This essay discusses how the imagination of women in India is framed up by the gender-biased mythical representations. By looking at the mythical representations that are circulated through centuries in many popular mages, paintings and calendar-portraits, a discursive pattern can be found that has positioned women in a secondary level, belonging to men. The family itself becomes a political site in the process of normalizing women’s submissiveness to men by comparing their actions with the Goddesses. By interrogating the gendered position of Goddess like Lakshmi and her male counterpart Lord Vishnu, this essay attempts to problematize with the mode of representation in religious visual images. I conclude by arguing that these religious representations in visual images have negative impact on the Hindu women, especially, in rural areas and thus keep the unhealthy gender role intact in Indian society.

The province of Quebec is seen as a center of “creativity” for video games and this concept is regularly used and valued. But the complexity of the socio-cultural phenomena leads us to question the meaning of this concept. What is creativity, who or what is creative? This paper uses a constructivist version the Four P’s framework (product, process, people and press) to show the limits of the concept of creativity in the Quebec video game industry, specifically in Montreal. This model allows us to focus on different interrelated dimensions of creativity, from government economic policies to the creation process, including the products created and the people involved. At first glance, the results show a disturbing lack of creativity. But it is rather the lack of theorization and operationalization of the concept in the context of Quebec video games that is problematic. If the province wishes to maintain its status as a leader in this sector, a transdisciplinary research effort must be undertaken.

The paper addresses the illustrated postcard of the Soviet era as a means of representing the heroes of Russian history. It is noted that the processes of sacralization of certain characters significant in a specific cultural and historical context, understood in a broad sense, occurred in several directions — creation of the myth of the “hero of the people”, the myth of a leader, as well as the reinterpretation of folklore and mythological plots. The images of folk heroes were associated with people's liberation movements, or feats committed during current events, such as the Civil War and the Great Patriotic War. Another key section of the visualization of history using a postcard came to be the creation of mythotexts dedicated to the leaders of the state, primarily V. I. Lenin and I. V. Stalin. Along with the real historical characters, the heroes of Russian fairy tales and epics were used in the creation of a historical picture. The study shows how, using a postcard, elements of the visual image of the hero were formed, highlighting how illustrated postcard acted as an ideal means of broadcasting and animation of visual images, a tool for creating stable visual clichés. The author comes to the conclusion that in the case of a historical postcard, the compensatory function of culture was carried out — the replacement of the religious system of values with a set of sacralized images of a different origin — as well as that the postcard of the Soviet era may be considered at present as an artifact of historical memory and a significant visual source of historical information.

The present work is part of a research paper for which I extend my heartfelt thanks to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Valko Kanev. It examines some specifics of the artistic creation process that lead to the creation of one of the types of written student texts - the narration. Its variations - "narration by imagination" and "narration by set supports" are regulated in the new fifth grade curriculum. The requirements for writing a narration and the exemplary thematic curriculum of optional literature classes in the 7-tgrade have proven to be applicable in the literature education process.

AbstractThe site of Sirkeli Höyük in the province of Adana in modern Turkey is one of the largest settlement mounds in Plain Cilicia. In 2012, a geophysical survey revealed that the ancient settlement was not confined to the höyük, but also encompassed an extensive lower town to the southeast of the main mound. To gain information on the dating and development of this part of the settlement, an excavation area (“Sector F”) was opened at a spot where the magnetometry survey suggested the presence of a city gate. Since then, archaeological work in this area has continuously produced new discoveries that help us understand how this residential area and its inhabitants developed throughout the periods of its occupation. Especially the Iron Age (Neo Cilician period) levels, which cover approximately the 11th–7th centuries B.C., provide important information on how this urban center of the Neo Hittite kingdom Hiyawa/Que changed over time and to which extent historical events impacted the people living in one of its residential areas. This contribution discusses the stratigraphic sequence, the pottery, and the archaeobotanical remains discovered in Sector F during the 2013–2019 campaigns, and concludes with a synthesis of the development in this area from a historical perspective.

It is a problem worth thinking about whether the government’s environmental regulation policies can meet the residents’ requirements for environmental quality, and benefit the people. The study of the public’s subjective evaluation can more intuitively judge whether the government’s environmental regulation has realized “ecological benefits for the people”. Based on the data of the Chinese General Social Survey (CGSS) in 2013, this paper studied the impact of environmental regulation and environmental awareness on environmental governance satisfaction by an ordered probit model. The study found that environmental regulation has a significant positive impact on environmental governance satisfaction, while environmental awareness has a significant negative impact on environmental governance satisfaction. We also found that when public environmental awareness is taken into account, the positive relationship between environmental regulation and environmental governance satisfaction is affected. The robustness test proved this conclusion.
