There are two main purposes navigated in this study; first of all, it was carried out to investigate the teacher-student relationship; secondly, it was also conducted to find out whether there was a correlation between teacher-student relationship and English teaching-learning process. A number of 14 teachers and 43 students participated in this study; they are from two publish junior high schools in Aceh, Indonesia. Questionnaires for the students and interviews with the teachers were used to discover the influence of the relationship between English teachers and students, and the problems that students faced during their interactions with the teachers. There were twenty-two items in the questionnaire and five questions in the interviews that the participants needed to answer. The collected data from the questionnaire were then analysed by using a Likert scale and the Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient, meanwhile, the data from the interviews were analysed by following the stages of Miles and Huberman‘s(1994) model. In the first junior high school, a significant correlation appeared between the teacher-student relationship and teaching-learning process, with the raw score of 0.745 that refers to a high correlation. The tcount was higher than the ttable (4.784≥2.100). However, at second junior high school, had no significant correlation detected between the two variables with the raw score of 0,401 that referred to moderate correlation, where tcount was lower than ttable (2.004≤2.097). This research is expected to have a beneficial impact on the English teaching-learning process especially in the areas of the two schools, where this study took place, as well as the teachers and educators from other institutions spread in Aceh and Indonesia in general.

Introduction: Teacher-student relationship is very important element in education to enhance the effectiveness of teaching and learning process. There are multiple factors affecting this relation. If we analyze these factors and take measures to improve these, there will be better relation; and teaching learning will be improved. Materials & Methods: This descriptive type of cross-sectional study was carried out in obstetrics and gynaecology department of selected medical colleges of Bangladesh. Five government & three non-government medical colleges were selected purposively situated both in Dhaka and outside during the period of July 2017 to June 2018. Total 170 students and 30 teachers were responded through self-administered semi-structured questionnaire with five points Likert scale. 20 teachers were responded through in-depth interview schedule. Quantitative data analyzed by SPSS version 19. Qualitative data analyzed manually. Results: Study revealed that multiple factors were related to the relation among medical teachers and students. Mutual respect, empathy, Good listening skill, mutual respect, sharing expectation, self-disclosure, awareness about own role are the most important influencing factors in this relation (mean score >4). Use of drugs/tobacco, speech difficulty, love affair of students, negatively affect communication. Study also revealed barriers of relation fear and shyness, language barrier and discrimination of students by the teachers. Friendly relationship, open minded behavior, student- teachers cooperation, open discussion, morality and religious practice, motivation of by teachers, understanding each other’s, avoidance of student’s politics, responsibility of students & teachers, teachers training with reduced workload have great impact on removing these barriers. Conclusion: Addressing these issues at all possible levels, proper measures should be taken to improve relation among teachers and students; so that teaching learning process can be enhanced and ultimate goal of medical education can be achieved. This study was aimed at identifying the communication between teacher and students in Bahasa Indonesia teaching and learning process at the Indonesian Institute Junior High School, Surabaya. The research method used was a qualitative descriptive method with a pragmatic equivalent analysis model. Data collection in this study used direct observation method. The instrument used in this study was the researcher himself. The entire research process was carried out closed, and was not directly involved in the learning process. The data were collected using recorders and notebooks. The collected data were then categorized based on the main data. The data was then comprehensively reviewed or analyzed. The data analysis technique used was pragmatic equivalent technique with a speech partner determination tool in teacher-student communication. The results show that the teacher-student communication process is strongly influenced by the cultural background (ethnicity) of students and teachers in Junior High School and different types of cultureKomunikasi Antara Guru-Siswa Pada Pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia Kelas VIII.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi tuturan guru dan siswa pada pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia pada pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di SMP Institut Indonesia Surabaya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan model analisis padan pragmatis. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode observasi langsung, simak, rekam, dan catat. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah peneliti sendiri. Seluruh proses penelitian dilakukan secara tersembunyi, serta tidak terlibat langsung dalam proses pembelajaran. Alat yang membantu pengumpulan data menggunakan alat perekam dan buku tulis untuk mencatat yang ditemukan dikelas. Data yang telah terkumpul kemudian dikategorikan berdasarkan korpus data.  Data tersebut kemudian dikaji atau dianalisis secara komprehensif. Teknik penganalisisan data yang digunakan adalah teknik padan pragmatis dengan alat penentu mitra wicara pada komunikasi guru-siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses komunikasi guru-siswa sangat dipengaruhi latar belakang budaya (etnis) siswa maupun guru di SMP II dan tipe kebudayaan yang berbeda-beda.

This study aims to describe the students’ interests and perceptions in learning simple past tense by using the TGT (Team Game Tournament) technique. The situation in the teaching-learning process at an Islamic Junior High School in Pontianak has shown that there are still many problems that must be addressed, concerning English grammar. The researcher has encountered several problems such as student’s reluctance to participate, lack of interest, motivation, and attention in the classroom. The researcher employed Classroom Action Research as a means to solve the problems. The findings presented information regarding the use of TGT that could serve as a beneficial alternative in teaching grammar, particularly the simple past tense. Furthermore, the information will provide the teacher with useful insights on ways to teach and to motivate their students in the classroom.

This study deals with developing the writing paragraph through quickwriting for junior high school at smp swasta pahlawan nasional. The objectives of this study were to find out to improve the students’ ability in writing paragraph of grade VIII students by using quickwriting strategy. Data data of the research was taken from the secondary grade of Junior High School Students at SMP Swasta Pahlawan Nasional Medan, which is taken from one class, contain 33 student. The data in this research collected by using interview and questionnaire. The interview and questionnaire will be given to collect the students’ need, problem and interesting in learning English, particularly in writing and using quick writing in teaching and learning.  In the teaching-learning process the teacher should prepare before conducting the lesson. The first is classroom procedures in teaching-learning process. Classroom procedures used by English teacher are opening, quickwriting, main activities (exploration-elaboration-confirmation), closing. There are some problems faced in the teaching-learning process. The problems faced are problem in developing idea, organizing idea, difficulties in vocabulary, tenses, and grammar, different capability of the students, and limited time. The consequently, the teacher should give solutions to cope the problems faced in teaching-learning process. So, the teacher should be creative to minimize the problem faced in teaching-learning process in order to make the students enjoy with the materials and develop student’s ability. Keywords : writing paragraph, quickwriting

The objectives of this research are to know the level of feedback applied by the EFL teacher at a junior high school in speaking class and to know the most frequent level of feedback employed by the EFL teacher. Moreover, this research conducts a qualitative research where the data of this research are the English teacher’s utterances when the teacher taught speaking for VII grade students at one of state junior high school at Sentani, Papua. Meanwhile, the data was gathered through observing and transcribing the video of English teaching and learning process. The analysis of the transcript revealed that: (1) there arethree levels of feedbacks employed by the teacher: feedback of task (6.25%), feedback of process (37.5%), and feedback of self as a person (56.25%) and (2) the most frequent level of feedback employed by the teacher is the feedback of self as a person since it gathered 56.25% during the teaching and learning activity. Based on the result of this study, it can be concluded that teacher’s feedback is an important tool to facilitate the learning process become more active. Therefore, It is suggested the teacher may use more collaboration of feedback toward students’ response or performance in the learning process.

This study is carried out to describe classroom technique used in the teaching of English at State of Junior High School of Sawit 1 Boyolali. The kinds of this research is describtive qualitative research especially naturalistic study in analyzing the data. The method of collecting data in this research are observation, interview and document. The finding of the study shows that there are some classroom techniques implemented by English teachers at SMP Negeri 1 State of Junior High School of Sawit 1 Boyolali, drilling, grouping, individual task, listening to music, picture describing, presentation, question and answer, questioning, reading aloud, repetition, role play, and translation.The teachers have roles as facilitator, teacher as motivator, teacheras observer, teacher as manager, teacher as model, teacher as counselor, teacher as controller, and teacher as evaluator. The students have roles as members of group, as tutor of other learners, as negotiator, as subject, and as monitor and evaluator of their own learning progress. There are some materials used by English teachers, such as: textbook, workbook, dictionary, photocopy exercises, powerpoint on LCD, audio like song, and videos from youtube. The conclusion of this research is that English teachers at State of Junior High School of Sawit 1 Boyolali used various classroom techniques which can improve the students’ ability. Various techniques can make the students interested in English teaching-learning process. It does not make the class monotonous. The students become more active and creative. Based on the results, apparently, classroom techniques used by the teachers have important role in the teaching-learning process.

The application of Curriculum 2013 influenced teaching learning process in schools. Some hours of technology and English subjects in junior high school are decreased. The materials from English book that provided by the government especially for reading are too simple. It needs supplement materials to support the students’ ability in English. The researcher does 4 steps to product the supplement materials, they are: Need Analysis, Identifying the Syllabus, Developing the Material, Expert’ Reviews and Product Try-out. The supplement product aboard with the following criteria: (1) the content is relevant with Curriculum 2013 and students’ level; (2) the procedure in operating is easier for the students; (3) the exercises and feedbacks are clear and relevant with the content; (4) The design is attractive and interesting; (5) the materials should be practical for the students. The materials are found acceptable and appropriate for students at seven grade level as supplement materials.
