Nutritional yield, of the cereals evaluated here, was high related to values reported internationally but lower than those found in a comparable winter wheat material. The nutrient density was generally high; less than 350 g was needed if any of the evaluated genotype groups were to be used in the daily diet to reach the recommended value of Zn and Fe, while if the suggested Novel Nordic Diet mix was used, only 250 g were needed. A transfer from currently consumed cereals to those in the present study, along the New Nordic Diet path, showed their potential to contribute as sustainable and nutrient-rich sources in the human diet.

Objects of research were: spring wheat Saratovskaya 70-st, Cardinal, 3 Curenta, Madam, Nil avocet yr7's, Angarida; spring barley Ratnik-st, Medium 135, grace, Vakula, Brassa; spring oats Showjumping-st, Leo, Bulan, Kuranin. As a result of the study of these varieties of spring crops, the most adapted to local soil and climatic conditions samples were identified. The selected samples were distinguished by high biological plasticity, growth and development rates, maximum use of moisture, as well as the ability to form high grain yields.
